Wolf's Jackson Hole

(5 reviews)

"Wolf" is indeed the most accurate name to give to this auto dealership. And you, their customers,…read moreare who they view as their "sheep." I had the recent unfortunate experience of selling a car to these wolves. My 1978 classic VW Super Beetle convertible. I had it listed in the local classifieds for $7,200. One of the wolves called me on the second day the ad ran and was so friendly, yet insistent that I bring the car in right away so he could see it. So, I brought the car in. The wolf in question (Edgar) told me that he is a classic VW collector and that he was going to fully restore it to its original condition and keep it for his own use. All of this sounded great to me because I simply wanted a buyer who would love the car and care for it as much as I did. Wolf Edgar test drove it with his wolf boss, brought it back and proceeded to tell me all the things that were wrong with it. The top (again it was a convertible) needed to be replaced, there was rust on the undercarriage, the alignment was completely off making the steering wheel shake at high speeds, and the tires were cracked and needed to be replaced making it "unsafe" to drive (Edgar's words). I also (naively) told the wolves about the faulty electrical system and how the stereo does not work anymore and how the windshield wipers will sometimes randomly turn on on their own. They don't mention any of these issues on their website though. Nor do they tell you that the upholstery has all been redone recently. They make the false claim that everything on the car is "original." It's not. Well, the wolves added up all of these "issues" and told me that there was at least $2000 worth of repairs that needed to be made to even begin to "restore" the car. Wolf Edgar then proceeded to low-ball me with an offer of $5,800. I pushed back and was eventually able to get to an agreeable price of $6,300. Now, don't get me wrong, I think $6,300 was a fair price. I think I probably could have gotten more for it, but that's not my issue. My issue is being flat-out lied to by these wolves. They told me to my face that they were not interested in "flipping" this car (we outright asked). That it was a project car for Edgar. This is the #1 reason I decided to sell to these people. I bought the lies, and stuck my sheep neck out for them to dig their teeth in to. Because not even TWO DAYS after I sold this car to them for $6,300 they had it on their lot in a prominent spot, they had a nice Facebook post up about test driving my Bug, and they had it listed on their website for sale for, get this, $12,995. So, in two days they did NOTHING to it. Nothing has been fixed. They didn't even change the oil. They didn't even wash the dang thing! I know this because I went and looked at it on their lot and it still had rain spots on the paint from when I had driven it through a drizzle a few days earlier. Despite that they more than doubled the price they purchased it from me for. And now they want to rob YOU, their customers, of $6,695. Just putting the car on their lot somehow more than doubled its value. Wolf also promised me that they would let me know before they ever put the car back on sale so that I could have first dibs once it was restored. Well, I guess they should have called me with that info the day after I sold it to them then! Just another lie. Now I am leaving this review to warn others against dealing with these wolves. Whatever price is on the sticker, you can bet that they paid less than half of that to acquire the car. And any issues that the car had when they bought it, you can bet they are still there. These wolves have no qualms about selling un-repaired, unsafe vehicles. That's their business model. You'll walk away with a lemon and two very empty pockets. Do yourself a favor and don't be a sheep. Do not do business with "Wolf" Auto.

Quick response to our inquiries, not too pushy in selling, fair price, especially for Jackson where…read moreyou'd expect everything is expensive beyond measures.

It still leaked and all the expensive coolant (almost $500 worth) and the air conditioning didn't work after a short time period. After telling them this, they told me I must have done something. After reporting it to the owner, the owner told them to fix my air conditioning. The service department told me in a text, whining like a child, that they did me wrong and want to make this right. My original bill was near $1700.00. I spoke with them and they told me it would basically cost me nothing to fix the issue. They spent three days until they finally got to my vehicle. I walked in and my suv was finally in the service bay. The service manager called back on the phone to the mechanic while on speaker phone. He asked the mechanic how the suv was doing and the mechanic replied, "What, this piece of shit!" The service manager promptly took the call of speaker and smiled at me. This guy said to me a week earlier that I should have gone with a Ford because Chevy's suck. This is a Chevy dealer saying this to me. I just then thought the man was an idiot. Anyway, my vehicle was a Chevy Yukon and only three years old at that time. What a pleasure having someone work on my vehicle after saying Chevy's suck and the mechanic calling my suv a piece of shit. I feel so confident having people like this work on my car.....NOT!!!! Anyway, the guy calls me up while I am working and tells me my SUV is ready. I said "Great' how much?" He said $1000 plus dollars. Can't remember exactly the number but it was over $1000. I thought they were going to basically do this for free. I just wanted my vehicle and wanted to get away from these thieves as fast as I could. I paid for it via credit card over the phone and picked up the vehicle after hours. Upon pickup, the bill was on the seat of the SUV. I looked at it and the guy charged me a second time for the coolant (almost $500.00 of the bill) after I paid for the coolant the first time when they misdiagnosed that the coolant lines where leaking. DAH!!!!!!!! I shall never return to this p[lace again. Not forgetting to mention, I don't think the two service managers like each other, because the bald one had the other one find a vehicle in the lot and was swearing the worst after asked to do so. Not a place of trust or pleasure. I don't believe there is any honesty here. I was screwed on this one. Beware of these people. Very sad experience I had to endure. Lied to and cheated. Why would I return for more of that?
