I went here for lunch with two of my coworkers. One of them has suggested we check the place out.. I was rather skeptical. I ordered the chicken tender because I felt if you mess up chicken tenders then there's no going back. Man those tenders were quite delicious. I got the sanchez sauce which was good just a little too salty for me. Both of my coworkers enjoyed their meals and we will all be returning for more.

Nothing like a spot with superior chicken and waffles but a rude ass staff! I mean literally had to ask for silverware and when I did the waitress kinda rolled her eyes! She took our order and served our food and only checked on us once ridiculous but outside that I would give them four stars the chicken waffle tenders served up in 3 sandwich style was FABULOUS...I think I try them again during the day shift!.....also I've had plenty of chicken and waffles in Richmond $9.50 is definitely unbeatable!...my rating is based of staff just terrible!.....oh forgot to mention the creepy bartender who sat at one of the table facing us and just stared like the end of his days!

I enjoy coming to this restaurant... the wings are pretty good "dirty bird" are the best! I also enjoy the clams and fish as well! On Thursdays and Saturday nights they have Karaoke and that's when the fun begins... the crowd is mixed but you have to get in early to catch a good seat. I threw my boys birthday party here and they were very accommodating with making food platters and creating specials for drinks the entire night in his honor. I would def suggest checking J.R. Crickets out!

They tried to bring the down south to Virginia. It was a horrible job. The wings are underseason or over seasoned. The ribs has too much sodium and are always tough. I thought ribs should be tender and fall off the bone. The prices are ridiculous. The staff. Well the staff is just horrible. No one greeted me. No one checked on me. The food is for people who are hungry and haven't had really good food before. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.

Cool vibe as soon as you walk in. Though the establishment has an open setting this place is inviting. The staff is so down to earth that watching the game at the bar is almost like being at the cool uncles house on game night. I recommend and as a matterfact I may be there when you arrive. First round of wings are on you though.....

I had the sweet potato cornbread, crispy salmon, with a side of collards. My wife had the oysters (with a really tasty hot sauce) and the crab cake (no filler). The server, Briana, was one of the best I've had in a very long time. Personable, great smile, friendly, and knew her stuff. We ordered the brussel sprouts- they were great with a nice heat from the sauce. We had the crispy skin salmon, which came with a nice fresh salad, The skin was amazingly crispy and the flesh was flavorful. I asked Briana to surprise me with something good and boy did she deliver. It was their porkchop served over some super tasty mashed potatoes. Note that this is not how they are usually served, it was Briana's favorite way to eat this dish so she made the decision for me. The porkchop was very very good. Nice grill marks, onions, and a very nice cream-based sauce. This was so so good. They are doing great food at this new location and I will be back again.

The fries were crispy and the perfect side. To top it all off, I had one of their frozen drinks, and it was so refreshing--the perfect pairing with the meal. If you're looking for a casual spot with great food, generous portions, and a fun tropical atmosphere, this place is definitely worth checking out. I'll definitely be back.

The staff were polite, but we had to ask several times to get items we were missing or things we wanted extras of. They checked in on us a fair number of times, but they still forgot to return to give us what we had asked for. By the time we were ready to leave, we still haven't gotten our dressings or our condiments. I also had asked for my burger to be well done, but I got a burger with quite a bit of pink in it. I didn't want to ask for it to be placed back on the grill because I didn't really want to wait longer for my food. Although I wanted my burger to be well done and I didn't get it that way, it was still pretty good. The fries though, I think was the best part of it. The fries were perfectly seasoned and crunchy! I also ordered a coke. Just a heads up, they don't do free refills on the sodas, so each cup is $4. My party also ordered salmon l'orange and a romano salad with salmon. My friends really enjoyed their main dishes, but we did ask for extra dressing. The restaurant is decorated in a boho-style vibe, and it was cute. We found the lighting on the side dining area to be a little bit too dim once the sun went down, but I do think it would've been perfect for a date night vibe. Overall, we had an okay experience.

I am extremely disappointed with my experience at Riverside Tavern on Forest Hill Avenue…read more I ordered the grilled salmon with mashed potatoes and asparagus to go for $23.00. When I opened the container, I was shocked to find that the salmon portion was barely larger than my finger. It looked more like a sample than an entrée. I have attached photos because words alone don't adequately capture how small it was. What makes this even more frustrating is that I have ordered this exact meal before while dining in with my family, and the salmon portion I received then was easily three times larger. So this isn't a case of unrealistic expectations--I know what this dish normally looks like. I called the restaurant to express my concern, hoping they would make it right. Instead, the bartender responded with, "The portions are cut how they are cut," as if that somehow justified charging full price for such a tiny piece of fish. When I asked to speak with the owner, I was told, "You won't be talking to the owner. I'll just give him your information." There was no apology, no offer to replace the meal, no effort to address my concern--just complete indifference. If portions have been reduced, customers should be informed before paying premium prices. If this was simply an inconsistent serving, then quality control is seriously lacking. Either way, charging $23 for what amounts to a nugget of salmon is unacceptable. I used to enjoy Riverside Tavern and specifically ordered this meal because I had a good experience previously. Unfortunately, this visit--and especially the way my complaint was handled--has left me questioning whether I'll be back.

It's a very popular restaurant, so today, when we entered, while we were greeted right away, there was a 30 minute wait. There's no physical menus, instead you scan a QR code which brings you to their menu. They have lots of drink options, including several specialty cocktails, beers, and ciders. Our waiter was super sweet and attentive, and the food came out relatively quickly. For my drink, I ordered a local cider from a Virginia ciderie, as well as the It's A Wrap, which has cheddar, ranch, mixed greens, tomatoes, onions, peppers, and your choice of protein (I got tofu). I also got a side of the Mac and cheese, which I could tell was made in house. Super creamy and flavorful with a hint of spice. My wrap was also insanely good! I'm impressed by the amount of vegetarian options here. Any burger can be made both gluten free or vegan, and the choices of protein make it more accessible for everyone who comes in. This is the restaurant in the lobby of the Omni, and their room service menu has a really solid variety. Appetizers, soups and salads, sandwiches, fish, chicken, steak, seafood, other meat options, plus plenty of sides and desserts. There's something for whatever mood you're in. For my appetizer I ordered the fried green tomatoes. I'm very picky about fried green tomatoes because if they're not done right, they can be greasy and heavy. These were not. They were thick wedges of firm green tomatoes in a light batter, stacked with a spread of pimento cheese and finished with a drizzle of honey. The balance of savory and sweet worked really well, and the texture was exactly what I look for -- crisp outside, tender yet firm inside. For my entrée I chose the roasted lamb rack. It came as two double ribs over a sweet potato purée that had a subtle hint of cinnamon -- really nice flavor without being overpowering. The lamb was cooked to the right temperature, juicy and tender, with a light chimichurri and vegetables alongside. I also ordered the grilled corn succotash as a side -- corn, beans, and tomato. It was fresh and bright and complemented the richness of the lamb perfectly. This is my second time dining here. The first time I had breakfast out on the Westham Porch, and both experiences have been very pleasant.
