I asked for slime designed coffin shaped nails (pictured) they are different shapes and definitely not coffin shaped. Seriously my nails look like green Christmas lights not slime. What i asked for is pictured. The lady that done my nails acted like she didn't know what she was doing. I told many times that I didn't like the shape. She hit my finger twice with the actual head of the drill. On my other review he said he asked if I liked my nails and I said yeah. seriously after telling somebody five times that you don't like it and them not listening eventually you get tired of telling them you don't like your nails. I even asked the lady that was doing my daughter's nails to come over and shape mine because after telling the technician three times that I wanted coffin shape she still had them Square .Now the lady that done my daughters nails hit it out of the park. read more

I like that I can make an appointment instead of sitting and waiting. And I really like the quality of the work (I get an acrylic fill and gel color). I give this place a D- grade for sanitation issues. Their website says that they have plastic liners for the pedicure tubs.... I didn't see one liner used among six different clients. I watched one manicurist quickly spray disinfectant, but it was by no means a thorough job. Plus, Lysol or whatever will not remove skin cells and oils from the bowls. Yuck, yuck, yuck!!! If they are out of plastic liners, don't do pedicures until you have them! The lady who worked on me used an emery board that was shredding. No way did she sanitize that! Gross!!! I did not see any tools removed from their stations for sanitation. Does the Health Department ever check these places? I didn't notice until I left that both my big toes had pooled blood along the cuticle. I'm glad that I'm currently taking an antibiotic for an unrelated issue... hopefully, that will help stave off any bacterial infection I might have picked up here. I don't want to be completely negative. Some of the workers were friendly, and they are certainly hard-working. My lady did a decent job with the gel polish. Pricing was clearly posted, easy to understand, and fairly reasonable. But I cannot overlook the cleanliness factor. I chose this place because of the positive reviews I saw online. But I won't be back. My health is too important. read more

I heard only good things from Jack's. Unfortunate, not all good for me. I was told my nail plight was one color and it was something else. But, nails turned out okay. Something else was worse. What was the big issue was my technician attitude. I accidentally touched a nail that had been painted. She yelled out (not English) to another technician and spoke several moments in that language and shook her head. This hurt my feelings and embarrassed me in front of the other patrons. I'm not sure how sanitary the pedicure tubs were due to no plastic linings like other salons. The tables for manicures didn't have wash clothes laid out either, so they felt sandy from where other people had gotten SNS. I picked out a light pink shade despite the cleanliness, but the color was mislabeled and I did not get what I wanted. Didn't bother having it fixed there because there were small black hairs in some nails. At least the woman doing my nails was friendly! read more

This is a very good nail salon. The technicians are nice and helpful, they get done on time and will always make sure you walk out looking good. I have had a couple experiences here that I was not completely happy w/ but I've never been very disappointed, and I have many friends who love this place. It's not the most amazing place in the planet but I def recommend this if you're in the area. read more

I have been going to Jack Nails for about 5 months now and they are my favorite nail place in Nicholasville. They are very consistent and do the best SNS nails I've had done out of the four places I've gone. They have the largest selection of SNS colors I've seen! I always have a friendly experience and leave with fresh cuticles, great nails and a smile on my face. read more

The guy who did my nails was very rude. I told him I wanted nude and white ombré and he kept saying "pink and white? you want pink?" & I told him multiple times I wanted nude. His exact words were "That is not going to look good." I explained to him I had nude and white before and I like it. He got frustrated and said "Just go pick out your color." He took forever to even start on my nails. When he saw my natural nail he said "Oh my god." Very judgmental. I apologized to him because my natural nail is very short but he was very rude about it and kept sighing while he was doing them. He just acted like he was very annoyed with me the whole time. Finally I realized that the ombré he was doing was not looking good so I asked him to add glitter. His exact words were "Why would you want glitter?" I told him I liked glitter and thought it would look good. He said "It's way too late to add glitter. You should have told me before. I am not doing that now" Overall I had a terrible experience and spent $60 on these nails. I do no recommend this place to anyone. read more
