Brought my dog in for a routine yearly visit where he was presenting a lame paw. The Dr on duty checked him over and performed the rest of the visit with the tests required to get prescribed medication. the Doctor prescribed some anti-inflammatory medicine and sent us home. Dr. Stacy and staff are wonderful. I feel so comfortable bringing our boy here for further care. Brought our Fox Red English Labrador here to be neutered and have a check-up. Surgery went well and our boy had a quick healthy recovery. Honest, professional, and prices are not outrageous. We were looking for a new veterinarian and clinic and we have definitely found it! Dr Stacy is absolutely wonderful! She is very knowledgeable and very good with our pets she is the vet I trust the most! She has always been able to help us when we see her and is always right on, I wish she had more help as she is so busy and super stretched she is only one person and has Soooo many emergency calls in a day, please remember this when you call and can't get in it is not that they don't want to help you it's that they can only do so much! I always enjoyed this clinics services before. Until the other day, I had 3 cats I took there; but never again. I called this place and told them I had an emergency. My cat had labored breathing and was lethargic. If I hadn't of found him, I had little doubt he would've died that day. I called this business and a young woman answered. I explained my situation and told them I understood I was creating an inconvenience and would gladly pay extra, but the cat needs immediate attention. The young lady told me the earliest he could come in was May 20th.... that was 24 days in the future!!!! I kindly told her he would be a museum quality mummy by then, and hung up... I called the vet down the road in Sutter Creek, and they said bring him in.... after 3 days it looks like he is on the road to recovery (thank god for pet insurance)! the moral of the story, if you want a Vet you can build a relationship with and depend upon when the situation is dire; when time is critical????? then dont go here!!! read more

I am so disappointed with the care from this clinic!! I had to wait forever for an appointment, and then was not given proper instructions for home care. It was ONLY when I called back, that I found out, what was in my dogs notes. After the Vet came in to see our dog initially, she NEVER came back in to tell us anything. I would NEVER go to this clinic again. They seem to be more concerted with money then their clients! Jeanette was VERY UNPROFESSIONAL! I was 9 minutes late getting to the appointment. I was informed by the staff that there is a 10 minute reschedule policy. I looked at my cell phone and it was exactly 10:10. She said by their clock, it was 10:12. There were no other customers present. She said she would check with the vet to see if there was time to see our cat. But no, the vet was already seeing the next pet even though there was no one else there. Incredibly rigid. Some people come early some people come a little bit late. It all tends to work out, but not at this place. I'll be looking for another vet. read more

Very poor customer service. Definitely under staffed. Had an appointment for a vaccine, was told they called to remind me, but I found no reminder. I showed up at 2 and was told my appointment was at 10. I asked if I can wait to get the shot (she was scheduled and they had her file pulled for the day) , and was told I'd have to reschedule. Next appointment 5 weeks out. Call to cancel appointment and had to wait over 30 mins to get the phone answered. Don't take new customers if you can't take care of them. Bad for business! read more

We graduated tonight!! Ashkii has came a long way, he is very smart, and won several awards including most improved, but he still needs more socialization, so as most improved, we were invited back to the next set of sessions for free!! Very kind. Lilla Jakobsen and her team (Robin, Carolyn and Owen) are just awesome!! They are brave, knowledgeable, kind and completely dedicated, plus the cost is very reasonable! This place is absolutely amazing! They were able to take in my cat for an emergency rattlesnake bite right away. I called ten minutes before arriving and they took him back right as soon as I got there. I was so upset and distraught and they were so kind to me. They knew exactly what to do and how to help my boy. He had to stay the night so I brought his food, treats, toys, and some things that smell like me. I called several times to check on him and they were so sweet to me and my cat. I am so grateful for this place. When I was calling vets prior to calling them, the other local vets were very rude to me on the phone. Jackson Creek Veterinary Clinic is the best vet in Jackson. I believe the vets name was Dr. Matt Garvin. He was so kind and explained everything so thoroughly. My sweet and amazing cat, Banjo is alive because of the team at this veterinarian office. We started with Jackson Creek in 1999 when they were still in the yellow house. In recent years we thought the waits had become excessive and the prices to be a bit high, but we felt a loyalty to them. Last week our senior cockapoo suddenly was unable to walk, or stand. It was absolutely heartbreaking to watch. We called to get her in and explained how she was suffering. We met with total indifference and were told their day was full. When I asked what else I could do, I was given the numbers of emergency services in El Dorado Hills and Sacramento. The person on the phone was cold and uncaring in her manner and statements. We contacted Acorn Hills, where we have never been, and had an appointment within an hour. We found the staff to be friendly and caring. We also felt the price for the appointment and medications were fair. And they called to check to see how our beloved pet is doing. read more

I've taken multiple dogs here over the years and have had mixed experiences. In general the vets are great but there are exceptions so it's a matter of the luck of the draw unless you request a specific doctor. But over the years the prices relative to other vets within a reasonable drive have gone through the roof and since I'm a fast food worker my dog is suffering and I feel bad about that. But the biggest problem is in the front of the house where you're feeling ignored at best and dismissed or worse by the staff in front. There's an easy fix to this and that's to replace all of the front office staff beginning with Kristen since she is clueless about customer service. Believe me when I say that I wouldn't last a day working in a fast food restaurant if I treated people the way you will get treated when you go here. Probably better to drive an hour to a clinic that actually appreciates you as well as you would be when purchasing lunch from a fast food restaurant. read more

I have called on several different occasions to try and get my dogs appointments and every time they tell me they are booked and cannot see them. My dogs are both established patients. They have horrible customer service. Staff definitely needs better training. I worked for a veterinarian in Sonora and we made our established patients a priority. read more

I took my dog Clyde here in June 2021 because he was experiencing severe vomiting and this clinic was easy to get in touch with and was able to squeeze us in to the very busy schedule. The front desk receptionists were kind and checked in on me in the waiting area multiple times. The vet staff clearly explained everything they were doing and outlined our options, and were patient and helpful as I asked my questions. If I lived in Jackson, I would want this to be my dog's primary clinic because they were all wonderful. Thank you for everything! read more

Pros- These folks have been our vets for 15+ years. Overall I love the doctors and think they do a wonderful job as our vets! They are kind and compassionate, send condolence cards when the worst happens and explain every procedure and why. Love Dr. Amanda, Dr. Bob and Dr. Stacey Cons- Most expensive vet around, for even the basic stuff. Negatively impacting upon their business, in my opinion, is the older office staff. Honestly, they make us feel like we're imposing upon their time, do not greet us as we come in the door, are always scowling, sheesh, I don't want a band, but a polite hello, we will be with you in a minute is not too much to expect. Have since found another vet in town that we are much happier with and who does care that we have a choice for our pets good care. read more

We have been taking our dogs and cats to Jackson Creek for 10 years, Dr. Stacey is wonderful as is all the staff. Their ability to cope with Covid-19 restrictions, and still provide quality service has been remarkable. The office staff tries their best to help, but, with all the restrictions of "face to face" and staffing issues, there are challenges. We have managed through some emergencies this year with phone calls and visits. I think they have done a great job during this trying time. read more

Been taking my dogs there for 15 years. We like the Drs but staff turn over up front is awful. Voice mail says we're short staffed sorry for long waits, order prescriptions and same thing might take longer. They are still insisting on ridiculous mask wearing. Their voice mail tells you all the things they can't do for you. I'm being picky but lack of professionalism is something I notice in businesses. Dr Bob the owner is basically non existent and it shows. Used to have 8 or 9 vets now down to 2. We like them both but have to wonder why all the others have left. read more

I would like to thank Dr Matt & his staff at Jackson Creek Veterinary for getting my fur baby in on such short notice. I called at 8:45 am on Friday, Sept.6, 2019 & they got us in at 1:30 . Although the situation with my Carlos was obvious , it was the hardest decision I've EVER had to make. We could have ran tests but he was about to turn 16 years old & very sick. I just wanted him to be comfortable. Dr Matt did not pressure me to do anything specific , he just told me my options. ( & Keeping Carlos' age & comfort in mind,) I decided to humanely euthanize him. I felt so guilty but Dr. Matt told me I was doing the right thing for our baby boy. Dr. Matt treated Carlos last December for a bladder infection. Again, Dr. Matt was so kind & gentle not only to our baby boy but with us as well. ( As well as his staff) Carlos' is survived by his buddy, Riley. ( 5 years old) I will never use another veterinary , ONLY Dr. Matt to trust my babies with! He & his staff are absolutely , positively #1 ! They have been our family veterinary since 2003, and what a wonderful group of caring people. In 2005 as a new widow our cat Spunky was attacked by a raccoon and badly injured. The staff was not only caring but took the time to fully explain the surgery that would be needed. And the cost was reasonable. When I have taken Spunky in for shots, she has remained calm, unlike with our previous veterinarian. We actually adopted Spunky in '03 from this clinic, who partnered with a local animal adoption group. Which makes me love Jackson Creek Veterinary Clinic even more. read more

While on vacation, my sister was watching our 'second child', Hugz, a little Shihtzu mix. Well, we got home and got a call from her that Hugz was vomiting & they were off to the vet. Jackson Creek was able to get her in on short notice on a Saturday afternoon, while we got back in the truck and drove 2 more hours to be with our little pooch. We not only found the staff loving and professional, but they took the time to explain exactly what may be going on and what they wanted to do, and what the next step would be. We were firmly assured our dog was in great hands. Compared to the SF Bay Area, the prices were reasonable, the facility clean, and the staff caring and patient. I have been using Jackson creek vet for a while but recently I had to go in due to my dog having a hematoma in his ear. I believe I saw doctor Mitch and he was super good with my dog, he ended up lancing his ear right then and there, explained to me what to expect and that this could be a re occurring thing and he could need surgery if this does not fix the issue. I'm glad he started with the least invasive thing first to at least give it a try, and if not I know what to expect if this doesn't work. Jackson Creek has been our choice of vet for 13 years now. They have treated all our pets with love and compassion. Even when we had a pet that was at their end, they made us feel as if it was their family member too, that was going. The way they handle putting our fur-children to sleep, made it much easier for me to say goodbye. When adding a new pet, they have wonderful packages to get all the shots and things they'll need to be happy, healthy pets. Both Managment staff thought it was professional to roll eyes at each other after I pointed out their mistakes. Sadly we will not return even after the vet was recommended by USDavus vet hospital... definitely will make the drive to Davis CA. Never been tested so poorly. Took my American Bulldog there because she was limping badly on her front right leg. After two trips and over $500.00, two x-rays, was told she had bone cancer. And recommend to remove leg at $2000.00 to save her. Went home and told wife, who cried. We did not think taking the leg off was a good idea for such a big dog. So we just babied her, and she got better. She is running, playing and swimming. She did not have cancer, but probably twisted her shoulder. All they want is your money. Beware !! read more

Used to be a friendly place, as of late the bedside manner is horrible. Went to a clinic day and my number was called while I was waiting a disabled couple came inside to sit down, the front practice manager Kristen said if your number hasn't been called you can't wait inside in a very rude demeanor. The wife said they lost their seats outside and that they were disabled and the manager with no care or remorse still made them go outside. We like Dr. Matt but the ladies in front are beyond rude and act so cold toward the people. From what I see, Jackson creek vet only cares about the money more then they do the people or pets. Went to get flea stuff after visit and they said no because I didn't have a regular exam, clinic day doesn't count but if I like they can make an appointment. I won't be returning their anymore. Blue oaks or Ridge rd. Vet will be the choice for me. read more

My friend recommended Dr. Bob to me for my dog, who has been pretty gimpy. She was diagnosed by another vet with arthritis, but I wanted to get a second opinion. Even though his schedule was booked, Dr. Bob made time to see her. His staff was super friendly, and made us comfortable until she was seen. Dr. Bob took time to get to know my dog and me, and didn't rush through our appointment. He was very kind and thorough, and explained everything to me as he checked her. I can see now why my friend drives an hour one way to have her dogs taken care of at the clinic. I would definitely recommend them, and would use them again. read more

This is a follow up from my prior review. I received my dogs medical records and they are incorrect stating the wrong pet age and they did not list all his records. If they had checked the prior vets records which I provided or listened to me anytime during the visit , maybe they would be correct. This is another example of lack of attention to detail that could put your pet's life at risk. I will never be back to this cavalier practice concerned about the bottom line and front office staff that are rude to customers. read more
