Avoid this location if at all possible. Caught a chunk of steel inside Teton NP and destroyed a tire and it needed replaced. I was told that since the tire was at 5/32's tread left and my vehicle is full time 4 wheel drive they would have to sell me 4 tires or none at all. They did not check the other 3 tires as we dropped the damaged one off. We did not purchase 4 new tires at this location. 3 days and hundreds of miles we ended up at Discount in Idaho and all 4 tires were found to have 8/32's tread not the 5/32's Big O quoted. If the tires were truly at 5/32's I could understand Big O erring on the side of caution from a mechanical standpoint but they lied and purposely mis-lead me to get a big sale. read more

We were on a family road trip and needed new brakes. It was a Saturday afternoon and every place is closed on Sunday when we were set to head to head home. With a bunch of kids in tow, we were a bit distressed about being stranded without a vehicle. Steve was handling the front desk. He was clearly annoyed by us, and was quite rude in how he answered our questions. We were feeling quite unsettled until JD took over. He alleviated our stress and gave us the simple answers to the questions we had. (Like a rough timeframe, possible costs). He was so friendly and hospitable. He gave us great food recommendations and he even let us borrow the Big O truck to go grab lunch because it was hailing and raining. Took my car in for an oil change and rotation. Asked if they could check the brakes which they put new rotors and pads on. Then they said my battery needed to be changed. When I picked it up the the car check engine, brake, cruise control were all flashing. They said they couldn't clear the codes and I needed to take it to a Subaru Dealer, that maybe my alternator was bad? I paid them $798. I took the car to Teton Motor and they found two fuzes bad and charged me $195 for $15 worth of fuses. Teton Motors told me to make Big O pay for that service charge, asked why they couldn't figure out to check for fuses? I've been going to my local Big O Tires for 30-year, year after year, manager after manager the service gets worse and worse. So sad when your from a small town with limited places to take your car in for service. read more

Another truly crap-tastic Big O experience in Jackson, what a surprise! Brought in truck last night for a wheel swap (all tires on rims, winter tires and rims purchased at Big O. When I purchased the tires and rims from Mark (big dude, not there anymore) a big part of his sales pitch was that the tire swaps would be for the life of the rims/tires, no questions asked. EVERY SINGLE TIME that I have brought the truck in for wheel swaps, the shop has tried to scam me into paying. This time was amazing, the new manager insisted that we didn't. buy the rims (or tires) from him, so we had to pay. Well, it turns out we have receipts. Pretty 'legendary' to be called a liar, thanks, that was awesome! In addition, I dropped the car off at night. The service options on the card include an option for oil change and filter. Well, this location doesn't offer this. No problem, but manager dude, I don't think you realize how condescending you sounded when you asked me "What cardyellow card?" THE ONE I FILLED OUT, guy. As to the lifetime swaps, guy kept saying "the policy has changed", essentially making me doubt that they (or he) stand by anything they say, or do. To say that the exchanged showed an incredible lack of integrity is an understatement, to say the least. This place is seriously the worst in town, IME. 9/6/2023 - We have been BIG-O customers in Louisville, KY for years. We were in Jackson for family vacation and picked up a nail in a tire. The local BIG O was busy, but the manager, JD took care of my issue very quickly and with the same quality I have become accustomed to with BIG O. I called to ask about appointment availability - was asked to bring it in for service right away. When I got there however they told me they would have to wait a couple of hours, and may not be seen at all. Given the previous negative reviews this gave me a bad feeling about their honestly and service, so I went to a nearby local shop (Levis) who took me in a bit earlier than the appointment time agreed upon on the phone. read more

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. Driving through Jackson my TPMS warning came on. I saw I had a screw in my tire. I called Big O tires late in the day and was asked to come in first thing in morning. When I arrived the Entire team was very accommodating. I have a spinal cord injury and can barely walk. they allowed me to park infront of the roll up door. The manager JD came out to talk to me. They allowed me to stay in my van while the tire was being patched. While waiting, an employee came our just to Chek to see if I needed anything, Coffee, water.. Never been treated with more disrespect in my life!! We've been loyal customers for 15yrs, bought multiple sets of tires, and will never go back! In October I had a leak. I went to a local tire shop in Driggs (been in business 35yrs) and they patched it. Again it was leaking so they replaced the rim and it was still leaking. They said it was a defective tire and unsafe. They were kind enough to loan me a tire so I could bring the big o tire & my vehicle safely over the pass. I call and speak to JD who was nice enough to "squeeze me in". My tires were still under warranty for 2 more months. They tell me they're going to replace the tire free of charge. When I get there the place is packed, and JD,s toddler is running around the shop. Must've been 20 people in there. Fast forward to yesterday (we came to Jackson for my daughter birthday). My car is still under warranty so I take it to the dealership for service and they inform me that I have mismatched tires, one blizzak snow tire and my 3 other all season big o tires. On an AWD vehicle this can ruin a car quick and that there's a noise coming from my transfer case. For a new set of tires and the repairs it's going to cost me $2500. I immediately call and speak with JD who tells me to come over right away. I explain the situation and he tells me that "I'm being dishonest, the 2013 blizzak did not come from big o and that I must've took it somewhere else and am being dishonest so I can get a free tire because they take impeccable notes... He's 100% certain there is no way it's his shop fault. He proceeds to tell me he's only been there 8 months as manager, the two techs that did the work no longer work there because their work visas ended, my original tires were discontinued and that's why I have a different tire (even tho his shop didn't do it..), and that the only way he will help me is if I buy a new set of tires, he'll pay for the parts (transfer case) or comp 1 tire but not both. When I say I don't trust his shop to pay more money, he tells me i need new tires either way. When I ask to speak with anyone above him he explains it's a franchise, he's the end of the line and that he will not put me in touch with anyone above him. In fact the owner will laugh in my face and if I'm not willing to accept the help he's offering I need to leave." Conveniently my warranty expired a month ago. All in front of my 9 yr old daughter. Never in my life. As a local of 20 years I don't think I've ever experienced such a lack of customer service. All I wanted was for them to replace the tire that was causing the issue and the parts for the damage their mistake caused to my vehicle. I would have gladly paid for the other 3 tires. Bottom line up front: after going to Big O for a number of years, we will not be going back due to the manager giving a blast of defensive excuses as to why it took over 12 hours to swap in our snow tires, when we were 3rd in line. There are no appointments for tire changes, so my wife showed up at 6:50am before they even open, after given advice to show up early. The key dropbox was taped over and the doors were still locked. The manager arrived later, opened the shop at 7:30am. At 11am, the woman that was in front of my wife in line picked up her car. And our car wasn't ready for pick up until after 8pm. The manager basically defended this by saying that they have a lot of cars to process (75 cars a day), deal with customers that bring in bald tires, left over cars from the previous day, keys in the dropbox (which was taped over as mentioned above), etc. At one point he asked, "what do you expect?" I can definitely appreciate how many cars they process (most in town), so all I really expect is that they honor their first-come-first-serve, which I think they completely failed to do in our case. The math just doesn't work out... (info from the manager) they process 75 cars a day, they had 14 leftover cars from the previous day, and 20 cars in the drop box. Being 3rd in line, that would put us at #35 for the day if you assume they processed all of those other cars first. So, which is it? Did they process 75 cars yesterday and push a lot of other cars ahead of us? Or were they only able to process 35 cars all day, since we were nearly the last car to be taken car of for the day? Lastly, the manager said, "you'll be back in the spring." We won't. And I don't think of ourselves as a captive customer. read more

While roadtripping here from San Diego and coming down the Teton pass my tire sensor light went on. I took it here immediately in a panic and they took my 4runner in quickly. The manager will try to sell you new tires, even if you don't need them. We have experienced this twice and know other families who have experienced the same issue. We bought snow tires from them last year and they told us we needed brand-new tires this fall even though ours were fine. They also refused to warranty the ones they said were "faulty" read more

I had a blowout and needed a replacement, they would only sell me 2 tires, not 1; fair enough. When my truck was ready, I paid, and left to get on with my day. 2 days later, while fishing I noticed I had FOUR new tires, not 2. I called the store, and got a text back to call the manager. No "please", no "thank you for calling". When I talked with the manager, same lack of civility. He asked when I could come in and exchange the tires. Poor story short, I came in and waited for them to put my old 2 tires on, and the tech came and told me I was done. The manager, JD, walked by and I asked him if I was done and he just said yes, and kept walking. No "sorry for the trouble", no "thank you for coming back". I imagine they'll sell the 2 "slightly used tires they got back as new, despite knowing I drove several hours in the mountains and dirt roads to fish. read more

if you value dishonesty, violence and watching someone belittle their own crew. this is the place for you. I had a two day long encounter with this completely lacking of any kind of professionalism. . the first day I called in and was told by the manager JD that they don't do appointments they do first come first serve, and that there was nobody in line and they'd get me right in for a simple tire rotation. After commuting an hour and a half drive, I was immediately told by JD that they would not be able to get to my vehicle today. Rather come tomorrow morning, first thing in the morning as it's first come first serve. The following morning, I was there at 7:45 AM when they open at 8 AM. The first person to be logged into their system for the day and I was told I would be out of there by no later than 930. By 10 AM, I had watched multiple other people come and go that came in after me. after asking the manager about timing he just would respond with same lie," your up next". just after 10 am I asked for my keys as I couldn't wait any longer. jd the manager seemed to be bothered by this and threw my key at me raising his voice, telling me that I don't need to come to his business anymore. after shouting at me he proceeded to walk up to me, grab me with two hands by my jacket and tell me to "get the fuck out of his store" forcefully pushing me outside of the door in front of all of the customers and employees. This was my second time driving up from california to take a summer job in Jackson. I went there to have them check my car for issues before I was supposed to drive home because I'd been once before in 2018 and they had done a decent job. This time, they gave me a completely bullshit evaluation of what was wrong with my car and a grossly overpriced estimate. Granted, Im a 20-something girl with a California license plate, an easy target for a mechanic looking to take advantage of someone, but I don't think that excuses their lack of integrity. They told me my serpentine belt needed to be replaced, my brake pads needed to replaced, my entire braking system (literally what they said) might need to be taken out and replaced and that my power steering was about to give out. They had me completely panicked. When I asked if my car would be safe to drive back to California without fixing it for an outrageous price (couple grand), they said most likely not. I waited 4 hours at the shop after the estimate for them to see if they even had the parts to do the job, and they ended up telling me there was nothing they could do even though they had effectively told me my car wasn't safe to drive. And by the way, they said, the nearest large auto shop was all the way in Victor. My parents talked me down and I'm glad they did. I took what I thought was a massive risk and drove my car back home to Sacramento. The drive went completely fine. Got my car looked at by a more honest auto shop and guess what?! the only thing big O was right about was the serpentine belt. Other than that, brake pads had a lot of time left, brake rotors were slightly warped but not a safety issue, and NOTHING WAS WRONG WITH MY POWER STEERING. Anyway, count on Big O Jackson for long wait times, exorbitant prices, and incompetent mechanics. But anyone who isn't a disillusioned millionaire resident in Jackson would see that the dishonest and overpriced nature of Big O fits right in with the rest of the town's character. read more

My wife and I were making a cross country trip and had a problem with a tire. We stopped here for help and had amazing service. The guys in the front were very knowledgable and extremely friendly. It was a pleasure to do business with them. I was in a panic and they were very helpful and put me to ease. I ended up purchasing four new tires, which was not what I was hoping to do, but everything they said made sense to me. I did not feel ripped off or taken advantage of. I did not identify myself and I simply asked a favor, I said, "I pray that you can plug in my truck to find out what the check engine light is all about." We drove down from Teton NP this morning and noticed a nail in our passenger front tire. We called Big O's and Tom answered the phone - very polite and happy to help us. Told us to come on over since they do first come first serve patching. We had another nice employee help us when we arrived and got our car in as soon as he could (4 cars were in front of us with the same issue). He told us it would be a couple of hours and sure enough, 2 hours later we got the text that the car was finished! It was a much cheaper service than we expected and we would gladly come back again and recommend this place to anyone passing through the Jackson area. read more

Saved me big time! Woke up to find my rear passenger tire mostly deflated. I was able to drive the 10 minutes to a gas station to fill it up but it was slowly losing air. I was about an hour and a half from the nearest town, Jackson, and this was the only tire place open on a Saturday afternoon. I mapped it and was going to arrive 25 minutes before closing time. They could tell I was very stressed and were able to squeeze me in- even stayed past closing time to finish it up and to top it off, it was FREE! Traveling through from Utah and after coming down the pass from Utah in motorhome the brakes overheated. There are 10% grades coming down and everything was fine for about 10 miles after coming off the grades and then the brakes felt like there was air in the brake lines. We stopped and called triple A as it was unsafe to drive. Big O gave us permission on a Friday night to bring the motorhome to their parking lot and stay in the motorhome until they could get to it on Monday. Rob and Nathan were great. (No i was not riding the brakes and was in low gear. It is a long haul down that grade. My diagnoses is the brake fluid boiled) read more

I am a little surprised at the other reviews for this place. The person (I believe it was Mark) who helped me was very nice and came off as pretty trustworthy. He even offered to help us go in to town since I had my kids while we waited. I heard him dealing with another customer who got misquoted and he gave the customer the lower misquoted price even though the customer was ok with the higher price. Finally, I have this piece of trim that broke and hangs off of the side of my van. It has been like that for years and noone has bothered to fix it, and I didnt have the right part to fix it. They fixed it free of charge and they didnt even tell me they fixed it. My wife noticed it and was really impressed. read more
