HAIR EXTENSIONS RUINED MY HAIR! As lovely as hair extensions…read morecan be for an instant change in your looks, they can also be terrible for your natural hair - to the point where you're googling "Help! Hair extensions ruined my hair!". With all that extra length and added volume comes the inevitable science that is an added weight to your scalp, which is precious and delicate already, causing major stress on your follicles from the strain of all that weight from your hair extensions - this is where hair extensions can ruin your hair. Regardless of the method used for applications tailored to each style of hair extensions that are available, hair extensions are attached to your hair - tugging at your scalp as well as your hair and because of this fact, hair extensions CAN ruin your hair but the damage can also be avoided. The tension from wearing hair extensions can lead to traction alopecia which is a type of alopecia caused from when pressure has constantly been put on the roots which has damaged your hair follicles. The most damaging factor of hair extensions is the application - if it's not done correctly by someone who is specialised in the particular type of hair extensions you're getting, you could end up with less hair than you started

We were pretty early so we were hanging out for a while since the lady was still finishing up her costumer before us. Nataly was my hair dresser and she was fantastic. She did my hair and ombré or balayage. Not sure which one since they look similar. She was really patient and good with her craft. She even helped me put my baby to sleep which was really nice of her. My hair came out good but it took too long cause of the amount of hair I have and everyone was tired already. She told me to come back to tone out more of the brassy parts of my hair. So I'm coming back in two days to get my hair a little bit more lighter. I can't wait!

I meant to write this review over a month ago, but anyways... I must say this salon is amazinggggg…read more I have had my nails done, hair done, and makeup done here and every service was nothing short of excellence. Maggie is God sent, she came in early on a Sunday morning to make sure I was gorgeous for my sister 11AM wedding (did I mention on a SUNDAY) and did wayyyy beyond my expectations. So in all I would recommend this salon and have to everyone I know, you will not be dissapointed!!! I will see you all today as I need my nails done for Christmas!!!

Pros: Kind employees, fashionable interior, everyone tries to go the extra mile. Owner has a very…read morecute dog. I have nothing bad to say about the ladies who work here, I know they're hustling and trying their best. But if you're not trained properly even if you work your ass off you could still not achieve the outcome you're going for. Please don't hold anything against the employees who work here. Cons: Highly defensive and gaslighting owner. Cares only about the reputation of her business, but doesn't have the genuine care it takes to retain loyal customers. Very fake "friendly," like aggressively friendly to the point where you're not allowed to have your own feelings or opinions. Will cut you off and claim you're the one interrupting, will assume any pushback is an attack, will think the worst of you when you're trying your best to be courteous to everyone else. Also: your brows will be bleached off such that you don't have any brows anymore lmao. Bro I'm so embarrassed, fortunately I wear glasses so the top frame of my glasses can hide my (lack of) brows And yes, my hair was messed up this time again, too. I look like a clown up-close right now, but it can wait a little while for me to find another salon to fix the mess. If you want the full story see my photos. And please, read the other one- or two- star reviews... they show a pattern. I should've done more research before getting my hopes up so much. I wanted so bad to find "my stylist" that I would be loyal to forever. It's just like dating I guess, gotta kiss a lot of frogs...

So I have been coming to Kasey since 2019. I am very particular about how I like my hair colored,…read morecut, and styled. I've been to a few salons and the only thing that they would get right is the hair cut. The salons that I've been to were not with the times. They couldn't do a balayage which I am so glad is what's in these days because it is so forgiving on a busy mama like myself. That is when I found Kasey and my loyalty has been to her ever since. When she relocated to South Boston and co- opened this salon, I followed her. The salon is bright, cozy, and clean. The environment is so welcoming. The staff is friendly. Everytime I come in, coffee and water always offered. Kasey is so sweet and always checks on me to make sure I am comfortable while I am there. Easy online scheduling system. Kasey is responsive on IG and you can schedule appointments with her that way as well. I love how her IG and the salon's IG page let's you know of open availability. They accept Venmo for tips, which is great cause I don't carry cash (does anyone anymore?). I want to speak to Kasey's work. You can tell she cares about her craftsmanship. Hairstylists are artist and Kasey is that. I always come in with pictures to give her an idea of what I want and she is realistic about whether it can be done in that session or if it would require another. Nonetheless, she always deliver and I am always happy with the results! Also, I've noticed that since I have been coming to Kasey, even with the hair dyes, my hair has never looked or felt healthier! With the other salons, my hair would get dried and damaged. I am telling you, as $$ as it is, you are paying for quality work. Their time and your time is valuable, so rest assured that during those 2-3 hours, these girls are focused on you and your needs.

I booked a haircut weeks in advance and came in excited -- I usually love getting my hair done…read more When I arrived, the front desk girl took my coat and said my stylist would be out shortly. She came back a minute later and said she would actually be the one washing my hair and doing a mask until my stylist could come out. That immediately felt odd since it was my first time there and the stylist hadn't seen my hair dry. Every salon I've been to does a quick consult first to see your hair type and talk through the plan. Towards the end of being rinsed, the stylist switched in without introducing herself or even saying hello. Her first words to me were, "What kind of cut are you looking for today?" Even after leaving the wash station, there was still no introduction or real questions about my hair. She was not working with another guest at the time so I'm not sure why she couldn't introduce herself and do a consult beforehand. I was there to cut about five inches off and felt really uncomfortable trusting someone who hadn't seen my hair dry or taken a moment to understand it. I don't need a chatty appointment, but I do expect a stylist to make a new client feel welcomed and assess their hair. She barely spoke the entire time, which made the appointment feel awkward and honestly pretty uncomfortable. Thankfully, the haircut turned out fine, but this was one of the most uncomfortable salon experiences I've had. I'm super bummed because I was really looking forward to the haircut and trying out this salon. I was hoping to leave private feedback but couldn't find a way to do that online.
