This a little hole in the wall place that reminds me of a house house party my uncle would be at. They get busy and a little loud. I stopped by for take out and the lady taking orders over the phone was having a super hard time hearing people because it was so loud which is super unfortunate for her and their customers. I was tempted to get the chicken and waffles but didn't want it to be cold when I got home so I opted for chicken tenders and fries. The food didn't take terribly long. While there I was able to hear the dj playing. There was a mix of r&b, go go and rap. No complaints there, it's an old school kind of vibe. They have a bar and do $5 drinks during what I assume is their happy hour. Got home, popped open the white box to reveal puny little chicken tenders and unseasoned fries. The tenders had a gritty taste to them. They aren't heavily breaded at all... it's kinda like someone sprinkled some bread crumbs on some chicken and called it a day. The food here is phenomenal. I ordered the wings plus some ribs. Their ribs were juicy and tender and theyy had so many great flavors for their wings. However, I would say the only bad part of my experience there would be the cleanliness of the place. I went here for lunch with two of my coworkers. One of them has suggested we check the place out.. I was rather skeptical. Nothing like a spot with superior chicken and waffles but a rude ass staff! I mean literally had to ask for silverware and when I did the waitress kinda rolled her eyes! I enjoy coming to this restaurant... the wings are pretty good "dirty bird" are the best! I also enjoy the clams and fish as well! On Thursdays and Saturday nights they have Karaoke and that's when the fun begins... the crowd is mixed but you have to get in early to catch a good seat. They tried to bring the down south to Virginia. It was a horrible job. The wings are underseason or over seasoned. The ribs has too much sodium and are always tough. I thought ribs should be tender and fall off the bone. The prices are ridiculous. The staff. Well the staff is just horrible. No one greeted me. No one checked on me. Cool vibe as soon as you walk in. Though the establishment has an open setting this place is inviting. Ordered the Chicken fingers with Honey Mustard online. It was delivered cold and w/o the sauce. I'm not going to make a big deal over not getting sauce but I did contact GrubHub (who I ordered through) to get a partial refund. GrubHub called the restaurant and was told that the honey mustard is not part menu - never mind that their online menu clearly shows it. (And I've ordered this same thing from them several times before) I'm not going to quibble over honey mustard, guys. But the food was cold anyway and the chicken was dry. Maybe dine-in is better, but they need to update their online menu if they are filling orders to items that don't exist? Won't order from them again. The prices are pretty decent, but that's probably because the food quality is not there. I ordered chicken and waffles, and it took so long for the food to come out. I also wanted cheese fries but they were out of the cheese for it but I settled for regular fries. My food was warm, not hot at all. The waffle was like the kind you make yourself at a hotel breakfast. The wings were dry and skimpy. The service was not the greatest. I didn't hear a hello when I walked in. I always get the lemon pepper wet. 10 bucks for amazing wings and fries is good too. it's a lil dirty, my order gets over charged sometimes and the waitress does nothing about it when I ask. My brother told me the spot from the show ATL has opened a #RVA location, so I had to go. I called my order in and it was ready when I got there. The lemon pepper wings were pretty good...I thought the buffalo wings were average. But the dirty bird flavor...it's hard to describe but it's good. Do NOT ever order pickup or delivery (ubereats) from this place. Your food will be stored in a very unsanitary area by the door, with no heating element nor any insulation. They store it on top of what looks like an old drink machine, in paper boxes. This is a serious issue and I'd like to see what a health inspector would think of this place. In addition I received a completely different order, and my interaction with the first two ladies in the pickup area seemed to be negative as if it was my fault I got the wrong order, and the wings were overcooked and tough from having almost completely cooled after cooking by the time I got there. I would have to say me and my family decided to try JR Crickets because they were new to RVA area but little did we know that was such a big mistake. It was a party of 7 and we were seated immediately upon arrival because there was literally only 3 people there for dinner. We first placed our drink order and it took forever to get our drinks. We then asked to place an appetizer order and we ordered the buffalo wings and fries. The buffalo wings where not good at all and the fries was not very hot and seasoned. Of course, we were still waiting on our drink order. There was no silverware on the table and no plates to eat off of. We then asked for silverware twice and it took her about 15 minutes to bring that. She seemed to be very upset when we asked again. When she finally brought the silverware it was only plasticware. My daughter ordered ribs and they were so tough she couldn't even eat them. My grandson wanted chicken and waffle and she said they had no waffles because the waffle machine was broke. I ordered the buffalo shrimp. The shrimp was good but there was only 6 very small salad sizes. By the time we all finished picking through our food we were just about done. The ticket then arrived and they charged us almost double and got mad when we questioned the items and amount. They charged us almost $300 for a $125.00 meal. I will never go here again. Watch your receipt and credit card if you go. They put in false charges if you don't look clearly. read more
