Corry's Fine Dry Cleaning in Edmond's is the best all around Dry cleaner in the Seattle area…read more They did a beautiful job cleaning my area rug, dry cleaning my husband shirts, but the best is their ability to remove Mildew from Vintage clothing. The clothing was so bad, the lining in one of the outfits was disintegrating, everyone told me to burn them. They came back amazing and odor free. The alteration person "Mabel's Tailoring" is equally as good. She relined my vintage sweater/coat (the one with the disintegrating lining) she shorten one of my vintage dresses a made it a darling thigh length jacket and has done many other creative alterations for me. She does beautiful work and definitely thinks outside the box.

Ladies in shop know nothing about dry cleaning…read more I brought in 3 dresses, 2 vintage, after asking on the phone if they could handle vintage, and they assured me they could. Dresses were $40 each to dry clean, and I picked up today. **1 had a lot of doghair on it and linty area that looked as though it had been dragged on the floor. It still had spots on it that I had specifically pointed out. **1 had areas where they ironed it so hot it was "polished," and the young lady told me there was no way to avoid that when ironing. I told her there was, and how to do it, and that I had pointed out it was vintage with no fiber tag. She offered to run it back through and see if it could be fixed, but I don't know how they could "un-polish" the fabric. She didn't either. **last dress appeared to be ok. No offer of discount, just an offer to have them sent back to be re-done. Poor customer service, too expensive, and they *cannot* handle vintage items. Avoid.

Meeting her in person only confirmed it. She listened carefully to every single one of my needs and accommodated each one with such grace and care. My wedding dress is chiffon, and she created the most gorgeous custom bustle in the back that made it look beautifully layered and flowing. Beyond her extraordinary skill, she made me feel beautiful. She complimented me, lifted my spirits, and even took the time to teach me how to walk without tripping on my train. That kind of thoughtfulness goes so far beyond what any seamstress is required to do. After I picked up my perfectly hemmed, bustled, and altered dress, I had a small panic moment (actually, a major panic moment) when I realized the style looked slightly different than I remembered from when I originally ordered it from Anthropologie. I called Svetlana in a near meltdown, and without hesitation, she invited me to come in that very same day. Within 20 minutes, she had fixed everything flawlessly!! I was in disbelief!! Svetlana is a true miracle worker, and anyone who gets to work with her is incredibly, incredibly lucky. I will be forever grateful that she was a part of my wedding journey!!! I love you, Svetlana!!!!

Her advice saved me money and helped ensure my dress looks best for the big day, and I'm so grateful! I recommend coming to her if you need guidance on alterations needs! I will bring other clothes back to her bc she has my total trust now!

My wife and I were in a pinch to get our wedding dresses altered (due to taking a while finding the best dress) before our elopement in August. I reached out to several alterations places end of and they didn't have availability and were booking for fall weddings, it wasn't looking great. I was then referred to Iwona, and she was so reassuring and was very open to not only taking on my dress to be completed by Aug 1, but also my wife's dress. Iwona altered both of our dresses in tandem and kept both of them a secret to the other because we wanted a big surprise. Each of us went in for several quick sessions a few weeks in a row, it was so easy. She is a wizard at altering dresses, it is truly incredible the work she does. The number of hours and details and precision that goes into each dress that has to be exactly what the bride wanted. Iwona- you are truly so talented! I also typically do not like dresses and was not looking forward to wearing one when I was shopping, but when I met Iwona for initial consultation and talked about alterations, I felt reassured it could turn out really great. She made the dress I found come to life and feel so flattering through her alterations. She is so kind as a person and skilled at what she does, and I felt like we were on the same page the whole time. She even finished the dresses a few weeks before the date we decided just in case we wanted more adjustments. She absolutely puts 100% in her projects and is a powerhouse seamstress Iwona made me feel really beautiful in my dress and I can't thank you enough!! My wife's dress turned out so wonderfully, it was such a fun surprise to have a first look at our dresses and see Iwona's magic. I wish I had more dresses for Iwona to alter! I couldn't recommend Iwona enough for trusting someone with altering your wedding dresses. Thank you so much Iwona for your wonderful work and kindness.

I have never written a review before but the experience I had with Melanie of Details Sewing was so…read moreawful that I feel I need to respond. I had a very special dress I purchased for a cruise ship dinner "Dress up night" on my upcoming cruise. It was a blue satin dress with a blue lace overlay to just below the hips. I took it to Melanie to shorten the dress portion about 2 inches and take the "A" line look off the sides for a pencil skirt look. While I was wearing the dress, she pinned the hem and sides to what I wanted. The cost was $105.00. When I went to pick up the dress I was so shocked I couldn't come up with words. She did not hem the dress or take in the sides, she cut the entire lower portion of the dress off and hemmed it to the length of the lace overlay. I no longer have a dress, I have a lace tunic that I can't wear without a bottom skirt, pants, whatever. She totally ruined the dress. I asked her what was she thinking and she responded "Well, mistakes happen" I, of course, did not pay her. But now I did not have a dress for "Dress up night." My beautiful dress is gone. When I went to pick up the dress, she appeared to be experiencing emotional problems. I think she needs professional help.

She is timely in her delivery, honest with her pricing, and prompt in her communication. Melanie takes pride in her craft.
