I've been going to Gina for a year now, my hair has never looked better. It took me years to find a stylist I could trust. I've never gone to a salon with a photo of a cut and color and have it come out EXACTLY the way I wanted it until I met Gina. I enjoy spending time at the salon. She's got a fun outgoing personality and she always good music playing. The vibe is very laid back. Her regular clients are just as fun. You get the feeling that you're hanging out with girlfriends while you're getting your hair done. It's a no frills, unpretentious salon. She's a hard-working woman business owner. She really cares and does her best for her clients. I find her prices to be fair. I think people need to remember when you're purchasing a Groupon, you are obviously looking for a deal but don't forget the business owner needs to make money too! Some of these negative reviews are unfair and are obviously being posted by someone with a personal vendetta. This has not been my experience with her services at all. I do not know her personally. In my opinion, RUN RUN RUN, Get your $$ back for your GROUPON. If I could give this place 0 stars I would. Years ago I bought a groupon and seen Gina for a One process color at a salon in Saugus. She charged me an extra $35 ON TOP of the groupon because my hair is long. $35 seems like a lot to charge ON TOP of already paying for a groupon. Now Gina owns GG Salon in lynn. Her communication was so poor she emailed me a $150 gift certificate for a full foil. The day of our appt she rescheduled the time TWICE. OK, fine. I show up there and she's working on ANOTHER girl and I sat there for 40 mins while she chatted away blowing drying her hair. I left with a headache. Finally I'm up... sit in the chair. We talk for a few. I show her pictures of highlights I like so she can get an idea. She asked me if I had a groupon? I said no You emailed me a gift certificate. She goes oOoH ya ya I remember you. Well she kept dicking around. She started having a snack, texting, then she went in the hallway and spoke with the massage therapist. I sat in the chair for a half hour!!!!!!! And she didn't even touch my hair. I got up and walked out. She's like where are you going? I'm like I've been here for an hour and fifteen minutes and you havent even done anything yet. It seems you don't want to do my hair. Her reply was that's not true. I could be a bitch and do whatever to your hair. At that point I was 100 percent good. She goes maybe we just aren't a fit. I had a massage yesterday and it was fantastic. I arrived a bit early and everyone was super friendly; offered me water, made conversation, etc. One of the stylists has a therapy dog and if you're an animal lover it's so calming. If you are a quiet, shy or reserved person, or if you are looking for a peaceful spa-like atmosphere, avoid this place. If you are love loud music, shouting, and a crazy-fun-wacky-party vibe, this might be the place for you - if you also enjoy sitting on a couch for two hours waiting for the owner to finish up the three other people she was already working on when you came in. Granted, she said her assistant had called in sick that day, and that's why I'm giving her two stars instead of one. But if that happens, you CALL your scheduled appointments and let them know there will be a wait, or you reschedule some people so you can handle the day alone. You don't try to work on four people at once. She tried really hard to make it fun in there - maybe so we wouldn't notice the clock ticking? - by blasting Phil Collins and Kenny Rogers and alternately singing along/gossiping with her regulars/shouting over the hairdryer, but it wasn't fun. It was awful. (For me. Maybe it wouldn't be so bad if you love Kenny Rogers. But if that's the case, get out of my review, our relationship is over.) I should also mention that I went in with a Groupon for a Brazilian Blowout - always looking for the cheapest one, and this time it backfired! - and when she first looked at my hair about one hour after I got there, she said I had too many grays to do a BB, because grays don't "take it" well and would "stick out" afterwards, and told me that I needed to do a color first. (At this time, before doing any work at all, she redeemed my Groupon, which I thought was super unprofessional and made it a giant pain to get my money back later. You don't take people's money until after you do the work. That's Business 101.) I said I didn't want to start coloring my hair - I've never colored it, so it was a pretty big decision to start. She insisted that I needed the color job before she could do the BB, and gave me a book of color swatches and told me to sit back down and choose a color. I kind of went "but..." but she was already off working on one of the other three people who were there. So I went back to the couch next to the horrible radio which at this point I wanted to hurl out the window, and sat there for another hour, "looking at color swatches" but in reality Googling on my phone, looking for evidence about this "you can't do a Brazilian Blowout on partly-gray hair" theory of hers. I looked for an hour and I could not find any evidence at all that this was true. Nobody else addressed that theory or even asked about it, and I found several people with gray hair who said doing a BB had actually really helped the texture. So an hour later, when she was done with one of her three other people and finally came over to me to ask what color I wanted, I said that I had been looking on the Internet and I couldn't find anyone else who mentioned that gray hair didn't do well with Brazilian Blowouts. She said, "I just know it from my own experience." And as I hesitated, not moving towards the chair, she said impatiently, "What's the matter, Suzanne? (not my name)?" And I finally got up the guts to say, "I don't want to color my hair. I'm sorry, but I just don't want to make that decision so quickly. I want to think about it for awhile." To her credit, she said at that point that she understood, and that it was too late to do the Brazilian now because it would take four hours (four hours??? It's never taken four hours! My hair is shoulder-length BTW) but that I could reschedule and she'd give me the credit for it since she'd already redeemed my Groupon. And since this story is already long enough, I got out of there and sat in my car and burst into tears, probably from overexposure to Phil Collins. My point is, if you're still with me, that my experience there was awful and I thought the owner was not only pushy but incredibly unprofessional. However, I realize that she was under a lot of pressure because her assistant was absent, and I also realize that I personally do not do well with noisy environments, waiting at lot, or interacting with dominating, loud people. On a different day, someone who does better with those things might have a good experience there. PS. If you do go, here's hint: go around the building to the back door, the one that looks like a service entrance. The front door, for some reason, is locked, and there is no sign indicating where the entrance to the salon is. I guess I should have known at that point that the whole thing was going to be disastrous, but I'm just such a goddamn optimist. read more

I just can't say enough good things about this place! I started going to Gina a couple of years ago on a Groupon, now at this point I don't know what I did before! Gina is a total sweetheart who can tell you exactly what your hair needs and then execute it flawlessly. Every time I leave her salon, I leave happier than the time before. I am an annoying client who never wants to trim my hair but she convinced me it is necessary and it has mad all the difference in the health of my hair. (simple thing but the only one who actually convinced me to keep up with it) I have been coloring my hair since I was a teenager due to annoyingly young grays but the color has never looked better and it has never felt healthier than it has since I have been going to Gina. I love the overall color and my highlights are fantastic. Gina is very knowledgeable with colors and highlights etc, sometimes I think I want something but she can tell me what it is I am actually trying to achieve! I can basically just show her what I am thinking and somehow she just makes it happen and I walk out all smiles. I have never been one to get into treatments (because I can be lazy) but when recommended, I decided to try a Brazilian Blow-Out, WOW is all I have to say! My hair looks and feels amazing and I receive so many compliments on it, "wow your hair looks like movie star hair" that has never been something I was used to about my hair at all! I've been going to Gina for the past few years. My hair was quite over taxed when I came to her. I started with a Groupon for a Brazilian Blowout and it was amazing how much it transformed my hair. I then had Gina color my hair and I knew that this was a professional that knows hair. She is an amazing colorist. She can look at your features and know exactly what will look good on you. Sharon, her assistant is right on top of things. She is Gina's right hand person and she is kind and professional. Just last week I was on the train next to a very rambunctious 4 year old boy. He just wanted to get off the train and play with his toy that he had. His grandmother kept telling him to sit still and not bother me. I started to make small talk with him so that he would just chill. Well he looked at me with a big smile and his big brown eyes and said "I like your hair". So I rest my case. I tried to get in and bought a Groupon for here. It says to text a number for an appointment. There was so many miscommunications or the person not understanding/forgot my texts. The texting just went back and forth, and I was told she was waiting on other clients before she could make my appointment. There was no response for days and I got tired of trying. I contacted Groupon on this and they refunded me. As a business, I suggest a better appointment system. A lot of salons add in a feature online where you can book or just even call because otherwise it's just frustrating to constantly book an appointment through text for weeks. read more

I can't review on the salon so much as the customer service.. I bought a Groupon for a one process color service (just wanted to cover my grays) and I texted the number provided. Between waiting hours or days between responses I simply asked if they had any availability before Saturday of the week I texted. "I will let you know ASAP" and days later I still didn't hear back. It shouldn't take that long to check a schedule. Luckily, it was within the 3 day time frame when you can still cancel a Groupon. From the other reviews here it seems like they don't prioritize Groupon customers, and if that's the case why bother enrolling your business? Groupon customers could be potential regular clients. Absolutely horrible, the owner Gina is a fraud I bought a Groupon for a partial foil I forget the exact price but it was really good so after being given the runaround with her not returning phone calls I finally get an appointment and I told her I had a Groupon I get there and she tells me that I had too many grays to give me a partial foil. The only thing that she could do is give me a full color and then add some foils after explaining all this to me she told me that the price would be about $250 I had a feeling she would be wrong about my greys because I have had foils before and no one ever had an issue with my greys. So I asked around anyways and everyone said that is absolutely not true it's your personal preference if you want to get for foils with your grays and not a full color I told her that was too much money after I already spent money on a Groupon and now I see that Groupon doesn't even offer a Groupon for her Services anymore someone must have reported that she was a fraud read more

I have been going to Gina for two years. She is a proud local girl, lively and spirited. She really listens to what you want, has truly impressive skills and gives impeccable advice. She will, however, refuse to use a color for your hair that would make you, and therefore her, look bad! This is a good thing, believe me. The best decision I ever made was to let her do what she thought best. The salon in which she works is nothing fancy, but don't worry. When you make an appointment for a cut, color and highlights, be prepared for several (3-5) hours spent. Reasonable prices for all you get. Finally I stopped in to see if the place was still in business and she told me she only take appointments. I told her I have been calling and texting but she nv responded. I showed her my text messages dating back to September. She told me to txt her again I did and long story short she made appointments with me and canceled 3 times. I showed up 5 minutes early for my appointment and let Gina know I was there and that the door was locked. She responded saying 'on my way'. 20 minutes later I had not heard from her, so I left. She then texted me telling me she was there and to come around back. I let her know that I had left as she was 20 minutes late. She responded saying 'she was so sorry she was stuck in traffic.' Massage was excellent!! Had a deep tissue massage that was much needed. Had never been there before but heard about how great the hair colorist ,Gina, was from a friend who had her hair colored and also had a Brazilian Blowout which looked and felt fantastic. Seriously though, my body was extremely in need of a massage due to my job. I'm a nursing assistant where I am required to help move and lift patient's . Although, I love my job, it is very demanding on my body. I have to say that I was very impressed with how courteous the staff was. I had never had a massage before because the thought of laying on a table wearing only my underwear and having a stranger massage my body was pretty scary not to mention that i have some body issues. I always thought i would like to lose some weight before i would go for a massage. The massage therapist, Tara, made me feel very comfortable and I was totally relaxed, which surprised me because I was so anxious beforehand. Since it was my first time ever getting a massage, Tara explained everything that she was going to do after asking me some questions regarding my reasons for needing a massage and some health related issues. The massage itself was deep tissue and even though it was somewhat painful, it was the good kind of pain if that makes any sense. She worked out all my tightness and she showed me some stretches I should do at home. My massage was two weeks ago and I am going to see her again next week. I feel like a new person and I am so happy to have found her. Prices were reasonable and when I told her that i wanted to come regularly, she gave me a really good deal. read more

I started getting Brazilian Blowouts in 2010. I had EXTREMELY frizzy and unmanageable hair my whole life. I've been getting 3-5 Brazilian Blowouts at a year since then. In the last 6.5 yrs I've lived in Texas, Missouri, South Carolina and now Massachusetts. Gina's Brazilian Blowouts make my previous ones look like they were the product of Beauty School dropouts. Do not waste your time or money. I set up an appointment for a balayage and hair cut she canceled the appointment two hours before hand. I made my new appointment for the following weekend, after driving an hour to her salon and trying to figure out what door to walk in because there are no signs at all. I walk in and she tells me that she cannot take me for another hour or so... my appointment was for 11:00 AM, she told me to go home and come back. I told her that wasn't an option for me seeing as a live an hour away. She began questioning why I would come to a salon so far from my home. I told her that I received the groupon has a gift. Then she tells me that cannot do my hair at all the only thing she could do is add baby lights. Needless to say I left and will never ever return back, she is very rude and unprofessional. Salon GG is an amazing spot for hair and nails! Gina is by far the most talented hair dresser I have ever gone to. Her cuts and color never disappoint. Each time I go I step out of her salon feeling like a million dollars! I am usually a very fussy customer but I've never had to be with Gina. She truly is so talented. I am a blonde and she is the only hairdresser that has ever been able to give me the exact color of lo lights and high lights that I want. I have also had Brazilian blowouts done by Gina and I can't believe how straight my hair is and how long the treatment lasts! Groupon is misleading. You have to pay extra $50 in cash for a glaze which is normally $20 in most other salons. Overbooked, long wait times, crowded and noisy -all these are not worth the cut,color or style I got. read more
