Out of respect for the stylist, I will not be sharing her name, however I feel I need to share what I have been dealing with so others don't go through the same experience. I went in for a full foil - a process that this stylist had done on my hair before, in addition to balayages and other processes involving bleach. I was at the salon for hours, which was abnormal, and walked out with hair damaged beyond belief after spending about $300. The underneath layers of my hair were melted off, and the rest of my hair was snapping and breaking off in clumps, to the point where I could hardly even comb my hair with a wide tooth comb without losing significant amounts of hair at a time. My roots were uneven, I had a large stripe on the back of my head, other areas had color banding, in addition to the irreversible damage that I had never experienced despite getting bleach processes done regularly for about 8 years. After this visit, I contacted the salon about my concerns, and the owner agreed to look at my hair. She told me it looked fine and that the damage was not as bad as I thought, despite the fact that she herself had never dealt with my hair before. Only after I repeatedly expressed my concerns did she agree to tone my roots, and I walked out for a second time with hair so damaged and nowhere close to what I had requested in my initial appointment. I then went to visit a different salon in the area, where the stylist that helped me informed me that I would likely be dealing with the repercussions of this damage for at least a year, if not longer. At this point, I contacted Allure again to get my money back. Despite getting my money back, I have spent a significant amount at this other salon trying to fix it, yet I still experience a lot of breakage that I never dealt with before my last appointment here. If you are looking to get a blonding or bleaching process here, I strongly suggest to look elsewhere. The damage that was done to my hair here was devastating, and has lasted for months with no end in sight.

I don't know how Nikki does it, but she has brought me to a pale blonde, not yellowish, that I was always looking for. Nikki is an expert in fantasy color, but she's exceeded my expectation in my blonde color. I haven't written a review in a while, but I had to write after our appointment last week. Not only did Nikki knock it out of the park once again with the color, but she also cut my hair. She did as I asked and gave me long layers. Alex really listened to the color I wanted (unlike previous hair stylists) and finally gave me the bayalage I'd been looking for for years! I'll also never cut a regular cut after a calligraphy again! My hair is very thick so calligraphy thins it out, keeps it soft, and finally gives my hair shape. I've seen Alex twice now for color and cut and will keep going back! She is fantastic. I'm also excited to try out getting my makeup done there next week as part of their Valentine's Day special. NV the Salon is so close to home (Medford), close to the city yet don't need to deal with the hassle of parking. I hadn't been to a hair salon in over six years because I didn't like to let other people cut my hair, but cutting my own was no longer not an option; this needed help. I drove by the salon on my way home each day and it always looked cheery and clean so I gave it a try. I got an appointment and hour after I called with no wait at all. Sherma immediately made me feel comfortable and gave me an amazing cut. My Afro hasn't looked this good in years! When she told me the cut was only $25 I asked her to give me a wax as well as it was so cheap! I will definitely be going back here again and I hope if you have natural hair you go here too
