Very disappointing, don't get the seafood and don't use the bathrooms they are nasty! My husband and I went here last Friday nite. When we arrived the patio was full and we were told there would be a 30 minute wait. We opted to eat inside as there was a table where we could still see and hear the band. Our waitress came by to take our order, we asked about any drink specials. We were told they are $2 beers, wells, margaritas and rum runners. We ordered two rum runners. We opted to try the appetizers instead of getting two meals, we had never been there before and thought we could try a few things. My husband ordered the crab cakes and bacon, cheddar fries. I ordered a 1/2 dozen raw and 1/2 dozen steamed oysters on the half shell and the fresh cut onion rings. My oysters came out all steamed and on a bed of ice. I told the server that was not what I ordered and she took it back. The server, the cook and someone else stood there and looked at them for a while. A while later the oysters came back out the way I had ordered the except the steamed ones were ice cold. All the oysters were served on the half shell but each oyster was in several pieces (I'm assuming they didn't know how to shuck them). I decided not to send them back. My husbands items came out as well. We ordered two more rum runners. I decided to order a small basket of scallops to share. They came out. All the seafood items were marginal. We decided to order one more drink and enjoy the band for a while. Then when our check came the total was $85 dollars. I was shocked to see that much and asked our server. She said the rum runners were $6 each. I asked her about the specials she told us about earlier and her response was she said $2 beers and wells and they have margaritas and rum runners. Well that's not what we heard over the band and crowd. For the $100 we spent for everything including her tip we could have had a really nice meal else where. Then to top it off both my husband and I had stomach problems for the rest of the nite. We will never return and if we do it will be burgers and beer. This place is so much better than back in 2009 (i lived in fl, moved away, came back..) great food, decent beer prices, seems popular.

Food is good., enjoy the fish and salads. Low tide so it smelled, nothing can be done for that but uneven pavement in parking lot friend twisted her ankle be careful, they should redo that area that is broken up. Tables inside very close to each other had to move when people came to next table. My wife enjoyed the dessert and everything else was great. read more

My buddy and I went to another restaurant and hadn't been greeted in nearly 10 minutes so we left and went to Jack Willie's.. The bartender Richie greeted and engaged us with a smile promptly and got us drinks and menus immediately.. He made blackened alligator appetizer as a suggestion, which I'd never had, and enjoyed it.. we will be back on vacation July 4th weekend and will be celebrating at the tiki with Richie and our friends at Jack Willie's! stopped in tonight for a quick glass of wine and a bite. I almost requested they make my dinner salad all spinach but I forgot and was pleasantly surprised to see the salad was made with mixed greens and not iceberg lettuce. It was delicious as was the chili! Please give this little gem a try & see for yourself instead of listening to the reviews from when it was under the previous owners. read more

Saturday lunch there 7/26/14. I had fish tacos, two large fish tacos that were absolutely delicious. Added their mouth-watering sweet potato fries for $2. I was full. Companions had hamburgers which were big-huge, thick and tasty. The renovation is beautiful, excellent ambiance. Our waitress was helpful, courteous and responsive. The only rub was when one of us asked for more mayonnaise for the hamburger. She said it would cost 30 cents. Big bottle of ketchup sitting there - take as much as you want, but mayo is 30 cents. Free refills on the soft drinks, but you want more mayonnaise? That'll be 30 cents. My friend was livid. Didn't bother me. It's stupid and off-putting and they need to change that right away, but I'll still be back. ( I just won't order the mayonnaise.) read more

I was really surprised at how they turned this place around! They had a nice variety of food, I say this because I was the only one in our party that was not a fish eater! Usually that leaves me out when we go to restaurants when my friends want fish! Visited this place a few yrs back under other management and at that time only had a drink and left we didn't feel we really wanted to eat there. It was different this time!! It was a warm and friendly place. Employees were all very nice and our server, I think her name was Christina always had a smile and gave good advice on what to order. I don't think it's that bad. But I just get basic chicken sandwiches and fries. But my ex and daughter hate everything about everything on the menu. They say the fish is always fishy and everything tastes like garbage. His exact words are "this place is the scourge of Oldsmar" and it's a shame Bc the potential w location. Go for the atmosphere and people watching, it's a great mix. The food is very good, you can't beat their burgers or shrimp tacos and they usually have a band playing. Yes, it can get loud but if you want quiet you can stay at home. Go to Jack Willies to have some fun! read more

For lousy service and even worse food ~ check out Jack Willies Tiki Bar in Oldsmar, FL ~ and if you choose the right food, you might even go home with food poisoning (which I did). This place will definately go down on my list as one of the worst places to dine, even if the atmosphere (near the water) may seem appealing. As a FL resident for many years, I tend to stick to my regular eateries, but on occasion will try different places. I was with a small group on a early Sunday afternoon; we waited 20mins for our drinks and almost an hour for our food. We sat patiently as people that arrived after us were getting their food. The outside bar had a decent crowd, but not many folks there to eat so there was no reason why the food would have taken so long ~ the upscale restaurants even have food out in half the time. To top it off, I was the only one to eat oysters thus the only one to get sick after their meal. The waitress was less than attentive (maybe because she knew she'd be getting an automatic 15% tip..she is those $ are a given with 6+ people). For the record, I take the time to write reviews for great food and believe its important to give the lousy places equal time. Tampa Bay has some great places to eat/drink and party...Jack Willies is not one of them. The food, service and overall atmosphere (including its patronage) simply lack class. read more

Setting is beautiful. Food is pretty good but the drinks are expensive. The real problem is parking. Be very careful. This is set up for valet parking only. I did not want to give my car to a stranger and was told by the attendant exactly where to park about two blocks away. I parked at the exact location given, and when I emerged about 1 1/2 hours later, found that my car had been towed away. The manager offered me a free drink for my trouble. This cost me over $100 - and the best part, was watching a person in a golf cart coming back and forth from behind the restaurant with a walkie talkie, driving a golf cart - looking for cars to have towed. They clearly have a good scam going at this restauarant. Be VERY Careful !!! read more

Consistently the Best Raw Oysters around.... Consistently the WORST SERVICE any where around. Today Sunday, 3/24/2013, we gave Jack Willie's yet another try. We were excited to learn that our favorite raw oysters were just 60 cents each and our Bloody Mary's were the special of the day. If only we could order them! Our waitress was nowhere to be found, others were wandering around, and a couple were eating at a table by the bar! When she finally came back to our table to take our order she was very happy to announce what we were ordering was the special of the day - it would have been nice if she told us ahead of time. She returned with our undressed, extra small, warm, watered down Bloody Mary's after a very long wait. We had obviously looked at the menu after our very long wait and were ready to order. She came back and then proceeded to tell us the specials of the day.... We ordered two dozen oysters and two orders of fish tacos. As our drinks were empty and we waited and waited she finally came back and took another drink order. We asked for two more Bloody Mary's, one spicy and one not. After another very long wait (with nobody at the bar) she finally brought our Bloody Mary's. The not so spicy Bloody Mary came back as tomato juice and maybe some vodka. Then our order came.... Everything at once! Two dozen oysters and two plates of fish tacos. The table was full. I asked her why everything at once? She said "because that's how I put the order in" and walked away! This has been the type of service that is consistent at Jack Willies. The food is good but the help is the worst. Thanks Jack Willies and Ashlee for starting our Sunday off on a sour note. read more

We are so happy Jack Willie's is here and back in action. The new management has a great outlook and offer a great variety of offerings to please any palate. Excellent Food, Excellent Service. Had the grouper sandwich with home made potato chips ... the grouper was outstanding: flaky and cooked to perfection. My husband had the burger, cooked to his liking, with home-made chips. Their burgers are huge. I dare anyone to go away hungry. As I said the service was excellent. Our server came by several times to check on us. I can only say Woohoo! It's always interesting to watch new ownership run a restaurant in either an improving way, or as in this case a very mediocre way. After a few visits, if there is a new owner, he is invisible or never there. The place was full of rowdy, loud and obnoxious Bikers. Our server, a tall anemic looking girl with cheesy tattoos was rude, scowling, and hardly interested in giving any answers to questions about the food, or the status of the restaurant. She did appear to be very friendly with the rowdy bikers, and gladly brought them drinks. When I asked for a fresh beverage, I got a nasty look. I ordered the grouper sandwich, and being an experienced seafood consumer/catcher, I believe the grouper wasn't really grouper, but Tilapia or Catfish. I dare say that the future of this restaurant is reliant on bikers drinking dollar beers at the bar and bragging about the "horse power" of their motors as one loud mouth named "Bob" was apt to do too to impress some older gentleman who seemed like he could care less, and was trying to appease "Bob" so he would just go away. read more
