Deanna brought my hair back to life…read more I booked an appt day-of for a trim. While talking with her about my hair dislikes of my current color, cut, and concerns of my time restraint (I had work in 2 hrs) she suggested I tone my hair and cut off the dead ends. I showed her one photo of a cut I liked and that was enough. She understood exactly what I needed. Once she was finished, My hair looked and felt amazing. I walked out of the salon with time to get to work without feeling rushed. Typically I would have spent a full day and $400 getting my hair highlighted, toned and cut. But she helped to preserve and extend the life of my grown out highlighted hair in record time and under $100. I rarely write reviews on yelp, but I have to rave about my experience with Deanna. I absolutely will be going back, and will absolutely refer her to friends and family.

It was my dream blonde (I'm naturally pretty dark haired) and there was no damage to my hair. Months later when Carley was out on leave and I wanted to go back to my brunette color, I made an appointment with Shauna. All I had to do was tell her a bit of what I wanted and she mastered it. There is no "wrong" selection when picking a stylist at this salon. Everyone is lovely, talented, and I would 1000% recommend this salon, especially after my experience with Carley and Shauna!

HAIR EXTENSIONS RUINED MY HAIR! As lovely as hair extensions…read morecan be for an instant change in your looks, they can also be terrible for your natural hair - to the point where you're googling "Help! Hair extensions ruined my hair!". With all that extra length and added volume comes the inevitable science that is an added weight to your scalp, which is precious and delicate already, causing major stress on your follicles from the strain of all that weight from your hair extensions - this is where hair extensions can ruin your hair. Regardless of the method used for applications tailored to each style of hair extensions that are available, hair extensions are attached to your hair - tugging at your scalp as well as your hair and because of this fact, hair extensions CAN ruin your hair but the damage can also be avoided. The tension from wearing hair extensions can lead to traction alopecia which is a type of alopecia caused from when pressure has constantly been put on the roots which has damaged your hair follicles. The most damaging factor of hair extensions is the application - if it's not done correctly by someone who is specialised in the particular type of hair extensions you're getting, you could end up with less hair than you started

I've been going to Andiamo's for years -- ever since I was maybe around 10 years old. I'm now 26…read more I've known the stylists for more than half my life, and each of them is wonderful in their own way. My stylist, Denise, is a *genius* when it comes to color and an eyebrow-waxing perfectionist, and she knows exactly how to cut my curly hair (growing up, no stylist at any other salon could get it right). Michelle, the co-owner (with Denise), is incredible with a pair of sheers -- family friends who are, themselves, hair stylists go to her for their own hair. Not one of them has ever been disappointed. John, Jennifer, and their part-time stylists are all incredible, both in terms of what they do (John does a mean up 'do!) and as conversationalists. The salon is always clean and there is always music playing. The prices are more than fair, for both services and products. I honestly can't imagine going anywhere else. Now that I'm no longer living in Winthrop, it's a little more of a hassle to drive there, but it's 100% worth it. No matter where I go, I will always come back to Andiamos, where I know I'm getting my money's worth. (And someday, when I'm a gazillionaire, I'm kidnapping Denise and paying her an obscene amount of money to be my personal hair stylist!)

But if you're not trained properly even if you work your ass off you could still not achieve the outcome you're going for. Please don't hold anything against the employees who work here. Cons: Highly defensive and gaslighting owner. Cares only about the reputation of her business, but doesn't have the genuine care it takes to retain loyal customers. Very fake "friendly," like aggressively friendly to the point where you're not allowed to have your own feelings or opinions. Will cut you off and claim you're the one interrupting, will assume any pushback is an attack, will think the worst of you when you're trying your best to be courteous to everyone else. Also: your brows will be bleached off such that you don't have any brows anymore lmao.
