That said, the experience can be very inconsistent. The bar drinks are almost always made far too sweet, and we've had several issues with the food over the years. We've received seafood boils that were cold, bread that wasn't served warm, and even boils with the wrong seasoning. Unfortunately, when we've brought these issues to the staff's attention, they have sometimes been argumentative instead of trying to make it right. When everything is prepared correctly, the food is absolutely worth the visit. However, because the quality is so hit-or-miss, it's difficult to know what kind of experience you'll have each time.

The menu, while it gives you an elevated American food vibe, it is approachable and non-pretensious at the same time. Complimentary bread, served in a cast iron dish has a consistency that reminds you of a cross between corn bread and yeast bread. A nice crisp outside and fluffy center. The T-Ravs had a bit of ricotta in the blend which gave it some creaminess. Not being overly hungry, I went with a Ceasar salad, Tater Tot Casserole and Brussel Sprouts. All of it delicious. Needed a bit more dressing on the salad, but the tater tots Casserole was stupendous! Such a comforting dish, too large to eat the whole thing, but delicious the next day. They offer several fish selections, along with pork, pasta, and chicken dishes, and everything is consistently well executed. I once enjoyed an outstanding scallop and risotto special, while also stealing a few bites of steak from my neighbor's plate. The endless house salad is so freaking good that you could honestly order it alone and leave full and happy. The house-made croutons are fantastic, and the two dressings are even better when combined together. Be sure to try the chipotle corn, which is truly unique and absolutely delicious. Most importantly, save room for the wedding cake. It's a must! I'm looking forward to my next visit.

I was greeted upon walking in, informed I should sit in the bar area for the HH menu. Cool. Christian was my bartender. The place was hopping the whole time I was there. It's obviously a popular regular destination for folks, and the service was impeccable from start to finish. The tuna poke tacos? Were kind of a miss for me. The tuna was great, the spicy coleslaw was great. And the seasoned limes were a nice touch. The taco shells however and ratio of filling? Just not great. The ladies to either side of me also ended up deconstructing theirs and we all left half the shells behind. lol. The goat cheese bruschetta I would get again. THAT SAID... the creamy goat cheese and other toppings were excellently paired with crispy bread and cucumbers. However, the balsamic glaze? Completely wasted on the perimeter of the plate. There was nothing flexible enough to scoop it up. It should've been drizzled on top or in a container so we could drizzle ourselves. Oh and the lavender drop and peach perfect cocktails were both tasty, and not too sweet. The building is lovely, with an outdoor waiting area. I would like to try the rest of the menu.

The corn was amazing, and the shrimp was enormous and so juicy, I'm not sure how they got it that good. Create your own sauce at their sauce bar, choose your broth and order ingredients for your kpot or grill or both. The concept is great, the taste is amazing and the service is wonderful. I can't think of a whole lot that isn't worth a trip here. Yet since this is a review, j will give my couple of nitpicks. Oil or butter should be provided for the grill. While it wasn't quite causing things to stick and our waitress did change the pan once something more is needed in the grill because the meats are so thin and it would impart a bit of flavor. Second salt and pepper are nowhere to be found. Granted I didn't ask because I enjoyed the sauces but my dining partner who isn't as sauce loving as I am would have liked some salt and pepper. Lastly don't go in thinking you will just get what you want and others what they want... while of course you can do that up to 16 ingredients at a time which isn't a problem because you can hit send on the order pad and immediately get more. Yet I wish we had decided together and shared more items because there was incredible food waste. The portions they bring are huge and could be a whole lot smaller... yet the value of what you pay va what you get is definitely worth it. However the waste was sad. You can't take it home and since it is at the table already it has to be thrown out. I understand the liability in allowing raw food to leave the restaurant however I do think you should be able to cook it and take it home. I only say this because the cost of food and number of hungry people our one meal waste could have fed truly made me sad. Finally services. Our waitress was kind, efficient and helpful. She told us what to do, how to do it, cleared and check up on us regularly . It is a bit loud but not so much that you cannot have a conversation which is nice. Overall I really liked this place. Would definitely go back with a bigger group and different ordering strategy. It is a great addition to the area.

They were still serving brunch at the time and everything was looking good, but I decided to order from the regular menu. I got a peach mimosa and the shrimp your way (I chose to have mine charbroiled) and got sautéed green beans and yellow rice for my sides. I got the mimosa first and it was outstanding. It was crisp but not overly sweet and had the perfect alcohol ratio. Shortly after my food came and it didn't disappoint. First of all, I couldn't believe the amount of shrimp I got (by no means am I complaining). Everything was perfectly charbroiled and had the right amount of seasoning.
