Jen knows exactly what you want even if you have a hard time articulating (which I am totally guilty of when it comes to hair). I am in love with my most recent cut, but when I was ready for a change, Jen knew how to do exactly what I wanted. Jen is friendly and very professional; she's honest with you about your hair which I think is the most important thing a hair stylist can do. For instance, I have A LOT of hair, and it's really thick. Jen was honest with me about a certain hair style and how it would have to stay short to keep it. We decided that she would cut the bulk out, but at the same time allow me to grow and keep some length. I know a lot of stylists that have refused to cut my hair this way in the past, but I've never been happier about the cuts she has been giving me. Her new shop is in a perfect location; right off of 60, but close to Medford Center and right near the Fellsway. There is plenty of street parking and you can use your credit/debit card to pay instead of rummaging through your wallet for change. The facilities are stylish and although it's doesn't look like much on the outside, the salon itself is totally modern and the quality of services will make you feel like you're downtown on Newbury Street without the pain of getting stuck in that terrible traffic. Time is a precious to everyone, so just make sure to keep your appointment, or let her know in advanced if you need to cancel or reschedule. Jen does have a cancellation policy that she emails to anyone who books an appointment with her. "Canceling or any rescheduling of your appointment with less than 24 hour notice will result in a 50% charge of the reserved service amount. No shows will be charged 100% of the reserved service amount." I rave about Jen's work so much that my boyfriend has finally stopped booking with Super Cuts and wants to book an appointment with her. I came to my appointment early (15 min) and they immediately got to me and Karen was very polite and attentive. She did exactly what I wanted, a big chop (5 inches!) and framed my face. Another thing I like is that they ask before they blow dry. I hate putting any heat on my hair and have a sensitive scalp so that was nice to avoid. When I made the call to book, the person on the phone asked me what my hair was like and said he had some ideas for stylists who would be a good fit for my hair type. I LOVE that they did that. It made me really excited for my appointment. When I arrived at the salon, there were plenty of bottles of hand sanitizer and everything was very clean. Everyone was wearing a mask and clients were spaced out when hair was being cut, washed, or styled. They are not doing blow dries at the time which was also reassuring to hear that they are taking this seriously. I was seated and Sandra came to talk about what we would do with my hair. She was so incredibly friendly and had a lot of ideas and expertise on what she though would look good. We talked a little bit while she was cutting, but I didn't feel pressured at all about having to talk if I didn't want to, which was really nice. When she was done, I payed and we chatted some more about styling techniques. And then I left....but our journey doesn't end there. When I got home, my hair was starting to really dry and I didn't really love it. It was a lot longer than I had wanted and the layers weren't falling like I anticipated. I debated for a long time about whether or not I should call, especially because there are some iffy reviews on here about customer service once the client had left. But after much debate, I decided to call back. The person on the phone was so nice and said that they would absolutely be able to make an adjustment and scheduled me again with Sandra for the next day. When I came in today for the adjustment, Sandra was so kind and understanding about it. She expressed the reasons why she didn't cut it short, but said that if it's what I really wanted, then it would look great and we should go ahead and do it. The second appointment took about 20 minutes and I left feeling so so good. I was not charged a second time. I will definitely be back to Salon Luna. The customer service was awesome and Sandra was so so nice. She honestly made the whole experience worth it.

Nancy was kind and patient with my 3 year old son who has autism. My son hates haircuts - - he…read morecries, wiggles, reaches for the scissors, and melts down during every cut. When I called the Salon to schedule, I spoke to Nancy about my concerns. She was very reassuring and scheduled him in the morning when he would be the only customer in the Salon. Her Salon is set up with lots of toys (she has a whole sensory bin for kids to play with during the cut). She took breaks when he needed it and I think this helped prevent a full blown melt down. He cried but recovered well enough to pick out a toy prize from her treasure chest of goodies for the kids. As a Mom of a kid with ASD, haircuts are almost as traumatic for me as they are for him. But Nancy was wonderful and made me feel at ease too. Oh, and she did a really good job on the hair cut (scissor cut). She also invited us to pop by the Salon anytime just to say hello and for my son to sit in a chair for a bit, to help him get used to the Salon. Definitely two thumbs up for Nancy.
