My dog has right side heart issues and develops abdominal ascites. Until we get the situation under control she has to be drained about every 10-14 days. I have taken her to 3 different emergency vets to have this dealt with. All Creatures was 1\2 the price of the other places for the same exact procedure. I was told by the staff the owner keeps the prices down in order to help people afford emergency service for peoples pets. We are so grateful for the care our dog received here during a very scary emergency. The surgeon, Dr. Case, was incredibly kind, patient, and thorough. She walked us through every step of the process, which meant so much--especially since the first emergency vet we visited was a large corporate practice, and you could truly feel it. We felt rushed and overwhelmed there, with very little explanation or personal care. In contrast, this is a small practice, and you genuinely feel taken care of from start to finish--which is incredibly important when you're dealing with a situation serious enough to require an emergency vet. On top of the compassionate care, the cost here was half of what the first vet quoted, which was a huge relief during an already stressful time. The receptionist, Izzy, was so sweet and gentle with our dog and incredibly attentive to every question and request we had. He truly made us feel welcome and supported from the moment we walked in. We've actually been here once before when our dog was a puppy, and that experience was also excellent. Looking back, we really wish we had come here first and avoided the poor experience we had elsewhere. We also want to thank Alison, Amanda, and Silvia, the nurses who cared for our dog during his stay. They were compassionate, attentive, and kept us consistently updated. We were especially touched that they allowed us to stop by after surgery to bring food he liked and help encourage him to perk up. I had a very sick chicken (rooster) that I had been treating and unfortunately whatever was wrong with him I was not able to turn it around. I called All Creatures and they were very accomodating and told me to bring him in. I saw Dr. Laru and she was more than kind and caring. She took her time to discuss things with me, did not rush me at all, and then performed humane euthanasia. She was very compassionate. I enjoyed talking to her because it turns out that she knows alot of the vets that I have used in the past that have now retired. She was refreshing to talk to. The gentleman at the front desk was also very nice. The whole experience was top notch and I can highly recommend them. I am grateful that they made a sad situation and a hard decision a little easier. read more

No one really wants to go to the animal emergency room right? But if you have to go, I feel like All Creatures tries its best to take care of you and your animal friends. My puppy is like my baby and when he is hurt I have to make sure he is okay. We called All creatures on a panicked Saturday evening and the lady at the front desk had the nicest voice and temperament, I almost cried when she said they could see him and to come as soon as possible. Such genuine care here, even over the phone. They took Bo back pretty quickly and we were anxiety riddled thinking he may have to be put under or surgery or whatever worst-case thoughts go through your mind. But less than 10 minutes later Bo was back with us in the waiting room, we were given meds, and sent on our way! The Vet even came out herself to tell us what a good boy he was and that he would be fine. It cost approx $250 for the visit, evaluation, bandage, and a bottle of medicine. Worth if to make sure he was okay. They do help ALL creatures here- they had a few dogs, cats, and a duck in the waiting room. Thank you for all that you do and while I hope to never return (ha!) My daughter and I brought our beloved Bunny here two months ago. Valiant effort to help her through the night led to us being able to transfer her to our regular vet who happens to be a rabbit specialist. Our vet did an amazing job attending to her but didn't have night staff, so we took her home and kept an eye on her. She started to fail, so we drove back to All Creatures, but Bunny didn't make it. The staff were so kind and sad themselves cuz Bunny was a cutie and a fighter. Thank you to all the excellent staff who really went above and beyond to help her and us. I was also grateful for their professionalism, warmth and care, and explaining cremation information and providing the memento of her little nose and paw prints we later received. 5 stars doubled! read more

The were patient and kind when I brought my cat it with a high fever. And they followed up after I took her home to make sure she was okay.

The evening of Thursday, February 6th my boyfriend and I brought his dog in to be cremated. Everything went smoothly until the next day when I called and asked if we could add on a paw print & nose print stamp to the cremation service. The girl on the phone took my credit card info and said she would send me a receipt for the order and a receipt for the payment. The entire weekend went by and I never received an email so I called back Monday February 10th and the girl who answered the phone this time could not find any record for the paw & nose prints. She was very apologetic and gave me the phone number to the cremation place since our dog was already picked up from them. I am so heartbroken at this point because I thought it was too late and we wouldn't get the prints done since they couldn't find my order, even though the girl from Friday assured me it was placed. I don't remember the names of either of the girls I talked to but the second one said she didn't work Friday so I definitely talked with two different people. The following morning I called the cremation place and they said my order for the paw print & nose print was actually placed even though the vet told me it wasn't. I checked my bank account and it was never charged. I never called the vet back because I was so disappointed with their lack of organization or ability to communicate between staff to figure out what was going on but somehow they figured out the error and called my boyfriend for payment even though I had already given them my card info on Friday. This confusion never would've happened if we were offered the options with the cremation when we were there Thursday night, but we weren't in the right state of mind to even remember to ask for those things since we were so devastated from losing our pet. The person I talked to Friday never charged my card, and the other person I spoke to Monday couldn't find a record of the order at all. Another letdown on top of this whole thing is that the girl who helped us in person on Thursday night told us we'd get a name plate to go with the urn and we didn't get one. Even though they outsource the cremation it was very affordable compared to other places I have been, but I wouldn't wish this experience on anyone while trying to deal with heartbreak. This staff needs to be trained better, especially when dealing with customers having emergencies or in highly stressful situations. read more

The staff here treated me with great kindness and respect when I unfortunately had to bring my hamster in for end of life support. While my sweet Sora passed before medication could be given, and my time in the office was a teary, intense blur-- I'm still blown away by how well we were treated and the gentleness/kindness received. I do remember they brought us back immediately, and the facility was quite clean, smelled fresh, and Sora was quickly tended to. Went here at night for a emergency with my bunny where he wouldnt eat for almost 2 days, wouldnt drink, was PALE lost all of his weight and went from black to dark grey and limp. There was one other human being with a rabbit when we went and they didnt take us in for. 3+ hours. My bunny was in so much pain he very loudly grinded his teeth that the whole hospital could hear it. They "examined " him for 20 minutes when it was clear that he was almost at the brink of death. On top of all that they gave us a hefty bill and a "Prescription" that THEY denied when i tried ordering him more medicine. Very disappointed in this place and will not be coming here. Its a shame that they are the only open emergency clinic in my area. Do better. read more

I had to go to vet for my rabbit on Saturday. I called them at 7am and they told me to call back at 8am when the doctor came. I called them again at 8am and was able to talk with the assistant who agreed to admit my rabbit for suspected GI stasis. When I arrived 20 mins later at the clinic, my rabbit was immediately admitted. The assistant brought my rabbit to the vet to be examined and 30 mins later, the vet called me on my cell phone for her diagnosis. She recommended xray & blood work but I politely declined as my rabbit showed normal body temperature & no pain during examination. I asked if I could have some medications and would monitor my rabbit's condition at home and the vet agreed. During the quote for the procedure & medications, I noticed that one medication that was crucial for GI stasis was not included, so I asked the vet and she agreed to give it to me (Note: I am an experienced rabbit owner for more than 15 years, so I know what medications for GI stasis from my past vet visits). My rabbit is okay now and happy to be home. The clinic was courteous and not pushy. Good clinic during emergency. read more

Our cat was transferred here for post-surgery monitoring after being treated at another clinic. We were charged $500 for less than 10 hours of overnight observation and fluids -- expensive, but understandable for emergency care. However , in the morning, we were surprised with another $50 charge because they said they had to administer painkillers (even though we had already provided his medication in a bag). They later explained it had to be given through fluids, which felt like a technicality used to justify extra fees. It felt like constant upselling, especially when the doctor came in to talk to us about the estimate initially. Sure, they may care for pets and animals, but profits come first. read more

It was Friday night and one of our dogs was yelping and shaking his head. Not a major emergency, but didn't want to have him in pain waiting for a regular vet to open. I called several emergency clinics, but they were unable to take him in. One of those vets referred me to All Creatures. Our experience with Dr. Natalie was excellent. They removed a Foxtail from his ear as I expected. We were in and out within an hour and a half. That has to be a record for any emergency veterinary services. They obviously had my dog's best interest at heart. I would highly recommend taking your pet here if in need. read more

I took my green cheek conure: Luna here on Friday 7/12/24 since she had what I thought at the time was a night scare (which actually ended up being a seizure) that following morning where she was thrashing around and screaming. Later on during the day she was very weak and fell off my shoulder so I knew it was serious and she needed to be seen. A bird vet that sees birds weren't open unfortunately but recommended us to go to here since they saw birds. My parents took my bird there and we all assumed they were bird specialists since they saw birds. I ended up speaking on the phone with the front desk staff girl: Grace who went over the invoice with me which was a whopping $1500 we paid and the doc was not going to take a look at Luna until they were paid. They didn't know what was wrong with Luna but wanted to charge me $550 for the radiograph and interpretation which I ended up paying for and they thought Luna needed overnight care and next day care so we paid another $500 for those services since at the time we didn't know what was wrong with Luna. The staff was horrible at their communication and Grace had promised us a call from the doctor that we never got and they made my family and I wait in the dark as we were waiting the next day to get a call from the doctor who was supposed to go over the radiographs and tell me if Luna could go home. They made us all wait around at our house for a call (we live 30 minutes away w/out traffic) that never came so my poor parents just ended up going to pick up my poor bird since we never heard back from them. I ended up having to call twice and finally got in touch with the vet tech Laura, who was nice but didn't know her own protocols and rules and she and the docs had no idea that I had wanted a call from them. Laura also failed to go over the medicine and over half the things that were stated in my notes. The radiographs didn't show any broken bones which I already knew and they didn't know what was wrong with my bird. The medicine Luna came home with was a antibiotic mix of (Doxycline/Baytril) which was for pain for Luna but they failed to tell us what it was for and why Luna needed it. The medicine Luna came home with had no label that said if it needed to be refrigerated. The medication didn't end up helping her and she started to look and get worse and she looked the same when she came home and didn't look any better like they stated. I then took her to the other doctor after this place didn't tell me anything and took my money and that doctor told me and diagnosed Luna with a heart murmur (that this place docs failed to notice and diagnose) and the second doctor also thought Luna had heart disease after the doctor saw Luna radiographs after I had the (this place send over Lunas radiographs to the second doctor). The radiograph interpretation from the radiologist believed my bird Luna had a small liver and which indicated Luna might have liver and kidney disease). I was told 2 Different interpretations by two different sources and didn't know who to believe, I was the one that figured out my poor little bird was actually having seizures. Doxycline baytril is used for birds with respiratory issue and infections. Luna didn't present those symptoms and came in weak and lethargic and tired. I was never told by the (this place that Doxycline/baytril causes all these symptoms and can cause SEIZURES and should NEVER be given to patients with seizures disorders). This place has no idea what they are doing with parrots and killed my bird negligently and they also failed to notice Lunas heart murmur too which the (other doctor) had picked up right away. This place wasn't honest with us about them not being bird specialist and the terrible practice manager: Kristie who I emailed back and forth with was horrendous and unpleasant to talk to when I brought up my complaint with her and had asked for a partial refund (she was dismissive, condescending, fake, rude and non apologetic and tried to blame me for everything and she lied and said that they are very transparent about telling people that they aren't bird specialists). My birds seizures ended up killing her. I'm heartbroken beyond belief and nothing can bring her back. I wish I had never trusted this place with my bird and had researched their online reviews before I came. In my experience and opinion this place is all about the money. Read other peoples bad experiences and they all are similar to mine. I hope I can help others make better smarter choices than I did of where to take their beloved parrot and I highly suggest you take your bird anyplace else but here. Seizures are actually quite common in parrots. They had only told me about UC Davis as the other option only after they took $1500 from my family. There's no EXCUSES for their negligence, Luna would still be alive if I had never taken her to them. Go elsewhere for your precious parrots. For the third time in as many years we were referred to contact this office for an emergency with one of our fur babies, and for the third time we were told they were not actually available. This time was the dr was leaving early. I do not understand why they continue to be referred and why they continue to say they are an emergency office with evening hours when they are not ever available. I could not put into words how amazing this place was! My expectations were met above and beyond!!! I know working with animals is hard and the demand is high right now the stuff did amazing and though my animal may not make it through because I did bring her in not doing well at all they did everything they could for her and I do have high hopes that she'll make a recovery. She's already doing great after being seen last night. If you really care about your pets and want somebody else to do the same this is a great place to take them have compassion and know they try though they do not guarantee they can save your animal. They definitely do try their hardest too!! I don't give many reviews, but I felt it in my heart to reach out and give one to them because they deserve it more than anyone else!!! I'm so glad they were there when we needed them on a Saturday late afternoon. We had called two other emergency vets and they said they wouldn't take us. Our little 13yo Shih Tzu became lame in his hind legs while running to greet me. He was dragging his hind end around and we were panicked. We told them we would be arriving around 4:30 and we were greeted as soon as we got to the door. We explained our problem to them and were escorted right into an exam room while they took our little guy back for X-rays and blood tests. The vet came in and introduced herself to us and we discussed the problem. Even with the X-rays it wasn't clear what happened except that he is missing the cushion between the discs in his neck area which may have pinched the nerves in his spine leading to his legs. They gave him a shot for his pain and sent us home with more pain pills and instructions to keep him as immobile as possible, no stairs, no running, etc. He is fine now. We are just keeping an eye on him. Dr Laura La Rue and her staff were great and very nurturing and efficient with our emergency. We will go there again if another problem arises. read more

I've came here now numerous times and every time I am so happy that there's an emergency vet with such kind and knowledgeable staff. The first thing I love about this vet is that they accept exotic animals. It is so hard to find a vet, let alone an emergency vet in the area that will take an exotic pet. Second, the staff here is so kind and extremely empathetic. You can tell that they love and care for pets. Third, the staff is extremely knowledgeable. Dr. Smith knew so much about ferrets and Jacob knew so much about rabbits (rabbits are also considered exotic and you'd be surprised how many vets will deny taking in a rabbit). We are so grateful this wonderful emergency vet exists. It is hard sometimes to find an emergency vet that will see an exotic pet (IE, not a cat or dog.) When our bird had something fall on his leg and break it, All Things was referred to us by our regular avian vet for after hours care and they really delivered! I was able to call and get permission to have him seen, and rushed right over around 830pm yesterday (a Thursday.) They immediately rushed him back. There were a couple other cases being seen already. I knew the leg was broken and expected x-rays. Dr. Smith was quick, professional and so kind explaining to my daughter what was happening with her pet. All the ladies in the office were great and easy to deal with. We were in and out with a temporary splint and pain meds for our bird, along with copies of his radiographs and chart to give our regular vet today, within two hours! I know we also got extremely lucky with catching them at the right time, but even if we had to wait longer it would have been totally fine with us for the wonderful care our pet received. At the end of the day we know vetmed is expensive, and I was really worried about the cost. I was absolutely shocked with how affordable All Things was for the treatment of our pet, which included sedation twice, X-rays and pain management. Their prices were extremely reasonable and we are very grateful for this. I cannot recommend them enough and while I hope to not have to visit again anytime soon, they will absolutely be our new go-to after hours vet. read more

We saw customers yelling at techs both times we were here (drop off/pick-up) and it's not okay. I'm torn between weather or not I should give 4 or 5 stars. Overall, I felt like my pup received amazing care, but there were some troubles along the way. No trip to an emergency vet is pleasant. All Creatures took amazing care of my dog from what I could tell. They took him in as quickly as they could and treated him for what he needed. They made sure my pup was taken care of and that he came home happy and healthy and I am so grateful! Some cons: it's still curbside service, and it's hard to tell how long you'll be waiting based on that. Because it's curbside, there's no bathroom. So, two hours of waiting and you're not sure where you stand in the que and you gotta go to the bathroom...what do you do? I called them and asked about the bathroom and was told that I needed to drive down the street, and that it could be about an hour longer so I had plenty of time. They appear to be quite busy and possibly understaffed. But again, it's hard to tell from curbside. They're communicative over the phone and quick to answer which is nice. But, after my nearly 5 hours of sitting in their parking lot with my sick pup finally being checked in, and them swiping my credit card for a fairly large chunk of change-I'm driving away and I get another call, from another person to go over the estimate with me.....that I had literally just paid minutes earlier. The other thing that bothered me is that when I signed the estimate, there is a little section that says the charges can vary by $100 or more and that they will attempt to contact you if it's over that amount. When I was told my pup was cleared for discharge and ready to be picked up, there was no mention of my new total until I was in the parking lot to pick him up. The new charge was $600 more. I was ready and able to pay it, but the fact that there was no warning was a bit jarring. It was annoying that they were able to tell me twice the night before how much I needed to pay, but then they couldn't call tell me how much more it would be the next day. They could have mentioned that when they told me my dog was ready to come home. Many people might not be prepared to pay an extra $600 without some sort of warning before arriving. Overall I would still completely recommend this place. I felt like my pup received the best possible and quickest care that was available and I would take him back here in the event of another emergency (which hopefully never happens). Even though it wasn't cheap, and communication around the pricing could be done better, I felt like this place was fairly priced. read more

Hours are 6pm to 8am. I didn't know this emergency vet was so close to me! I have gone to the VCA animal clinic on Bradshaw in the past, but last night, when I had an immediate need for my dog, I called my vet, Blue Ravine Animal Hospital, and got their answering message which had me call a Sacramento emergency vet. They were full and gave me the phone number for this place...which, to my delight, was minutes away from home! The service was quick and impeccable, they took my info over the phone, and then a tech came out to my car to get my dog. I waited in the car for a couple hours while they worked on her, Dr. Dekker calling me with frequent updates. I was very grateful for the information he provided, thorough and in layperson's terms. When they sent me home after stating that they'd have to keep her overnight, the tech told me I could call him all through the night, as often as I wanted, to check in on her condition. My husband and I visited All Creatures with our pet rat, Telly, who was in severe respiratory distress. When we arrived we were immediately greeted by friendly and professional staff who put us at ease as much as possible and immediately began the intake process. While we were filling out the forms a vet tech took our Telly to the back to give him oxygen. Our boy was just about 2 at the time, which is a hard place to be with a pet rat. The vet, Dr. Natalie, saw us very quickly. She was very warm and good-hearted. She gave us all our options and didn't pressure us. We ultimately decided to have our boy put to sleep. All the staff were wonderful. Our vet tech was so sweet and sympathetic. We appreciated that so much. All Creatures also sent us a sympathy card signed by their staff. It was very touching and greatly appreciated. If we are ever in an emergency situation again, we will definitely return to All Creatures. Highly recommended. read more

Horribly horribly crooked and money driven. This is the TRUTH... do not go here if you genuinely need care and attention for your animals. This place will charge you a lot of money and lie to you. Some of the worst energy we've ever experienced when it comes to veterinary care... the people who work at the front are horrid, rude, and condescending. I was told to call back at a certain time because the doctor who helped my cat was not available and then when I called, he still was *conveniently* unavailable and then they denied we mentioned anything about a UTI and refused to help my cat further (who was urinating blood and crying)... spent $1,100 for zero solutions or answers. I also never got my cat's records sent over after calling and requesting it three separate times because we gave them attitude when we were frustrated with what happened. This is a sick place with sick doctors and sick employees. Non animal people. Non PEOPLE people and liars. Avoid at all costs and save you and your animals time. read more

We brought our new baby guinea pig in because he was in distress, cold and not breathing. The staff were amazing people, kind and understanding. Unfortunately, they could not save our baby, but they went above and beyond to try and get him back after he went into cardiac arrest. He was sadly just too far gone. I don't remember our dr.'s name under the extreme stress, but she is one of the best vets I have ever met here. So HONEST, kind, knowledgeable...she took her time explaining everything to us and helping us work through the loss. She truly cares about the animals (and humans) and not just bringing in money. They didn't even charge us for some things! I have had such bad luck finding a good vet in Sac but I will be switching to this clinic for my other animals, for sure.
