Best one I took at Indy was prepared by the efficient guy serving in Jack's Donuts of West Market St. Positively surprised that there were some customers taking the donuts & coffee there and he knew their names. 2nd morning I came (I repeated as many times I could along the two weeks of stay), he asked me: small capuccino with no flavor :-D? I love this downtown spot--especially since Square Donuts closed earlier last year--this location is ideal for downtown dwellers and business people. I LOVE a good donut, and Jacks always fits the bill. Best part about these donuts is that one can fill you up. They have a genius concept of turning their regular cinnamon rolls into donuts: two masterpieces into one! The dough is light and flaky, and the cinnamon in between the swirls is just enough. And then they ice it with chocolate or vanilla icing and sprinkle any topping you could ever imagine. I.e. Chocolate chips, cookie crisps, fruit loops, and more. They have regular long John's and cake donuts as well, and their standard cinnamon rolls include options like blueberry and strawberry or whatever else those kitchen wizards come up with that day. Stopped in because it was across from the Hilton we stayed at. First impression was not great. The staff was not friendly and she seemed annoyed that we asked what some of the options were and took our time picking out our donuts. Keep in mind there was no line, we were the only people in the store it was 10:30 am on a Monday. The donut holes were good.. but my Bavarian Cream filled donut was not filled! Menu online says they have gluten free donuts. Menu in person says they hav gluten free donuts. I stopped by yesterday and they said they didn't have them today and to come back tomorrow. I stop by the next day and they don't do that thing at all here while I'm staring at the in-person menu that says they have gluten free donuts. I stopped in here because I saw the afternoon happy hour special, and I walked out with one of the best apple fritters I have had. It was the size of a new born child, but was cooked to perfection. We walked in one night after dinner and a walk around the capital. We were staying across the street. The woman working said she doesn't usually work there, so she didn't know a lot about the donuts, ok? LOL. We tried a bunch. I think the applesauce was my favorite! The chocolate bread looking one wasn't very good. More of a bread than a donut. The long johns were just like any ole donut place. Needs a bit more cute decor. Got the job done though! They have some seating inside which is nice if you want to escape the heat! Once upon a time I worked in a bakery that was known for its donuts and Italian bread. These donuts remind me of those donuts but with a fun whimsy twist. I like how light and airy the glazed donuts are. Plus they also have a decent variety of donut holes which worth a whole star in my book. The staff is friendly and helpful. I'll stick with Dunkin Donuts. I decided to check them out today for a donut and iced latte. The donut was fine, but not spectacular and larger selection online than in the store. The bigger issue was I ordered an iced latte and the server didn't seem well informed. Not a big deal, but it was a basic order for an iced carmel latte. I guess I didn't pay enough attention to her making the drink cause I left the store with syrup and milk...no espresso. I didn't take a sip til halfway back to work and didn't feel like turning around to correct the error. Well, guess that is my first and last time for Jack's. This place ROCKS! Definitely recommend getting an entire box of cro-nuts (croissant glazed donuts). They will melt in your mouth and give you the best sugar buzz. The coffee is great and the service was even better. The best part? They are located two doors down from The Block Apartments!! Talk about convenient! I love how giant the donuts are too. I went to Jack's for the first time today after staying at the Hilton Hotel across the street. I will say I loved that I could just walk over there and get a donut so I will remember that for future reference. I was pretty impressed with the donuts I bought! I got the peanut butter donut and a twist donut. I did go in the afternoon so they weren't super fresh but still very tasty! They had quite a few flavors there so I will definitely be returning to try more flavors! The twist donut was chocolate and vanilla and delicious! Everything I expected it to be! The peanut donut was like a cinnamon roll with a peanut butter glaze and chocolate chips on top. Sooo yummy! There was also a PB & jelly one and a fruit pebbles donut both look good, but I didn't need any more donuts for one day. I recommend this shop and will be returning on my next trip to Indy! read more

Stopped by on my way home from work, so it was later in the afternoon. I wasn't expecting a huge selection at that hour, but since they're open late I figured I'd have a few options. Woman at the counter wasn't super friendly and nothing was labeled so I wasn't sure what was filled vs. what wasn't filled. Not exactly helpful for a first timer, especially when she wasn't exactly helping me along. Donuts themselves were good - tried a jelly filled and chocolate stick (unfilled Long John where I'm from, but "chocolate stick" seems to be what the cool kids are calling it up here.) Jelly filled was okay, but a little try and not much jelly. Chocolate stick was MUCH better. I'll give them another try with hopefully a peppier staff and try something other than the jelly filled donut. Nice little addition to downtown, will probably stop in again soon. read more

I am a fan of most Jack's Donuts around Indiana, but not this one. The workers were very rude. Three of my six donuts were stale. They messed up two of my six donuts, by giving me the wrong donuts, and they put them all in a bag with all of the icing falling off. I asked for a box before the order and they told me no. They were not enforcing the distancing due to covid, so I had people crammed up on me while trying to order. They should close this if they are not going to offer a good experience. Donut was OK, I had the Oreo and it was white icing with Oreo cookie crumbles on what seemed to be a cinnamon roll bun. The male cashier was pretty unfriendly and inattentive. Iced coffee had like two ice cubes, unstirred, and tasted pretty warm. Place was clean and prices were cheap, but the service and coffee was very mediocre. Alright Indy folks buckle up because this is going to be a bumpy ride. I'm going to say something that might get me in trouble but... JACK'S IS BETTER THAN LONGS. There I said it. Jack's donuts are quite massive and I love how you get one free after the Pacers win! That's the best thing ever. They are also open pretty late so whenever you are craving a late night snack head over to Jack's. They also deliver which is a huge bonus. Plus you can pay with card unlike Longs.... I love the variety of donuts they have too but I think my favorite is the cookies and cream donut. Just writing this review makes me want one now...I highly recommend Jack's for donuts!!! Solid, homemade donuts! Came here to grab a couple dozen ($30 for 26). The price was good and the donuts were massive. I tried a plain glazed cake and it was perfect! They have a few options for coffee as well but did not get any. Parking seems to be a little tricky around that area. read more

My friend and I impulsively stopped in to Jack's on a Saturday night. The place was packed, but I understood why. The aroma of freshly baked donuts filled the air. Much too tempting to resist. The old fashioned donuts and apple fritters were calling my name. Not a big fan of some of their long johns because many aren't filled. I made the right choice! The old fashioned donuts especially the one with chocolate chips was so stinking delicious. Oh my stars. This might be a new personal fave. WOW!!! I am FLAT OUT IMPRESSED! Start with... as I opened the door and was greeted VERY WARMLY by a busy staff serving early risers. My first time in and being from Chicago where there are plenty of donut specialists. THIS PLACE WAS AWESOME , the APPLE FRITTER should be renamed the LUNCH SPECIAL it was so HUGE and delicious . The other donuts were all just as tasty ( jelly , cinnamon ) . PRICES!!!! I bought 3 giant tasty loaded donuts and a Small and Large Coffee it was 9.50!!!! Jack's donuts has misreported hours. I went to get me a donut on National Donut Day 6/2/17 just before the end of the day (around 11:30 PM, hours reported being open til midnight), and they had obviously been closed for a while. No one in sight. Devastating blow to my National Donut Day 2017. I can't even review their donuts. I hope for your sake they are worth trying.
