I must admit, my french SNS wasn't horrible. Buuuut it would've been a much better experience if I were charged what I was quoted when I walked in to inquire about the price. From now on, when the prices aren't displayed somewhere, I'm not going to spot the shade right away. This nail salon is in the Beaumont area, just a few doors down from Sahara's. Being the nail shop hopper that I am, I decided to give it a whorl one day after eating lunch at Saharas. There were only two specialists working when I got there, but the owner, Janet later walked in and ended up being the one who did my nails. The removal process was neater and quicker than most places. Instead of the foil wrap process, she used a rubber thimble on each nail. After she was almost finished, I gave her my credit card and upon signing the receipt, I noticed the price difference from what I was quoted, it was only $3, but it was still annoying. I still tipped my usual, and then casually mentioned to her that the price quoted to me was different. What she said and how she said it nearly blew me away... "she didn't know that I changed the price today". That's just straight rude and quite honestly, it's deceitful. I won't be back. read more

I have been to this salon 2 times in the last week: once for an eyebrow wax and once for a pedicure. Part of me thinks it is too early to write a review, but I'm so happy with my toes, I can't help myself. The eyebrow wax was done as a walk in after a short wait. I think it was $13. I'm a natural blonde with sparse brows, so I don't get them done very often, and my skin doesn't like the process. My experience here was pretty typical. I got an appointment for my pedicure, and I was glad I did. They were pretty busy at 3:30 on a Tuesday afternoon. I had ordered UK nail tattoos on Amazon, and brought them along, hoping they would put them on for me. The normal pedicure includes the spa chair soak, I assume trimming (I always make sure my nails are short before a pedicure because most techs don't cut them short enough for me.), filing nails and feet, cuticle stuff, massage, and various moisturizing lotions before the polish. I was asked if I wanted a "spa" pedicure, but I honestly wouldn't want to spend more time .... unless I went with girlfriends .... or my husband (not). But the best part is that in spite of my love for traditional red toenails, my toes are showing their team pride! Go Big Blue! All of this for $30 plus a $6 tip! (I think she should have charged me more even though I brought my own nail art. I also think they should start stocking UK nail tattoos for other people. :-) ) I think I will become a regular here. read more

Conveniently located, reasonably priced, and consistently friendly, Nail Care is my go-to Lexington place for manicures and pedicures. My pedicure yesterday cost $25 and was complete with whirlpool spa and a massage chair. Manicures are $14. The staff is friendly and attentive-patrons are greeted as soon as they walk in the door and my nail technician spent 45 minutes on me yesterday. The magazine selection is abundant and up to date, and a flat screen tv on the wall is visible to all pedi chairs and mani stations. Nail Care is impeccably clean, which is one of my highest priorities for a nail salon. I always enjoy my experiences there and am always pleased with the final result! read more

This salon is clean and I have been here a few times before. I've never had exceptional experiences here but it is close to my home. I got a pedicure and there was no lotion put on my legs and no massage. The woman next to me had a massage by a different tech while my original tech moved on and was halfway through a different customer's manicure. That's why I'm giving an extra star because good service is possible. My experience was just extremely lacking and I paid $30 for it. read more

The worst and rudest staff I've ever came in contact with. Walked in was asked how I was. I politely said good how are you, and the salon employee says BUSY. Then I'm told if you could just come back later. Not asked to sign in or it could take a while. When I said huh she said we are just too busy to take any one else. It was four o'clock and they did not look that busy. There are too many options in this area to be as rude, and unfriendly as was the case. The female smarted something off as I walked out as well. One of the best pedicures I've ever gotten! The place is really nice, has quality nailpolishes (Zoya, my fav) and is really clean. They have all the latest issues of magazines. The massage chairs have a ton of different settings. My technician took her time and I didn't feel rushed at all. I think I was there for almost an hour for a $25 pedicure! They had a seat for me when I walked in on a Saturday afternoon. I will definitely be going back! read more

This is a very average nail salon. It does seem clean and the employees are nice, but the "massage" part of my pedicure was just rubbing lotion into my calves and feet with essentially no massaging pressure. There were two women working and one man. I had the man and it appeared that the women were providing more of a massage, so maybe this was just my bad luck. I was also seated for 35 minutes before anybody started to work on my pedicure (with only 3 other clients in the building), but at least I got to wait in the massaging chairs! Also, the most basic pedicure is $30 while every other similar nail place I've been to in Lexington charges $25 and there is definitely nothing "extra" at this place (they don't even offer you water). The technician did seem to do a decent job on my nails and applied a base coat followed by two coats of my selected polish, so I'm hoping the pedicure will last a decent amount of time. read more

Wasn't the best manicure, but wasn't the worst I've gotten. I arrived a bit before 7 with my mom and they closed at 8 so they rushed through my mani. They weren't super clean either, which I'm very picky about. They would just spray a bit of alcohol on a cotton ball, then wipe their tools before using them. They were also a bit pricey as well. It said $15 for a mani, but they charged me $19. At the end once my nails were dry I noticed a hair in one of them and air bubbles in another (along with a gloppy top coat on all the other nails, but I didn't even mention that), so I asked the lady to fix it and she did, and proceeded to fix ALL my nails. For that price, I expect great nails the first time. Overall not bad. If I was from around here though, I wouldn't return. I still left with a few more air bubbles. I did like how they had coconut oil available on their drying station for lotion. Also, it was a clean place and very well organized and professional looking. read more

I've been here a bunch of times for eyebrow waxing, never for nails, so bear this in mind. Overall, pretty good and excellent value for money, but nothing amazing. PROS: 1. This is one of the few places in this area of town where you can get eyebrow waxing done as a walk-in (i.e. without making an appointment ahead of time). That's very important to me (I'm busy and I don't want to commit to a set time ahead of time), and it's the main reason I go there. 2. Pricing is nice and cheap. Also, if you're getting other areas of your skin waxed at the same time, they will bundle it into a lower price than the cost of each individual area added up. So if you're looking to get eyebrows plus anything else done, it's really superb value for money. 3. They get it done fast and efficiently. 4. Super-comfortable waxing chair! Seriously awesome, much better and more comfy than what you would get when waxing at a hair salon. 5. They really make their best efforts to see each customer as soon as possible. CONS: 1. Results can range from absolutely amazing to only so-so, depending on tech, time of day, etc etc. My favorite tech results-wise is Lin, so you may wish to ask for her, but obviously if she's not on at that day/time you won't have a choice. I haven't had anything actually bad happen at any time with any tech (no eyebrow horror stories!), but I've certainly had it look noticeably less good on some days than others. 2. Even when they use the soothing gel, they sometimes wind up accidentally leaving the occasional spots of wax residue behind on skin. Not always, but sometimes they are way too eager to get it done fast instead of being thorough about removing wax residue. To be fair, this is a common gripe I have with most eyebrow waxing places and is not unique to this salon. However, one time a spot of leftover wax residue was actually somewhat noticeable when looking in a mirror afterward, which in my opinion is not OK. If I can *see* it myself, they ought to have been able to see it and remove it before letting me walk out of there like that! 3. Sometimes they will try to work in waxing clients while nail clients are having their nails under the dryer, etc. You would think this is a positive because you don't have to wait when you show up, but actually I think they are more inclined to rush the waxing process when that happens, leading to poorer results. I would actually prefer they just wait until their nail client is done before seeing me so that no-one feels rushed. Plus, I feel sorry for the nail client who had their tech leave them in the lurch for a bit. That said, on the times I've been there, it's been almost only manicure and pedicure clients (in other words, if you're a nail client, you won't really have to worry about many people coming in for waxing). OVERALL: They're good if you want an eyebrow wax done fast and for a cheap price without needing an appointment. However, because the results can vary so much in quality, I'm considering using them only for general upkeep/tidy-up between appointments and for important events etc getting the eyebrows done at a full-service salon, which would cost more but might be worth it. It's still good, results are still pretty much OK, I wish I could give it more stars but without a more consistently good experience I feel I can only give it three stars. The result is good for the relatively cheap price you pay, but I'm getting to the point that I'd rather go somewhere where I can pay just a little bit more if it would mean a better or more consistently good result. read more
