Making an appointment was quite easy after I'd described what I was looking for. When I arrived for my appointment, I was offered my choice of assorted coffees, teas & freshly baked goods. My jacket was hung & I was given a tour. The salon is quite lovely. Each time I've been there, the staff has always been friendly, thoughtful, patient, & helpful. They're a real team of skilled pros. After I've spoken w/Kelly or Elizabeth at length, they asked questions & made recommendations based on the shape of my head, texture of my hair, preferences, & other factors. They really took their time working w/me & /(the other clients, I noticed, many of whom I know). Then they brought me back to the soothingly dimly lit shampoo room. They played soft music & explained the products they were using before they began shampooing, thoughtfully checking my comfort level w/the water temp, etc. The bonus is that they give you a Wonderful head & neck massage while they're shampooing & conditioning! Next come the warm towels on the neck--ahhh! How luxurious! They cut & styled my hair, making light conversation w/me and the others in the salon. They gave me tips & guided me through every step of the way. I loved my hair & have gotten many compliments & inquiries. And, to boot, the prices were so reasonable. The stylist explained to me that their notes go directly into the computer, "so we can keep track of what we did step-by-step & the results. Then next time, we can either duplicate that or make adjustments." And, they all work together as a team, so if my regular stylist isn't available & I'm in a pinch, one of the others can pick up from there. They also help each other throughout the day. It's "A Paul Mitchell Focus Salon" & the owner, Catherine is also a National Educator for Paul Mitchell. All the stylists have ongoing education which translates into the latest techniques & styles! It's been quite a pleasant, satisfying experience each & every time, & they have a wide range of services that I'll be trying. I am so happy w/that I wish I'd come here sooner!! (--Would have saved me a lot of time, $$$, & aggravation). Parking is at the metered street level, so plan accordingly.

I had heard a lot of wonderful things about this salon, and Kiley specifically, so I was SO happy to be able to book an appointment with her. She really listened to me when I described to her what I was looking for in a hair style and we agreed on a layered, angled bob. She did an amazing job. I LOVE it. The salon is beautiful. Kiley gave me a little tour of the place before I sat down to get my cut and I loved the design. It was very warm and comforting to be there. The staff all seem really happy to be working there and working with each other. It really instilled confidence in me as a client knowing that the stylists are happy to be working there. After Christmas I went back for color and again, Kiley did a fantastic job. I was so happy with the results. It was exactly what I wanted. I think that if you're looking for a new salon, I definitely recommend The Hair and Color Studio. They're a very busy salon, so definitely call for an appointment first. But I promise you that you'll be very happy with your hair when you leave.

I can't speak for the other stylists because I've been to Kim the last 2 times I've visited. Prior to that I had Denise who, I've learned, is no longer working there. She was good, too. I'm a senior (and I'm not talking high school) who hates making appointments. I love to walk in and, hopefully, be taken care of. Maybe I sound cheap (and maybe I am), but I don't think you need to pay a lot of money for a haircut. At Casual Cuts you won't, and yet it's every bit as good as the fancy-pants salons with their "blow bars" and other trendy offerings. I'm reluctant to heap praise on Kim, 'tho she deserves it, because this could mean the next time I visit she'll be too busy with other customers. Oh well, it's worth the wait.

Not only is it a beautiful space, but you can tell by the way Jessica and her staff interact with clients and each other that they truly love what they do. Here's a little history...I had gone to a different salon for a haircut about a month ago, hated everything about it and it only got worse, week after week. Seriously, I haven't had a haircut this bad - ever. So, I reached out and gave Jess a heads up about the mess I'd be bringing in and not only did she seem up for the challenge, she seemed excited about it! After assessing the situation, she worked her magic and completely changed how I look and feel! I have a whole new appreciation for the art and science that goes into hair after this experience and I cannot recommend Rinnovo enough. Above and beyond being amazing at what she does professionally, Jess' personality is equally as awesome! Long story short...go to Rinnovo!

That being said, I am a young healthy woman with recent unexpected cardiac events from which I almost died. I was discharged home and all I wanted was to get my hair done and feel like a new person. A new haircut and style can do that, right!? The night before my appointment, we had another event that landed me in the Emergency Department 4am. I called Rinnovo salon first thing in the morning and explained my situation. I was hoping to reschedule soon as I get discharged but Rinnovo salon charged me $50 for the missed appointment citing their cancelation policy. I am self employed and have a similar policy but I also understand that there are life and death situations that one must make an exception for. I spoke with the manager and she refused to budge, once again citing this policy. I am appalled by their behavior. It's not about the money but about the lack of sympathy, empathy, and understanding. Maybe just me, but I expected more and don't think that this is a good example of what our community should be. My 2 daughters and I will not be returning to this salon out of pure principle.

I've never gone to a salon with a photo of a cut and color and have it come out EXACTLY the way I wanted it until I met Gina. I enjoy spending time at the salon. She's got a fun outgoing personality and she always good music playing. The vibe is very laid back. Her regular clients are just as fun. You get the feeling that you're hanging out with girlfriends while you're getting your hair done. It's a no frills, unpretentious salon. She's a hard-working woman business owner. She really cares and does her best for her clients. I find her prices to be fair. I think people need to remember when you're purchasing a Groupon, you are obviously looking for a deal but don't forget the business owner needs to make money too! Some of these negative reviews are unfair and are obviously being posted by someone with a personal vendetta. This has not been my experience with her services at all. I do not know her personally. I am just a regular satisfied customer that came across her salon because I live in the area and I am very glad that I did!

Years ago I bought a groupon and seen Gina for a One process color at a salon in Saugus. She charged me an extra $35 ON TOP of the groupon because my hair is long. $35 seems like a lot to charge ON TOP of already paying for a groupon. Now Gina owns GG Salon in lynn. Her communication was so poor she emailed me a $150 gift certificate for a full foil. The day of our appt she rescheduled the time TWICE. OK, fine. I show up there and she's working on ANOTHER girl and I sat there for 40 mins while she chatted away blowing drying her hair. I left with a headache. Finally I'm up... sit in the chair. We talk for a few. I show her pictures of highlights I like so she can get an idea. She asked me if I had a groupon? I said no You emailed me a gift certificate. She goes oOoH ya ya I remember you. Well she kept dicking around. She started having a snack, texting, then she went in the hallway and spoke with the massage therapist. I sat in the chair for a half hour!!!!!!! And she didn't even touch my hair. I got up and walked out. She's like where are you going? I'm like I've been here for an hour and fifteen minutes and you havent even done anything yet. It seems you don't want to do my hair. Her reply was that's not true. I could be a bitch and do whatever to your hair. At that point I was 100 percent good. She goes maybe we just aren't a fit. This salon is clean, the stylists actually listen to your wants. Some stylists are better than other so observe and choose wisely (mine is awesome). The products they use are actually what the label on the bottle says they are (some dominican salons misrepresent the products they use but NOT this one). Their prices are always consistent and don't vary from client to client. And you are able to tip on a credit card which is a huge convenience. They are customer service oriented and if you don't speak Spanish the majority of the employees speak English so no worries. You should book an appointment at least a week in advance, especially if you are trying to get your hair done on a Friday or Saturday or before a holiday. The only complaint I have about this salon (as well as every other Dominican salon in Lynn) is that you have to plan to spend the majority of your day here, think 4-6 hours, and everyone brings their kids who run a muck around the salon, it gets annoying after 4-6 hours.
