I found TBL on Yelp (as one does) and decided to give it a try because it's close to home. Appointments are required, so I made one about two weeks out for a Sunday morning. It's in secluded area, with a nice big parking lot. The shop is clean and modern and very bright. Everyone here is super nice. Rae did my son's hair and she did a great job (next time I'm gonna ask for a little more off the back because that boy's cowlick is INSANE). He was super happy with the cut and so was I. It's definitely pricier than what we usually pay, but her attention to detail and overall patience with him was worth it. My onlyyy irritation was that we were running on a super time crunch that day and we booked our appointment for 10 as it says appointments were required. Rae let me know when we got there that she was running a little behind and didn't even start cutting my son's hair til 10:30. Eeeek. For all I know the situation could've been out of her hands (maybe her previous client was late, I don't know) so I was gracious about it, but I wish I would've gotten a text or something so I wasn't sitting there with my antsy five year old for half an hour before he was seen. That said, I still plan on booking my son with her again and hope the late start was just a one off. :)

So after having to let my hair grow for over 3 months from the last butcher, I have found my guy! Donnie took time to not only get to know me but inquire into my style, shape and needs of my hair and beard. He has a new permanent customer in me! I came in with my wife because she wanted to scope out a new hairstyle place. When I walked in they all stopped and gave me looks. I know what this means and should have walked out there. However, I really needed a haircut. I was like is it because I was Mexican or straight or not some cool alternative Hipster? Anywho, the vibe was pretty much that I was not wanted there. Being disabled I have to get a haircut when I can. My stylist was Meg. She took one look at me and was very hesitant to serve me. It was like Do I Got To Serve Him??? She sat me down and would not talk to me. I had to initiate things to break some of the bad vibes. I gave her a very peaceful opening but she really did not take it. Meg started to rush my hair. I had to ask her if she was going to use scissors and she reluctantly grabbed a pair. The haircut and out "Meh". It was something I would get from Supercuts. Only almost three times the price. The haircut came out to $66. Way over priced for what I got. Even the default tip settings were high starting at 20%!!! I found out later that a base haircut was just a quick buzz cut. You have to request and pay more if you want them to even touch scissors.

Never got a phone call later or even an email apologizing. It seems like the place is on the verge of closing down. There is never more than one stylist in the place, and it feels like a ghost of what it must have been in the past. The only good thing is that this caused me to find a new stylist elsewhere, and actually found the best stylist I've had in years. I hate leaving bad reviews, but if anyone is considering making an appointment here, they should be wary.​

My regular guy uses several different clippers, a comb and scissors and shaves my neck, trims my eyebrows and ear hairs. Loui decided I was a one and half. The race was on. He attacked my head with record speed. Running the clippers over my head as if the apocalypse was about to start. He jammed the clippers into my nose twice ( hard!) while trying to trim my mustache. I had to tell him to slow down this was not going to be a Guinness Record setting haircut. Not really a place I'm going to head back to.
