Let me start by saying I have been to several bar/restaurants with my family and have had subpar experiences and yet have never been as embarrassed as I was at jacksons. My family of 4 and some friends a family of 3 went to jacksons after a Sunday afternoon Rockies game. The place was busy and seemed kid friendly so we went against our judgement and stayed for a bite to eat. First of all "service" is nonexistent. My hubby went to the bar to order our drinks and food each time. The food was nothing special, not a problem. So we decided to enjoy some of the arcade games. The kids and men we're being rambunctious but no louder than other patrons. After a few rounds of the kids playing ski ball we were kicked out by a bouncer who was apologizing that his managers "didn't like how violent we were with our kids." At no point we're the children upset or crying or in trouble. How they came to this conclusion I have no idea. Embarrassing to say the least. So we leave calmly and put our now crying kids in the car. Then the bouncer encourages patrons to ask my husband if he plans to drive after drinking and take pictures of our vehicle. Never once did anyone ask if I had been drinking or taken note that I was the designated driver. Never again will we visit Jacksons, extremely bad experience. I cannot believe the owners allow this type of behavior. Judging from all the awful reviews on google as well I see this is an ongoing thing. What a shame. I had my wedding reception there and it was the worst experience ever. Not only did the event planner lose my marriage certificate but tried to steal our platters for herself. I called her out in it and the miraculously showed up. Food was bland and the event planner didn't care to fix it. Matter of fact after signing the contract she was no help at all. Jackson's left me with a memorable experience on my brief trip to Denver, albeit not a great one. I was exploring the neighboring area with a friend, when we decided to visit Jackson's which looked like a lively place to be on a Friday night. Upon being ID'd one of the bouncers seemed to have a problem with my Illinois ID, a state I'm not sure he's even ever visited based on his confusion. After a second of trying to decipher the ID with another bouncer, they get on the radio and over someone I assumed was one of the manager's that night, I believe his name might have been Mike. While waiting for Mike the bouncer thinks it's a great idea to try and break my ID in half! An ID I need to board my flight back to Chicago! I tell him this, to which his reply is "I don't know how you plan to get on that plane with a fake." Mike shows up, takes a quick look at my 90 degree bent ID with his UV light and says it's a fake with a smug look on his face. If that wasn't reassuring enough for me, he tells me he's from Illinois, a statement I was highly skeptical of. I once again told these men that was ID was real, I needed it to return home, and had no intention of leaving without it! Mike begins to list all these reasons why my ID is fake, I barely listen. Instead, I talk to the bouncer who tells me if I want my ID back I'd have to call the police. I say that's fine, being as how it is a real ID and TSA's scanning equipment and the DMV that issued it have no problem confirming it's legality. Finally, annoyed by my persistence, or realizing they messed up, Mike agrees to return my ID to me, but not to grant me entry to the bar. In all honestly that is fine with me, because I would not grant this bar patronage nor support it with my spending after the way they treated me. The rest of my trip I was concerned if this ID which I had been able to bend back into shape had not been broken by this ruthless bouncer! If this bar is so invested in the legality of the ID's their clients use they should invest in an ID scanner! More importantly they should think about the way they treat their clients, and just people in general. The way I was treated, and the damage that was done to my government issued ID was completely unacceptable! Had they damaged my ID to the point I was unable to board my flight back, Jackson's would have been hearing from me again. I would not recommend this place to my friends, and do not plan to visit it at any point in the future. Furthermore, I would not recommend this place to anyone! read more

STEELERS FANS: this place is the spot for you in LoDo. There is literally a Steelers bar within the bar at Jackson's. It is located downstairs, directly in the back past the game/dining area. It is not just a room, it is a full on bar with about a dozen televisions dedicated to blasting Steelers games in all their glory, or lack there of lately...but that's neither here nor there. It does get packed but I've found that for 11:00 AM games, getting there around 10:30 will typically allow you to claim a spot at the bar or one of the many large tables. That is pretty amazing considering that in order to secure real estate for a game at the Rusty Bucket you must be there at least two hours early...seriously. Keep in mind, Jackson's doesn't quite have the rowdy stadium atmosphere that the Bucket does, but it's pretty damn close. They also raffle off a jersey and a couple drinks every game at halftime. If you live near downtown and your beloved Steelers aren't on TV, or even if they are, this is the place to be. To be honest Jackson's is more like a 3.5 star establishment but it does have several redeeming qualities that convince me to round up, most notably the aforementioned one. The food is nothing special, at best it is sufficient. The only slider option is a slider sampler which makes no sense to me, from both kitchen logistics all the way to customer satisfaction. The breakfast, oddly, is the best in my opinion. I usually put down the breakfast burrito prior to 4 hours of beer consumption...it is pretty solid but again, nothing worth getting excited about. Jackson's is a perfectly legitimate sports bar, they have all TV's assigned to specific games on NFL Sunday...a detail that I think is a prerequisite to labeling an establishment as a "Sport's Bar." The place is gigantic, so chances are you and however many you are with will be able to settle in comfortably and I have never noticed anything too far off with the service. Overall, this is a good place to catch a game and bring a large group...expect to enjoy yourselves but don't expect to be blown away. read more

We love to go before and after a game for food and drinks. We love the burgers and friend pickles. They have a great patio area and can always accommodate big groups. just now Hi guys, I'm leaving this post as someone who used to go to jacksons a few times a week over the past 3 years. I can no longer recommend this place. I feel bad for the few employees that do a good job, but this restaurant is quickly becoming less of a restaurant and more of a bar, and a ghetto one at that. I had an experience a couple weeks ago where I wanted a different side with my order. I was told that I could not have it (tots instead of fries) because it would mess up the kitchen and had to order a whole separate side of tots for several dollars more, on top of having fries that I do not want. I have been coming for years and this is the only time I've heard it, but now they have adopted it as a new stance. I'm sorry, that's absolutely ridiculous. Today, i was told at 9:30 by Rich the restaurant manager (who was also the manager in both instances mentioned here), that I could not come in to eat unless I paid $20 for unlimited well drinks. I and the married couples I am with have no interest in that whatsoever. Is this a restaurant anymore or just a bar? Why do u give all u can drink wristbands if that does not differentiate yourself from an alcoholic client or one trying to enjoy food after a Rockies game?? The manager continued to try to tell me that there is only a small list of people that he can allow in to eat without unlimited drinks and that list was full. That is a lie, as I've said, I've been coming for years...that is ridiculous. Do not come here, there are lies being told to clients and they legit are no longer adult or family friendly. It's unfortunate but whoever has started doing this has lost their grip on their clients. Always have a great time here. Everyone is super nice! Two floors, plenty of drinks and food to choose from, and located right by Coors Field. This is one of my husbands favorite sports bars to go to after a baseball game and now I know why. It's directly across from Coors Field in downtown. We stopped in for an early lunch before a game the other day. We both got drinks and I got a burger and he got a sandwich. The food was your typical bar food but delicious. I got the breakfast burger which I definitely recommend. It has fried egg, bacon, and a hash brown. Great atmosphere before a game and the inside is full of Coors field/Rockies/Broncos stuff. The Rockies game had a rain delay this weekend and I have issues with dairy and eggs, so it's really hard to find something I can consume at the stadium. So we walked over to Jackson's hoping there was something I might be able to have. It was super packed, we weren't the only ones who would rather hang out at the bar instead of the stadium. We ended up at the rooftop area where Michael, he seemed like a bar back but maybe he was a server, took our order and put it in correctly. The last two places we've gone out to eat at have screwed up my order twice and then brought me something completely different from what I ordered. It was AMAZING and refreshing to receive what I ordered the way I ordered it. Due to Michael and the ability of the cooks to read the ticket that was put in will definitely bring us back again. At least on the two occasions our three person crew stopped in here while in town for the opening football weekend, we had a good time here - sporting our opposing jerseys did not even promote any animosity that one can find in some places. One Denver fan, after a few moments of conversation and who left our presence bought us all a round. I returned the favor, no doubt about it. Everyone we ran into was great, including the staff. The food was not bad either I should add. We did not go when there was some craziness going on, as most of the complaints seem to stem around the security and subcontracted activities. So, I cannot write about that aspect as the lone security guard who checked our ID was fine. So, for our two adventures I'd say, from all three of us, that we are "fans" of the place. read more

I love Jackson's! Doesn't hurt that I'm a huge Steeler fan and they happen to be a Steelers bar. Their food is high quality bar food for sure, make sure to get the philly with everything on it! We came in last night after the zombie crawl and we were given misinformation about what was going on upstairs. We were told if we paid 10 dollars each to go upstairs it would be all you can drink. Jackson's offers this special all the time so we thought it was just upstairs for this night. We paid and got upstairs and were told that was not the case. We just paid to go upstairs, which was a complete waste. We went right back down to get our money back and the lady running the event was the rudest person I have ever met. She told us we would not get our money back that it was our fault and continued to blow us off. When my boyfriend asked for a manager she told him good luck finding him. We eventually got someone and they tried to help us out as much as they could but we still didn't get our money back. Not only were these people rude to us, the guy who was "security" continued to be incredibly rude and egged my boyfriend on to the point where there was almost a fight. I have never experienced such a rude an awful customer service. I don't understand why they would not return our money. We literally were upstairs for two minutes before we discovered drinks would not be glowing for free. Even though Jackson's weren't in charge of these people we will not be coming back. read more

Let me start by saying I never did get past the front door so I really don't know what the staff inside was like, nor did I experience the food or service. I only got to meet the bouncer at the door who had a God complex. Because Jackson's employs a person like this, I will never spend a dime with them! Background: My friends and I start out with a shared Bachelorette/Bachelor party with 35 people for dinner and drinks at a different restaurant. The dinner was awesome and set the mood for a fun night ahead. After dinner the girls and guys split up and head out for some drinks and dancing. The girls decide to start the night at Jackson's because they have a band and it's Ladies night. Four of the girls arrive first and get inside no problem. The next group of 7, who are with me, show up and we get in line to show our IDs to the bouncer to prove we are old enough to drink. (Mind you every person in both the Bachelor and Bachelorette party are 30+ years old, most married with kids, and some are cops or cops wives. So it's not like we are a big threat...). I am standing in line a few girls back and three with Colorado ID's get thought just fine. The friend in front of me is visiting from South Carolina. The bouncer takes the South Carolina ID from my friend and looks at it, then takes his flashlight and shines it on the back and the front. Then he begins bending the ID in half. In the mean time my friend pulls out her Military ID that she uses to get on base to do her job and hands it to him. Both forms of ID should surely be enough, right??? Nope, then the bouncer proceeds to ask her what the green stripe on her government ID means, and starts trying to peel the film cover off the ID. My friend gets upset and tries taking her ID back because she does not want them ruined. The bouncer then tells her that she can't come in unless she apologizes to him. Okay, so let me preface this with, my fiend is 5 foot and weights 90lbs maybe. She is not a threat to the 6 foot 215lbs bouncer. So anyway, in trying to keep the night going, my friend apologizes for trying to take her ID back. The bouncer being a smug, responds "that is not that I want you to apologize for, I wanted you to apologize for grabbing the ID from my hand". He then to proceeds to say that real IDs don't have that film and that hers must be fake. I guess that he should talk to the state of South Carolina and the US Military to make sure they know how he expects to see IDs. Anyway, we ended up taking all 15 girls to another place and later meeting back up worth the guys there. Jackson's really missed out last night due to employing people who care more about at the door who don't know must not like anyone visiting from out of state. I wouldn't suggest this place to anyone. read more

Jackson's is a Top of the line Gators bar located in Downtown Denver right across from Coors field, making it a perfect pre-game spot for a Rockies game or Gators Game. They have a ton of televisions, 2 stories, with a cool Open rooftop patio W a nice view of the Denver skyline. On Saturday's, this place is the official spot for the Denver Rocky Mountain Gators Club with all TV's on the gators game on 2nd floor, a blow up Albert gator, tons of gator flags, gators banners, and a cable that a gator slides down after each touchdown. I was blown away to see that this place is bigger and better decorated than the gators club's official bar in Tampa, Florida which is only an hour and a half from the university in a town with much more Gators. Prices were pretty average for the area with Blue moon pitchers for $10, Coors pitchers for $7, mixed drinks for $5, burgers for $10. I was surprised to see a pickle juice pitcher which is for a pickle back which is a Jameson chased with pickle juice. Everything was very good and service was surprisingly quick for how packed the place was. Once the bartender threw away my drink by accident and without hesitation or argument he gave me another full blue moon which was more than I had when I threw it away, so I can't complain. They had gator Cornhole, shuffleboard, and a cool brew bucket game. Awesome venue! I'll be telling the Tampa Gators Club about this for sure! Go Gators! :) read more

Love jacksons! My friend and I are visiting from MN and decided to visit this bar for ladies night. Saturday night, $5 cover after 10pm but ladies drink free. We headed to the roof top to enjoy the beautiful Denver night. Our bartender for most of the night, Nick , was friendly at first contact. Our third time coming up to the bar, he slid our typical drink order (vodka soda) over to us without us having to order. This happened throughout the night as we came up to the bar. We saw Nick doing this for others as well! So friendly and welcoming!! I love Denver even more than I already did. Shoutout to Nick for making our experience even better! read more

Woohoo is right! The only thing sweeter than Jackson's teriyaki wings is the fact that it's also a Washington Capitals bar. Best Capitals bar I've been to in Denver, in fact. If you're a Gators fan, you'll find your swamp on the second level, complete with another full bar and turf field. Jackson's wait staff deserves an honorable mention as well - as a fresh beer or water was never out of reach and we had no issues with the tab for a total party of 10. read more

Unfortunately I did not keep the signed receipt but our whole table saw the tab since I gave my card and was then reimbursed by everyone. I contacted Jacksons and the GM emailed me asking for more information but after responding I have not heard anything back. Why it takes a week to figure out how to handle a dishonest employee who steals money from your customers is puzzling to me! Geez where do I start? We walked in and my flat literally came off my foot with how sticky the floor was. I knew at that moment I wanted to leave. The night didn't get better either. I'm pretty sure the girl with her belly hanging out grinding on some dude at the downstairs bar was preggers. Upstairs it was deserted for a Saturday night and consisted of the shadiest looking characters in the world. I think the DJ was playing the radio and the majority of said characters were under age.
