We were scheduled to leave on Monday with RV reservations at West Yellowstone for that night. I arrived shortly after they opened and spoke to Race and told him of our situation, trying to leave that day to keep on track of our RV scheduled. He said he would do the best he could but was not sure he could complete the work on Monday. He scanned our Honda CRV computer and found the fault codes and identified the issues. Race drove me back to the RV campground and said he would try to get the parts and repairs completed that day. I called at 1:30 and he said they were working on the car. I called back at 3:30 to see if we should drive our RV to their shop so we would be ready to leave when the car was repaired. We got to the shop at 4:30 and the car was tested and ready for pick up. We were able to hitch up the car to our RV and be on the road at 5:00 on to West Yellowstone. I can't thank Race and Page and the mechanics for the work they did replacing the Coolant Temperature Sensor and Camshaft Position Sensor. Great job!!!

Receptionist can be a little rude & impatient... from what I remember. However, this is why it's a year later. They work that they did probably cause damage to my transmission, they either pounded in my CV axle or forced it in some way or another, because it's chipped, which means there's most likely metal shaving in the transmission oil. I have to flush out my transmission oil. It did hold for a year though. But I'm upset that I thought I had the problem fixed & now it is not, & I have to fix their mistakes. Which I now have to pay for again. I'm currently at another shop hoping that they can undo the damage that Jason's caused to my transmission. They used the wrong size nuts & bolts & that weren't screwed in correctly, it was loose. The drive nut wasn't on there correctly. This current mechanic showed me where. Use at your own risk...

Told him my situation and he said they are booked solid, but he can't leave stranded" and got me in the next day. Dropped the vehicle of getting ready to drop some big cash for a transmission. Got a call later in the day and Cory informed me it wasn't the transmission, it was another part of the drivetrain. They got the parts needed and did the repair. They had me on my way in 3 days! I paid under what I expected, even though it was a different issue. Western Transmission's service was excellent. If you ever need transmission service in the Idaho Falls or Western Wyoming area check them out.

They've rebuilt a 4Runner rear differential that a different local shop botched, and they've installed several CV axles, also in 4Runners. As a loyal Toyota owner for almost 40 years, I've learned to use only OEM Toyota parts, which I purchase from authorized dealers. WT is the only shop in Idaho Falls that I can find that will install these parts. So I use WT exclusively for driveline work (which is all they do). Prices are reasonable, and the work is done well. Randy, the knowledgeable fellow at the front desk, understands the OEM part issue I face as a Toyota owner, and has been accommodating. Western Transmission has been better than any dealership shop I've used in four decades.

Over the Hill towed my son's car 3 miles all within city limits to his own lot and not to the asked for body shop. I was charged $360. $295 for the tow. $55 for the car to sit in his grass field for 24 hours. Because I paid with a credit card I got and extra "HazMat" charge of $13.65. My original conversation with the owner I told him he was a bit high. he hung up on me. All in, Over the Hill is 4 times the rate of AAA. I didn't even get that chance to call AAA because he just hooked up the car and left. I called three other tow companies in Rexburg that quoted half the rate and had no storage fee for the first three days. When in a tight spot or after an accident don't call Over the Hill. We had a very poor experience.

Less than a week later they had the vehicle up and running and for less than the original estimate. The second was a repair job. After quoting the job to replace an assembly of solenoids , I got a call back and was told that the transmission was different than what the book showed and that they'd be able to replace the faulty solenoid instead of the whole assembly for less than what they had originally quoted, but I was also informed that it might be the computer instead. The error codes were inconclusive. We proceeded with the repair, but 4 weeks later had the same problem. Took it in and they replaced the computer and it is running fine. They stood behind their work and didn't bicker with me after I brought the car back in. They just took care of the problem. Two days later I was on the road again. They were very straight forward and honest about the costs and options available. I had gotten quotes from a lot of shops on the first vehicle, and they were right in line with the other quotes. Furthermore, when it was all said and done, the total cost was less than any of the other quotes I had received. They've earned my trust and my future business.

Dishonest and Untrustworthy…read more I went to this shop expecting an honest evaluation, but instead they tried to rip me off. They told me my rotors were worn out and needed replacing -- even though my husband had just installed brand-new rotors two months ago. When I called my husband (who is a mechanic) and told him what they said, he immediately knew something was off. When confronted, the guy backpedaled and said his job was "just to give an estimate." That's not the point -- I trusted them to give me an honest assessment of my car, and they flat-out lied about work that didn't need to be done. Do not trust these people. They will make things up, replace parts and filters that don't need replacing, and take advantage of customers who don't know better. Thankfully, I had someone who could verify their dishonesty, but not everyone will. Stay far away.
