My friend and I went here on a Saturday and they were not busy. They told her she could not get a SNS feeling and that if she wanted her SNS nails to be done that she would have to pay $55 for a brand new set. My friend decided not to get her nails done and would instead wait for me while I got my pedicure however when she sat in the pedicure chair next to me they told her she could not sit there even though there were no other patrons in the store. at that point we decided that we would leave and go elsewhere to get our nails done We will not be returning ever. read more

Linda didn't give me the impression my need or want wasn't important, but when the guy took over he seemed more interested. Although he did great on my nails, when he exfoliated my calves it was weak. The place seemed wiped down, but didn't seem to use any disinfectant and the tubs were not lined, which turned me off. Me and my daughter went there to get pedicure's. The man that did them never spoke a word, looked mad the whole time. He cut the back of my heel when he was "grating" my feet. The staff was extremely friendly and patient with us when my daughter couldnt decide what polish she wanted and changed it up 3 times. Terrible service! Called 2 hours ahead to make appointments for 4 people on a Sunday- all requested both manis and pedis. Was told "no problem at all, we can take you" and "you'll be just fine". My mom was done in ten minutes- sister was the next one to be seen. I waited 45 minutes with my feet in cold water, and opted out of a pedicure as the second sister still hadn't been even addressed!! She also opted out of her pedicure as now our mom has been sitting for OVER AN HOUR waiting on us. This is why you make appointments. Don't lie and tell us you can accommodate when you can't!! Final sister has just sat down for her gel mani, so we'll be here For another 30. $15 for the guy to file my nails (no polish even though I asked for clear) and slap a whole bunch of greasy lotion on- hand massage SUCKED too btw- it was like getting petted. I've yet to find a good nail place in Lexington, but this is by far the most unorganized. BOO. One star- this place is for the birds. read more

My 14 year old got passed a note from one of the nail techs telling her she was beautiful. The man knew her age and apparently didn't care. The owner wasn't bothered, but said she would make sure that particular nail tech didn't work on her anymore. Well, I won't be going back because I find this incredibly gross and inappropriate. I went in for pink and white acrylic. I should have turned around and walked out immediately when they tried to talk me into those plastic white tips that look like garbage. But I have more than once had someone try to talk me into the easy way and I've still walked out with good nails. They should have just told me they couldn't do the job. But instead I learned that fact from experience. They were crooked and the white was so far down the nail bed on most of them that I looked like I had deformed fingers. The left hand thumb was by far the worst, but there was only one that was actually good and maybe two others that were sort of acceptable. I told them I wasn't happy and they offered to fix it by putting even more white even farther down the nail bed. It is hard to imagine anyone being so plainly stupid as to think that was the solution to this problem. Not only did they charge me for mutilating my hands, they charged me $50. I ripped them off in the parking lot because I could not stand the thought of wearing this mess even long enough to drive home. Perhaps for services in which they have competent staff they do an excellent job. I don't know. What I do know is that they wasted my time and stole my money when they could have just told me that they couldn't do what I wanted. I should have refused to pay. But I was on the edge of completely flipping out and just wanted to get out of there before I said something very not nice. read more

Terrible service!!!! Today I had the most awful experience at Idol Nails. This was my second time giving them a chance & to be honest, I'm not sure why I bothered. My friends always told me not to go in the first place & I should've listened. The first time the lady got the shape so unbelievably wrong.... After I showed her a picture of the nails I wanted and she said she could do them for me!! She also argued with me about the color in the photo, I went with her color ... Unfortunately, it turned disgustingly yellow. I went back today to have a fill & color change. (They are the closest salon to home so it was convenient) I mentioned something about how when I got my nails done at another place they had a tool to just swipe clean under your fake nail if it lifts a little... As she was trying to glue down a nail with stuff under it! (At least try or offer me a new nail???) I felt like I was just spoke to her calmly... I wasn't even mad or annoyed... Just curious. Immediately she started raising her voice at me & yelling in front of the whole salon. I called another associate over to explain what happened & to ask for a different nail tech & she literally would not let me get a single word in. She was yelling over me talking for everyone to hear! So embarrassing.. "I DO NAILS A LONG TIME!" SO, SO unprofessional!!! I told the man I didn't want to her to do my nails & she said "I don't care! You go! Go!" Apparently she's the manager. She has terrible customer service skills & is easily offended. I'd say if your picky about your nails this isn't the place for you. She was so awful to me today. Offended because I mentioned another salon having another tool, maybe? I'm not sure but I will not be back. I payed $50 for a gel mani & tipped her even though she messed up the shape & color. (I rely on my tips, I get that they make a difference in somebody's life!) I was kind enough to go back for a gel fill today .... $40.00!!!! Plus, to fix her shape mistake $5.00 for labor. The fill ten dollars cheaper?! Might as well pop them off & get a whole new set. I really, seriously do NOT recommend!! Honestly happier leaving and paying nothing with half finished nails than wasting money on terrible service & who knows if the shape & color would've even worked out this time! I love Linda and her team at Idol Nails. I have been a regular customer for about 5 years and tend to get mostly pedicures and visit every other month or so. Linda always greets me and many of her other customers by name when you walk in the door. She also always asks about my family and remembers small details that just amaze me! She tends to remember colors I especially like or don't and I hear her having similar conversations with others. I think that kind of interest and investment in her customers is something special that paired with the price and service has built a loyal customer base. I have never been unhappy with a mani or pedi there. The polish always lasts as long if not longer than it does when I've visited other places. I've never been nicked, I've never had a complaint. The salon is pretty and seems very clean. The chairs are comfortable and the spa pedicure is so relaxing! I took one star away because as others have mentioned, the wait can be really long depending on when you get in. There are only 3 employees and they really try to take care of everyone so sometimes you may be in there for well over an hour. Keeping that in mind though, it's never really been a big issue for me. However, I have watched others leave due to the wait. If you have time, I think you will be pleased with the service! read more

Just spent 2 hours getting my SNS nails done. Went at 11:30AM and didn't leave until 1:25. I've broken two of my nails so I told them I needed two tips. She tried to tell me that they don't do SNS with tips, it's only for real nails. I told her ALL of my nails are real but I broke two so I need the tips on ONLY those two. She told me the price was $42. FORTHY-TWO?? Do I get a hand massage with that??? NOPE. And btw other salons I've been to usually don't charge for broken nails and only $30 for SNS. Anyways, I was the first and only person there. Firstly, I'm extremely picky. Picked my color, Linda started off with my nails but when another customer came in, she lended me off to the guy. Asked for coffin shape and got NO-ffin!! He cut me twice (on ONE finger,) squeezed my hands, and two of my nails are completely uneven in all ways! Used 3 different dipping powders, why? Idk. PLUS I only got a tip on ONE of the broken nails so it looks like I have a KNUB. Told him I didn't like them at all so Linda fixed them. But they're already fxxked up from the get-go! I saw great reviews for pedicures and I am new to the area so I figured I would check it out. Let me start by saying that the salon has some pros: it is very nicely decorated and relaxing and clean and they used fresh nail instruments on me. The people working there were very pleasant and there was only one other person getting a manicure and pedicure when I got there, so they started my service quickly. I needed a manicure and had color gel already on my nails, so apparently they soak it off in a hot acetone bath before doing the filing, cuticle cleanup and applying the new color, etc. (I have gotten color gel a million times before and usually they wrap the nail directly in a cotton ball and cover it in tin foil before they scrape it off). Anyways because they had me basically hold my fingers in hot acetone for a long time, my cuticles were extremely dried out. After filing, a quick buffing and applying the color gel, my nail tech says "all done", made me pay and then quickly moved on to the next person. No paraffin, or even a small amount of lotion applied. My cuticles and hands were like white they were so dry! I have never in my life seen that and even with the cheapest basic mani, they at least apply some lotion and usually massage it in your hands and arms as well! By that time more people came in and they seemed understaffed and I needed to get to another appointment so I just left, otherwise I would have said something. I was really disappointed, but I felt worse for a lady who was sitting with her fingers in that same acetone bath for like 30 minutes!! Yikes! Maybe their specialty is pedicures? read more

I went into this business because of convenience in the location. It is newly opened and the owners have gone to great lengths to make this upscale. I was there for the greater part of two hours being shuffled from chair to chair. The manicure was done hastily and my nails were shaped wrong even though I told the young lady while filing the first one that was not how I wanted them. The gel polish was chipping the next day. The hot towels on my feet after the pedicure was nice. The charge was $60.00 and they ask if I was going to leave a tip so they could include that in the charge since the cost of transactions has increased. I am very disappointed, one of the only salons in the area open on a sunday I decided I couldn't wait until monday when my normal salon was open. Was greeted the mintue I walked in and was told to pick my color. I was getting a fill in and gel polish. An older gentleman directed me where to sit and right away I could tell he did not speak a lot of english. He took the old polish off, filled them in and started shaping them without even asking me how i wanted them done. I had pretty long nails and had told him I wanted to keep the length. he starts by taking atleast a few cm off the top and starts doing them in a round shape. I questioned him and he says oh you want square? I say well since you already did the round and took half my length I guess i'll try the round. well one hand is round the other square...lol no two nails are the same length and when I told him I wanted multi colors one of the women at the salon came over and told me it would be more $. Paid 45$ for uneven length and shaped nails. Will not be back and I am showing these to everyone I can until I can get to my normal salon!!! He was also very rough as he was taking old gel off.
