It is what it is. Some of the worst service I've ever seen. Took my out of town friends here (for science) and we sat at the booth upstairs for 20 minutes with no service regardless of two different servers saying they'll BRB. So we left and headed downstairs to the bar and ordered some shots there. The price was effing ridiculous: five shots of really bad tequila was $30. Get real. Music-wise: DJ'd pop music. Crowd: Pubescent. Dance floor: crowded and lively. Lot of awkward guys trying to dance with girls which is very, very entertaining. Drink selection/prices: Not the place to drink unless you're good with a Molson Canadian. If you want to get "down and dirty" (as a local so eloquently put it), then go here. Oh Jacks, Jacks, Jacks. You're like crack, don't like you much, but just can't stop coming back here. Jacks is the epitome of college/university bars. It's jam packed every night with students drunk out of their minds. Security does a great job though of making sure you're out when you've gone way past your limits. I know I've been kicked out many a time. Too many memories. The smoking area is pretty large..I'd say bigger than their dancefloor actually. But really, what brings the crowd here is their super super cheap drinks. Dollar beers on Wednesday? 2 Dollar Tequila on Tuesday? Wait..didn't I have an exam..? People usually don't go here once they're over the age of 21. Lots of underage people around too, so be wary of that. Oh, and apparently they have cheap and good food too during the day time, but I can't attest to that. read more

I want to like Jack's - it has a great location, decent drink prices, and it's packed with students on the weekend. Unfortunately the horrendous service and slimy management kills it for me. They advertise an "All you can eat" wings special on a banner on their front door, but they act dumb and refuse to honour the promotion. Their 29 cent wings are a mediocre deal, but they are small and don't even come with carrots or celery. Serving staff are incompetent. Every time I come here I see a bunch of obviously new and inexperienced girls who were likely hired for their looks but not given any real training. I've always had great experiences at jacks... One of my favourite bars to go to on the weekend. However, the people who run this bar are just a joke. Terrible management. Guys have dress codes, girls can go in half naked. And when you try to get in touch with management via social media or email they straight up do not give you the time or day. I always say I hate Jack's, yet I still almost always end up here at some point during the night. Mainly because it is a popular joint for university students and it's conveniently located right on Richmond. Plus, dollar beers and $.29 wings on Mondays? What more can a girl ask for, right?! Absolute trash. Waited in line for over an hour, paid 10$ cover got sent upstairs because of capacity downstairs, was told "you have to buy something to get down stairs" so I asked for a shot of tequila. The bartender ASKED me for a 5$ tip-??? I mean sure have it. All of our receipts were wrong, after 20 minutes of hassle, I ended up paying a 36$ tab for one shot. (36$ on top of the tip of course). When we got downstairs, we were told no standing and forced to sit down. We tried to leave but they wouldn't let us leave? While we were at the door, the bouncer was telling us "sorry you can't leave, you paid to get in here" not really sure what that was about ahaha. To be honest I don't mind Jack's, it's a great place to get some wings and catch a game with the boys on the many big screens and projection tv's everywhere. Or some late night clubbing upstairs with the DJ, and not to mention it's usually always pretty busy if not packed later at night with lines trying to get in, so get there early! But then on the other hand they have some of the worst service I have ever seen!! The wings are a plus though and only .29 cents each, except you can only order them 10 at a time and the service is so slow that it doesn't even make you want to order any more. I dunno great deals throughout the week including dollar beer wednesday's but the service is just so crap I don't think I'll come here unless I absolutly have to. read more

Location is great and so are the prices. However the prices are comparable to Warehouse which has better food, food selection and service. I doubt I'll go back unless asked to do so. Not really a great choice. The open windows at the front was cool however service was ok at best and the floors seemed dirty. read more

It's a typical college/university bar. Cheap drinks (beer is a great price but the mixed drinks are very small), cheap late night food (our table had a few things and shared, the only thing I would recommend are the onion rings), loud music and a packed dance floor. The bar itself isn't very clean and the floor is ridiculously dirty. The bouncers are friendly and have no issues asking people to leave if need be. The service was extremely slow and our orders/drinks were forgotten and had to be asked for at least twice. If you're over 21 you probably want to pass on this place. Great place for young students. Loved it as a student. Very young crowd. They play good music, lots of top 40. Cheap wings night on Wednesday night I believe and also $1.50 beers on Wednesdays and Thursdays I believe. This is one of the few places, if not the only one, in London where you literally can go out 7 nights a week and there is always a decent crowd. Yes, if you are over 25 You probably are probably part of the retired crowd in this place but nevertheless a great time. Bouncers, like most bars, seem to leave their sense of humor at home and switched it for a bigger ego but I guess that's part of their job. read more

I was here Tuesday evening for the .29 cent wings, and I thought they were fantastic. You have to order them in 10s, but they're not overly huge, so it's safe to say my boyfriend and I got through 20 easily haha I also liked the cheap domestic beer- $2.50 per bottle. We went around 7:30 and the place was actually pretty quiet. It gets pretty crazy after 10p.m. But the music is great, and the service isn't bad. The only problem I have with the place is the limited space. If you walk in while it's empty, you'd think it was huge. But when it fills up...it really fills up. Jacks used to be my favourite watering hole but after going there for a year straight every week...it starts getting old. They play the same music each dollar beer night or on the weekends and just gets boring after awhile. The food isn't good but what I do like about the place is the cheap drinks. This bar has the cheapest drinks in all of downtown so if your looking for a night just to get hammered with your friends this is definitely your spot. I also did notice regarding staff this place has a high turnover because every time I went there unnoticed new faces...this tells you something about management. I have never felt less than human until I came to this bar. My friends and I were discriminated against because we were women. This Monday night I was waiting in line and my friend had to get out of line as she needed to change her tampon. When she returned the bouncer told her she had to go to the back of the line (we had been waiting 20 mins already). When we tried to explain the bouncer told us we could talk to his manager. And so I did. When I explained the situation the manager said "if someone leaves to put money in his parking meter or go for a smoke, we won't them them come back in" and I said "yes but leaving to change a tampon isn't a choice it's a necessary thing" and he said "a girl can wear a tampon for 24 hours" to which I responded "sorry sir but have you ever bleed for a week straight" and he responded that I was "speaking foul and language like that didn't deserve to come into his bar" he then grabbed my and presented me to the bouncers to say "she is not allowed back in tonight" This was upsetting as it felt like because my friend was a female and had to take care of something for her personal health that we were treated differently and told we were "speaking foul" read more

I would rate 0 stars if possible. Jacks is my version of hell. Actually, I'd rather die the worst death possible and go to hell than go to Jack's. $20.25 gets you 3 jagerbombs accompanied by 2 waitresses (one taking your order and one bringing you your drinks) with a tremendous amount of sass. The management is terrible at Jacks. One of the managers who used to work at Jacks gave me the dirtiest look when I asked if one of their shots was on special. I give this place 1 star because it is the absolute worst. Here is why: they offer horrible service and their management needs to step up their game. When me and my friends went to wing night for the third time, and hours later, me and my roommates both got mild food poisoning. I puked my brains out and the next morning I felt sick.
