Husband had bacon cheeseburger & fries. Burger was seasoned well & cooked to medium well as ordered. Huge burger & plenty of fries. I had a crab cake with smoked gouda grits. The grits were excellent - creamy with a few jalapeños added in. The crab cake was ok until I got several pieces of shell. I had taken my food to go bc I wasn't feeling well so I couldn't tell our waitress. Overall a great experience. read more

This was our first time visiting Jackson Square Grill, and I have to say that we were very impressed by the quality of the food. We honestly didn't expect to find this type of establishment in Columbus, MS. We started out with an order of Panko-crusted mozzarella sticks, and they arrived hot and fresh. The beer on tap (I'm told) was very-very cold. The salads were all fresh, crispy, and brought out at the perfect time before receiving our entrees. Three in our party ordered the New York Strip, and they were all cooked perfectly to the requested steak temps. I ordered the Mahi-Mahi special, which was absolutely delicious; however the star of that dish was the flash-fried brussel sprouts. I was a bit skeptical at first because I had never had them prepared that way, but oh my!!! I couldn't stop eating them. We concluded with a little dessert shooter that was just the perfect size to cap off a fantastic meal. Service staff was also very polite and accommodating. We will return. read more

We recently went to the Grill for Sunday brunch and needless to say, we all cleaned our plates. Of course, we started the meal with a trip to the Bloody Mary bar. I'm always ecstatic to see bloody mary bars, especially when they're over-the-top! This one was a bit basic, but it was thrilling nonetheless. And they had zing-zangs, which is my favorite mix (aside from the delicious house mixes that some restaurants offer). For our meals, I ordered the chicken biscuits and my husband ordered the crabcake benedict. We had the intention to share. The most we got out of each other was one bite because both meals were devoured. They were so good! I will definitely be going back for brunch as much as I can! :) read more

This place is much improved from when I first visited, soon after moving to Columbus 4.5 years ago. The building and menu have both been given MAJOR upgrades. I have never been blown away by my food here, but have never been disappointed, either. Some of the dishes are plain, but there are a lot of people out there with plain taste, so I guess they must be catered to as well. Two of my favorite dishes include the salmon entree for dinner and the crab cakes benedict for brunch. They've got an expansive bar with a good selection and TVs. I've never watched a game here, but would choose it any day over the atrocious Buffalo Wild Wings 100 yards away. Service here is very friendly. I also must give The Grill two big thumbs up for being the only restaurant in Columbus, to my knowledge, to fully embrace the one necessary element to a complete Sunday brunch: the Bloody Mary bar. Bravo! Sometimes I forget how much better The Grill is now than it used to be. I should try to remember to visit more often! read more

Myself and my coworkers have dined at the restaurant 4 days within with in the past 7 days. Twice for brunch, once for lunch, and once for dinner and the service has always been top notch. The food is good as well. For brunch I would recommend getting the chicken and waffles with the syrup and then a side of scrambled eggs.......you we'll be more than stuffed but you will leave there extra happy. In an area full fast food, bbq, and fried foods this place is refreshing, great prices , great service, and pretty good food. read more

I tried the Caribbean ribeye with a baked potato. I was very disappointed with the taste of the steak. The marinated spices ruined the natural flavor of the ribeye. I could not finished the steak because of the flavor. The service was good but the menu was a bite pricey for their limited menu. We will not return to this Resturant in the future. This is one of the only places in town where I have never had a bad meal. In a town full of older restaurants, The Grill stands out for being new and modern in appearance. Oddly enough it's usually not crowded, but I'm not going to complain. I'm typically not an appetizer-orderer, but when I go here I try to get one because they are so good, especially the panko crusted cheese sticks. It is kid friendly, my 2 year old enjoys the menu, and the service is good. I highly recommend the salmon if you go, but really, everything is good. *edit* The quality has taken a huge hit at this restaurant. I have been back serveral times and menu items are not prepared how they are described and the wait has been horrendous in a nearly empty dining room. My wife just took me out for a Valentine's Day lunch to the Grill. The service was great the atmosphere was pleasant and everyone was so nice and helpful. My wife told the waitress that she wanted some type of pasta and the waitress went through the menu and said "It's not on the menu but I could get the chef to make you Carbonara " my wife said great that's what I want. When the food game it was the best meal I and my wife have ever had the chef even came to the table to make sure she was happy. I must say The Grill is now my favorite restaurant . The Grill went through a major remodeling this spring. It's now more modern and upbeat. I went with a friend who had the baby back ribs. I had the Bayou Chicken with crawfish sauce. My friend really enjoyed his ribs and the chicken and crawfish was to die for! There were two breast pieces with the sauce and it was just too much to eat at one time. I took it home and had it the next night. It was still great!. The service was great. This restaurant in my humble opinion has done a big turn around. What a nice surprise in Columbus, MS!! We saw this restaurant on our way down the road and I checked it out on yelp. Well reviews were spot on! Clean, friendly and delicious is how I would describe our experience. I had chicken fettuccine Alfredo and my husband the beef tip special in wine sauce. My house salad was so fresh and the ranch dressing delicious. Our waitress Leah was great and so sweet. The manager came over to Akemi sure we enjoyed the meal which I always appreciate. If you are in the area do yourself a favor and treat yourself to some great food, outstanding hospitality and reasonably priced food. You won't be disappointed! Stopped by on a road trip - beautiful lighting and decorating, smelled great inside. Ordered filet mignon ($20), which was adequate. Baked potato was hard as a rock. Told the waitress it was underdone; her response was, "Most people order it loaded." $1.99 side order of asparagus was 3 stalks. $4.99 berry cobbler, advertised in a "delicious pastry crust" had no crust at all - it was a bowl of ice cream topping heated up. The food is good, but I am not sure why there is such a strange disconnect between how "uncrowded" this restaurant is and how good the food is. I have had good service and good food at every visit. My favorite is the beef vegetable soup and a grilled cheese sandwich. I have had dishes that I have not been "agreeable" to, and my server and the manager has always been spot on. I don't like the elevated seating along the walls, and the way everybody's conversations can be heard under the area next to the kitchen. It was almost as good as what I used to get in Ybor City when I lived in the Tampa suburbs. The spring rolls are to die for. My husband got the Philly cheese steak. He loved it. Ok for brunch. The chicken and waffles is not bad. The breakfast burger is ok, but not nearly as good as the rooster at the Twisted Burger. The turkey club is decent --an ok sandwich with a fair amount of meat. My friends like the bourbon st nachos. I had the fritatta which is a dish I've never had before and it was great - cheese, eggs, spinach, sausage, etc in it, with fresh fruit and a biscuit on the side. I also tried the chicken and waffles: perfectly crispy chicken fingers with candied pecans atop fluffy waffles that taste very much like funnel cake to me, drizzled with syrup.
