During the shipping process, the cabinet got a sizeable dent on the top of it. Because my client didn't open the box until after 2 months after receiving it, the manufacturer wouldn't replace it. I was in dire straights to have someone help me take care of this client. I called two other furniture repair places in the area and the first one said Chino Hills was too far to drive and the second one, who had many more reviews than Cal, said there was no way it could be fixed and even if it could be fixed, it would cost me thousands of dollars. Cal was my only hope. I loved the fact that he said he was a God-fearing man, who didn't work on Sundays and he was not just talking the talk. I could tell this gentleman would do his very best and that was all I was asking for. He quoted me a great and fair price, a price I was so pleased with, that I ended up tipping him. Well after the work was done, I got an email from my client in Chino Hills that said, she couldn't even tell that the cabinet had been damaged and that she absolutely loved that Cal had done the work because she had never seen someone who was this passionate about his work, and someone who wasn't going to leave the job until it was done perfect. I truly believe God gave me Cal to work with because I had been really frustrated with my first two phone calls to the two other more "popular" furniture repair folks on here. Many times when you're dealing with contractors, you feel that a win means, not getting taken of advantage "too much." We did feel 12 bags of self leveling concrete was excessive when it looked like it was only used on a few corners of the room in a job less than 900 sq feet. Unfortunately one of the stair nosing broke within a couple weeks of install. Rafi was responsive in redoing the stairs stating it was a manufacturing defect and that the new version is stronger. Unfortunately the second team quality of work was very poor. They left holes in our walls that were patched poorly with plaster. Worst of all the stairs were apparently nailed to the subfloor and after a few weeks they started to rise leaving little holes and nails protruding from the floor. A few of the stair noses are loose as well. At this point, Rafi became unresponsive to have the flooring fixed. We ended up getting some of our money back through our credit card after months went by but the majority of the payment was by check. Basically we will need to replace the stairs again on our own dime. Buyer beware! Lifetime warranty doesn't mean anything if the installer ghosts you.
