First of all, this review is only targeted to the owner Nicole Ott. The rest of the staff was phenomenal! Had an awesome facial with Katie, a wonderful Pedi with Maura and an amazing cut with Shannon. The one star is based on the fact that they would not honor my $200 gift card. Even after I provided the receipt of purchase and the owner who was not on site was called. Yes it was from December 2019 but theres a pandemic, until now Ive felt comfortable. I work with Covid patients I know how dangerous it is out there. Also I was assured the gift cards dont expire. Nicole only said she would honor $100 leaving me stuck with a $100 bill. She wouldnt even accept my counteroffer to PLEASE honor me $150. It was just a flat out NO. Implying that there was no way of knowing that I hadnt used it already. In other words calling me a thief. This was the review I left them on their personal page ..... Staff was wonderful, Maura, Shannon, and Katie. Owners customer service Terrible! Im talking to you Nicole Ott. Funny how you wouldn't honor my gift card because it was not accepted by your system, stating it was under The beauty loft at Luxebeautique and owners had been changed. Yet the receipt and gift card I provided had both names as well as the receipt I got after having to PAY AGAIN. I am not sure how this was my fault or why I had to suffer the lost. I shouldve called the police!!! You're just gonna honor $100 of my $200 gift card!!! Really?!! Beyond unfair. If I didnt cause a scene it was because there were people there, but never had I felt so humiliated and embarrassed. I do not blame the receptionist( Stephanie who was kind and also super apologetic unlike you) but when she called you and you refused to completely honor my gift card you didnt even have the decency to tell me yourself. I was so happy for a minute feeling beautiful til you made me feel so ugly. Shame on you, this wasnt just a $50 gift card, this was a $200 gift card. You have no idea how hard I work for that money and the week I was having. Ill be sure to Yelp you and remind you Kharma is a bitch. I purchased a facial, mani and pedi for my 12 year old daughter entering grade 7. She opted for a French manicure. The service at the time was great and the place was spotless. About two days after the manicure four nails started to peel. I contacted Lux to have them repaired. No one picked up so I left a message. No one ever called back... very disappointing for me as a single dad... even more disappointing for Lux as that my daughter wanted to plan a spa day for her 13th bday at Lux spa with some of her friends... First off, let me just say that I have no other affiliation with Luxebeautique, I'm just a customer, so yelp - if you feel the need to contact me to verify, please do so. I purchased a Groupon back in May (2011) for a full set of eyelash extensions and immediately booked my appointment. The staff was friendly and they worked around my crazy schedule to book the appointment. When I tell you that I had the worst, fine and truly unworkable lashes to place extensions on, I'm NOT over reacting! After years of putting fake lashes on myself, I had destroyed them and Amy (the owner)STILL took the challenge of placing a full set on my lashes. A little over an hour later, I opened my eyes to see a gorgeous set of lash extensions. Amy recommended the lash curler for my lashes because (despite what the user below states) it IS recommended - the curler actually helps the new lash growth form to the rest of the lashes. She also recommended the "Revita-lash" which has substancially doubled the amount of my own lashes! The staff and owner here are incredibly friendly, work hard to get your appointment placed around your schedule and have an amazing amount of services provided all in one spa. It's been seven months since I've had my first visit to Luxe for my lashes and I look forward to my monthly appointments for lash fills with Amy! read more

I've had 4 visits now to LuxeBeautiQue and I couldn't be happier with the service or the product (lash extensions). When I first arrived at LuceBeautiQue, it was for a "fill". I already had lash extensions from a well know "Lux" eyelash shop in Boston - and frankly was tired of the commute and price. What I found at LuxBeautiQue was a warm, professional, flexible environment that allows me (with my crazy schedule) to keep up my lashes and to feel pampered and beautiful every time I leave. I recommend them to all of my friends, and even strangers who compliment my lashes. The reason they are not getting 5 stars is that sometimes there is a wait (which has never bothered me but might bother someone else). read more

I admit I can't remember the esthetician's name, but I was at Luxe for a full leg wax w/ bikini and must say I was a bit underwhelmed by what I got for the $95. The room was hot, apparently not airconditioned like the rest of the salon, and really stuffy. The girl wasn't into idle chatter at all, which made me feel kind of unwelcome and awkward. And for $95, she wasn't very thorough. Much of my thighs were left unwaxed and the bikini wax didn't clean up as much as I would have liked. I definitely couldn't wear a bathing suit afterwards with any degree of confidence. Eh. I won't be back. read more

Bought a Groupon for a mani pedi. It also gave me an option to upgrade to shellac when I got there so that was the plan. The place is so beautiful but I wish they put more effort into their actual services than decorating the place. The pedi was done in a big bowl, not really what I expected from a spa that claims to be upscale. During my pedi, the owner came and sat by me to try to sell me a treatment where I'd have to inject my face with some chemicals to give me perfect skin. I take great care of my skin and I don't need all that. I kept asking her what exactly was in the solution that she'd be injecting and she couldn't even answer the question. Also her face legit looked like plastic. Definitely not the look I'm going for so I declined. Pedicure was done and it looked like I painted it myself. Sigh. We went over to the manicure station for the shellac. It was awful. I don't think the lady had ever done one before, let alone a regular manicure. It looked like a child painted my nails. Edges not covered and the paint wasn't smooth at all. She claimed that the polish was too thick. It wasn't. Then I explained to her about the jagged edges. She offered to fix them but as soon as she tried to make one better, it looked much worse. At this point I was there for almost THREE HOURS. Told her to stop and left. 10/10 would NEVER go back to this place. It's a shame... The place is beautiful. read more

I went here for waxing services and the esthetician, Cara, did a good job. The current location is small and in an older building, but they are moving a few blocks down. The boutique part in front is bright and airy, and the waxing room was warm and relaxing. The store sells cosmetics & fragrances. Everyone was really friendly, and not snooty like they can be at some spas. Prices are about average for spa services. I had a good experience & would go back. read more

I had purchased a groupon for eyelash extensions so I made an appointment. Amy worked on my lashes and she did a wonderful job on them! My lashes were fine and short and straight, now they're long and think and curl up. Would definitely recommend this spa. Staff is pleasant and atmosphere is nice. read more

Where do I begin? The overly aggressive owner, the inconsistent services, or the less than professional staff? The space is lovely but unfortunately the services and staff do not match the space....not so shiny and bright. The owner is too aggressive and pushes invasive cosmetic product that is inappropriate given no inquiry of the same. The services were poor in that the manicures fell apart within days ( my manicurist left repeatedly to take calls)....nothing relaxing or spa oriented. Last, my daughter had a hair cut, just a trim and it turned out horribly.......no skilled stylists in this place. DO NOT GET YOUR HAIR DONE HERE!!! It took my daughter 6 months to grow out the damage. Skip it and make the effort to go to Boston. read more

I visited the Luxebeautique shortly after they moved to their new location. I had a facial with Andrea, and it was the best I have ever had. Her touch and massage were very effective and relaxing. Andrea recommended the Organic Pumpkin Facial, and the aroma was amazing. My skin looked and felt fantastic. I bought some products recommended by Andrea from the Murad line, and my wrinkles are really diminished. I cannot wait to go back for a vitamin c facial. ~Joan read more

I decided to check out LuxeBeautiQue because of their recent Groupon. I had a massage (using the Groupon) and added a pedicure. Overall, I enjoyed my experience there. The staff was warm and friendly. The space was nice and the treatment rooms were large - especially compared to other spas on the North Shore. The pedicure was very good. They use a line of vegan nail polish that sounded gimmicky, but actually turned out to be very shiny and long-lasting. While I really did enjoy the service (the leg/foot massage was excellent, the scrubbing was effective and the end result was lovely) I found the unconventional seating area for pedi's a bit uncomfortable, despite their efforts to furnish the built-in bench with loads of luxurious pillows. I completely enjoyed my deep tissue massage with Pat. She did an incredible job working on my problem areas and she accommodated my requests to focus on some spots more than others. By far, that was one of the best professional massages I've ever had! My only suggestion to the LuxeBeautiQue would be to change and lower the volume on the music in the main area. The main-stream radio was nice, but it didn't really have that spa-vibe. Also, I could hear the radio inside the treatment room where different, more relaxing, music was playing. read more

I went in here for a project I had to do for esthetician school. I walked in and I was immediately greeted by the front desk staff. I needed a brochure for my project but they didn't have any of hand, so the receptionist was nice enough to print one out for me from their website. They offer all kinds of services, and offer some beautiful products. Everyone was very friendly, and everything was super clean! I'll definitely be back for future services. read more

Facial was decent at best. Overall, the place is too sales-y. They have all these ads all over the place for stuff they want you to have done. And, after the facial they have about $300 worth if products they "suggest" / i.e. - want you to buy and when you decline look at you funny. I want to go to a spa to relax - and not feel pressured into buying stuff. Not to mention, the place isn't even that nice. I'll make the trek into Boston next time. Worth the drive! read more

I tried out Luxe for a massage today and the place is gorgeous and owner are very friendly. Mike is the massage therapist and he was running late and 15 mins into the massage his phone rang which was a music tone. Not only did that happen but he texted messaged the person and then few mins later asks me if I'm still with him, I say yeah, are you? Massage was ok I felt like I got mostly oil rubbed all over me. I also counted, 9 warm and dry towels were used during my 50 min massage. A little excessive and unnecessary. I wouldn't recommend a massage here but for the Salon services I would check it out. Prices are high but Amy the owner was kind enough to give me 20% off my Massage after I told her what happened. read more

I was a bit disappointed, I bought a Mani pedi Groupon that indicated at time of service I could upgrade to a shellac for $10. more. Since it was my birthday I decided I would treat myself. Well I was immediately told no, she didn't have time. ( why would it state at time of service you may upgrade if its a time issue,). First was the pedi, they had you sit on a raised bench with pillows, the water to put my feet in was in a big bowl and she had to heat more water. (You would think for the money they charge, they would have nicer more comfortable, relaxing set up). The girl that provided the service was awesome, very professional. The nice part was that polish on my fingernails lasted over two weeks, and I work on a computer typing all day! read more

Brought my friend there this weekend for a massage as well as mani/pedis for a surprise for her birthday. It was absolutely fantastic. First off making the appointment could not have been easier. I wrote an email to their address in the contact section of their website explaining what I was looking for and I got an email back only a few hours later. We emailed back and forth a few times but the responses were always speedy and polite. The staff is so lovely. We got stuck in traffic behind the massive motorcycle parade and ended up being very late for my friend's massage. When I spoke to the receptionist on the phone she was lovely and very understanding. I was so afraid that they would charge me the full price and cut the massage in length (or cancel it completely) but they said it was no problem. They also arranged it so I got my manicure as my friend finished her massage. Then we got side by side pedicures and my friend got her manicure in the back so that we could still sit and talk. My friend loved the massage and raved at the pressure that she used as well as the technique that he woman had. We both loved our beauticians. They were hilarious and we could not have had a better time. Everyone in the salon was wishing my friend a happy birthday because they all knew I was taking her there for a surprise and they all wanted to know what other plans we had for the night. Even giving us suggestions for places to eat in the area. We even got coupons for money off of our next treatments. The salon is in a lovely location and it was great to be able to see the ocean from the manicure station and to smell the ocean (they had the front door open.) I am so happy that I found this little gem. It has all of the benefits of a Newbury St. salon but with better prices and less craziness. We will both definitely return. read more

CHRISTINA IS UNREAL. I was in the other day and she is easily the BEST hair dresser I have ever been to. She did a wash cut blow dry and I have never been more impressed. The layers are PERFECT. I have never been so happy with a hair cut in my life and at about 40 years old (give or take) I have had quite a few and she does fantastic. I highly highly recommend her. read more

I originally went to Newbury St. in Boston because I thought on Newbury St. I would both pay for the best and get the best.. NOT TRUE! I have been to 3 other Salons, been more than disappointed, except for LuxeBeautiQue! Amy the owner does my Lashes, she is a Professional, she is caring, gentle, and does an ABSOLUTE INCREDIBLY METICULOUS job! My Lashes are BEAUTIFUL, STRONG and growing longer and stronger every day because of a product she sells in addition to the Lash Extensions! I am VERY Happy! I also purchase Murad Cleansing and Moisturizing Systems and Becca Makeup from Amy, and Tiffany, and have had my makeup done by both Amy and Tiffany Professionally there as well with results that I am MORE than Happy with! The Salon has a Friendly ,Warm and Professional Atmosphere! They are ALWAYS willing to accomodate me because I travel over 65 miles to get to them! I have NOT been able, nor will I bother to find a Salon closer to home. I am Very Pleased with the Salon, it's employee's andespecially Amy the owner. The eyelash extensions are amazing! I've been back for eyelash extension full sets and fills a couple of times and I'd never go anywhere else (again). The owner Amy is amazing at making the extensions look natural yet stunning. I first got them during the summer and it was amazing to not have to wear eye makeup and worry about it running or looking too made-up. They are so natural looking that my fiancé couldn't quite put his finger on what was different about me. With my wedding approaching this Fall, I knew that I absolutely wanted to do them again and I made the huge mistake of going somewhere else in Boston. The other place was terrible and I had to have them removed immediately - she also cut my natural lashes and scratched my lid - and this was a week before my wedding. Amy saved me by making a special appointment after hours to do my lashes the day before I left for the wedding in Florida. My lashes were beautiful for the week of my wedding and throughout our honeymoon (and still are 3 weeks later). My now-husband couldn't stop saying how beautiful I looked and even had to ask the other day if I still had the lashes. My professional photographer and my make-up artist were amazed at my lashes (once I told them they were extensions) and said they looked better than any they had ever seen and that they would get them themselves but only if they could go where I went. Even at first, the photographer wasn't sure if I had my makeup done already or not - just because of the lashes. read more

I LOVE this place! They sell really great products, their facials have dramatically improved my skin (Ultrasonic treatments) to the point where I no longer use foundation, the nail polishes they use are vegan, the wax is natural. Both Neysa and the other woman (can't remember her name but she's AMAZING), have been thorough with waxing, and for some reason, I experience less pain than at other places. The Malie hand washes and candles from Hawaii smell so good, I feel like I'm back in Hawaii every time I use them! Their new shop is inviting and relaxing and the people are friendly and helpful. I'm giving 4 out of 5 stars because my manis there have been good, but sometimes they've been way too long. I'm not one to want to sit having my nails done for an hour, but some people probably love it. read more

Julianna is the best. I purchased a package from a discount/group purchase style site for microderm and a hydro facial w extra serum, something. It was amazing. Amazing. I re-scheduled with Julianna for a regular facial and it was great. I am going back for microderm and then 2 weeks later that fancy hydro/oxygen facial again in June before a wedding (pictures!) and know my skin will glow. Their prices, for how clean and modern it is, the high quality of the products they use, the look and feel of the place are very reasonable. Ask for Julianna! She knows what she's doing - her touch will press away stress, acne and age! Cannot ask for more. It's beautiful inside as well, best products. Will try their application of shellac, too. Wedding nails (lt bf's sister's getting married) have to be perfect, and I trust that my shellac French will be perfect from the service I've received thus far. Try them! I've always wanted to try lash extensions and when the opportunity came to purchase a Groupon for a set of lash extensions for over half off, I was all over it. I made my appointment immediately and prepared for my first experience in lash extensions. I arrived a few minutes early when they were getting ready so I didn't mind waiting. About 15 minutes past my set appointment time, they were ready for me. Amy worked with me on my lashes and was very nice and kept a friendly conversation throughout the session. There were several interruptions when she had to leave the room to check on things, get things, and I don't know what else. At one point, a client who was interested in lash extensions was invited to watch Amy work on my lashes. I thought this was an unusual request, but I said ok. My natural lashes are thin, straight, and points down. Amy told me several times that this makes adding extensions very difficult and she had to use a heated lash curler to lift my lashes to glue the extensions on. I thought this was strange as in my research, I always read that you are discouraged from curling your lashes before the procedure. But, I trusted that they knew what they were doing and didn't ask further. This went on for about an hour and a half and I was highly anticipating my new lashes when she finally announced that I was done. I opened my eyes and the first thing I noticed was that the fumes from the glue did sting my eyes a bit. After a few minutes, that went away. When I looked in the mirror, I was very surprised at the result. My lashes were definitely more noticeable, but instead of a fuller, natural look, the extensions just looked long and straight on my eyes . The weight of the lashes also gave my eyes a droopy look, instead of the eye opening effect I was going for. Before I left, Amy recommended a heated lash curler so I could curl my new extensions. Again, this was strange because I thought the purpose of the extensions was so I didn't have to use any lash curlers. I walked out of there highly doubting that I would keep them. All in all, I won't be back for lash extensions again. read more

The owner and an employee got in a fight about 5 feet from me as I was getting my nails done. They were (sort of) trying to avoid yelling, but I'm talking an intense, catty argument that went on for several minutes. I later found out they're sisters, which makes sense given the way they were arguing, but doesn't make it any less unprofessional. Bethany was an amazing stylist, and the other stylists seemed friendly and talented too, but the management of this place is a disaster. i had a gift certificate to luxebeautique and decided to use it for a facial. the owner was incredibly helpful on the phone when i booked my appointment, and i was excited. however, when i arrived for my 1pm appointment, i sat and waited for almost 30 minutes before anyone let me know that the technician was running late. in fact, i had to ask the owner if there was some kind of back-up. no one offered me water, asked if i needed anything or let me know i would be waiting for so long. the facial itself was terrific, and i would recommend the technician - i think her name was jill - highly. however, when the process was over she told me she had "pulled" two products that she had used during my facial for me to look at. she showed me the lotions and then said she would put them next to the cash register for me, which seemed odd. when i walked up to present my gift card for the facial, the girl at the counter started ringing up the lotions without asking if i wanted them or not. i asked how much the products were, and just one of them was $97! i was shocked that it was just assumed that i would buy these products without any discussion or chance to opt out. luxebeautique seems to offer great products and services, but could work harder on their customer service, for sure. read more

Maura was amazing. I went in for a microdermabrasion and spray tan on Saturday. It has almost been a week now and my spray tan is still here and i look amazing! Maura also made my face feel absolutely amazing. She was professional, helpful, and taught me a lot i did not know abut my skin! I cannot wait to come back and see her again! Don't go for manicure and pedicure. After 2 days my fingers still hurt. I hope that staff is trained to do other services but definitely the staff is not trained for mani/pedi services. Place where it's done is very uncomfortable, basically a bench and a bowl... Service is overpriced. read more

I went in for airbrush tanning and will never go back. The staff there are super friendly and it is a beautiful salon. I don't think they have the experience required to do the airbrush tanning. With a spray tan you can't see the results until the next day and after showering my feet, elbows and hands were very orange and would not come off but it was because they did not apply a certain lotion that there is for those certain areas for that to not happen. I also had lines all over my legs from my pants rubbing and sticking to me but it was because they did not have a fan to help me dry and I had to air dry then get dressed. I think that if they get the proper things they need like the fans and the lotion for those certain areas they will be good to go!! I had a wedding to go to the next day which was the reason for this spray tan and I looked really crazy with a dress and very discolored :-( read more

I had a lovely facial and massage at this spa, but the makeup artist left something to be desired. I am fair skinned and pink cheeked, with very good skin, but she plastered me over with a mask-like cover of somewhat sallow foundation with absolutely no rouge or other color to define my cheekbones. Like pancake makeup. I had to ask her to apply a little rouge; she hadn't considered any contouring. And I have very pale eyebrows that are invisible without some pencil or color to give them definition -- she wasn't going to do anything with my brows until I asked her to. I should not have to tell a professional how to do her job. I'm open to new tricks and tips, but learned nothing I would ever repeat. And to top it off, she got beige foundation on my dark shirt -- she had given me no protective cover for my clothes. Her cavalier response to that -- "Oh, it will come out in the wash." Unfortunately, I was leaving from there for an evening out, not for the laundromat. Very unimpressed. They advertised that their makeup artist is the one used by the Patriots' cheerleaders -- I guess I didn't get the one they advertised. read more
