I completely understand life happens - people get sick, emergencies arise, but when it happens twice in a row, the salon should do something more then send a generic text and then ignore their customers. After my replies to said text were not answered, I had to take it upon myself to call the salon to see if they could get me in another time. I made this appointment FIVE WEEKS in advance and needed my hair done for an event over the weekend. The woman on the phone was not very nice. When I expressed I was disappointed because this is the second time in a row this happened, she just said "we can't have people work when they're sick..." she completely missed the point. If I get cancelled on last minute, twice in a row, and you can't accommodate a new reservation, give your customer a discount or a free hair product. Not an attitude. Especially when the salon would have gladly charge me in FULL if I was the one to cancel last minute. Thankfully, I was able to find a place in the area that took me last minute so I will be paying them from now on. There are plenty of other places, who charge better, and care about their customers, so tread carefully with this place.

I received a bad haircut 2+ years ago at a different salon and I was finally feeling like I could go and get my haircut again. I was very careful when researching salons and thought this place would be a good fit. I mentioned in my booking that this was my first haircut in a while due to a bad experience and told my stylist. The salon also asked for pictures of my hair and sent a questionnaire asking what I wanted. I said multiple times that I wanted long layers and to keep most of my length. That did not happen. The stylist kept length in the back and gave me very short layers and I do not like the very poofy, volumized look. When I have gotten curly cuts in the past, it's like they are carving my curls with their scissors and making them fall nicely. The stylist here took portions of my hair and pulled them to the opposite side of my head to cut and give me very short layers. When dried, the curls get muddled together and do not even fall nicely. I feel like I have a shelf of short curls around my head. I wear my hair up and I cannot even wear it braided due to all the layers. When I shower I am reminded of what a hack job of a haircut I received and get sad all over again. Having mentioned my troubled past with haircuts in the booking (and in person), I thought that they would be very careful when cutting my hair. I am aware that my past heightens my current disappointment, but I think it is still worth to note to prospective customers that they are not able to achieve long layers.

Making an appointment was quite easy after I'd described what I was looking for. When I arrived for my appointment, I was offered my choice of assorted coffees, teas & freshly baked goods. My jacket was hung & I was given a tour. The salon is quite lovely. Each time I've been there, the staff has always been friendly, thoughtful, patient, & helpful. They're a real team of skilled pros. After I've spoken w/Kelly or Elizabeth at length, they asked questions & made recommendations based on the shape of my head, texture of my hair, preferences, & other factors. They really took their time working w/me & /(the other clients, I noticed, many of whom I know). Then they brought me back to the soothingly dimly lit shampoo room. They played soft music & explained the products they were using before they began shampooing, thoughtfully checking my comfort level w/the water temp, etc. The bonus is that they give you a Wonderful head & neck massage while they're shampooing & conditioning! Next come the warm towels on the neck--ahhh! How luxurious! They cut & styled my hair, making light conversation w/me and the others in the salon. They gave me tips & guided me through every step of the way. I loved my hair & have gotten many compliments & inquiries. And, to boot, the prices were so reasonable. The stylist explained to me that their notes go directly into the computer, "so we can keep track of what we did step-by-step & the results. Then next time, we can either duplicate that or make adjustments." And, they all work together as a team, so if my regular stylist isn't available & I'm in a pinch, one of the others can pick up from there. They also help each other throughout the day. It's "A Paul Mitchell Focus Salon" & the owner, Catherine is also a National Educator for Paul Mitchell. All the stylists have ongoing education which translates into the latest techniques & styles! It's been quite a pleasant, satisfying experience each & every time, & they have a wide range of services that I'll be trying. I am so happy w/that I wish I'd come here sooner!! I had heard a lot of wonderful things about this salon, and Kiley specifically, so I was SO happy to be able to book an appointment with her. She really listened to me when I described to her what I was looking for in a hair style and we agreed on a layered, angled bob. She did an amazing job. I LOVE it. The salon is beautiful. Kiley gave me a little tour of the place before I sat down to get my cut and I loved the design. It was very warm and comforting to be there. The staff all seem really happy to be working there and working with each other. It really instilled confidence in me as a client knowing that the stylists are happy to be working there. After Christmas I went back for color and again, Kiley did a fantastic job. I was so happy with the results. It was exactly what I wanted.
