I have been here before and come back because the menu, food quality and service are always good. I like "hot fish" which they have a nice variety of. I had the grilled Mediterranean salmon dinner with a salad and baked potato. They have a nice house made green goddess dressing that's very tasty. I had a couple of glasses of Pinot Grigio with my meal that was a nice touch. We also had the hot fudge lava Bundt cake w ice cream to split. It was tasty. The decor is fun.... Fish camp looks w rods, reels, nets, lures etc. nice Friday evening break.

Steak sandwich, upcharge of garlic cheese bread

Finally got to try this place for the first time, can't believe I didn't get the fish but as great as the steak was I'm coming back to try the fish! I had a steak sandwich with added garlic cheese bread, my to go service was on time and still warm. Very pleased with this dinner. The inside is a nice restaurant, very humble waiting and dinning area with nice decorations throughout. The parking lot is large, has no problems finding a spot close. Looking forward to summer when we can sit on the patio, I read it might be dog friendly even. Thanks for the great meal!

Walleye platter, comes with two sides and I chose the fries and green beans

Arrived for a late lunch and I sat at the bar. I asked the waitress what their best lunch item was and she recommended the walleyed platter. It was delicious. I received a large slice of fish. The waitress said they make their own breading and cook it fresh daily and the walleye was delicious. The walleye platter comes with two sides. I chose the green beans with potatoes and onions. I was looking for fresh fruit for my other side but the only fruit they had was applesauce so I chose the fries. The green beans were fresh and cooked just rice and seasoned well. The fries were a mixture of hot fresh fries and mildly warm fries. My waitress gave me excellent service. The inside of this restaurant reminded me of a hunting cabin and an older small town diner. Food was delicious.

One of the few restaurants that serves fried clams. If you visit during a Friday in Lent, arrive early or be prepared to wait for a table.

It offers a very limited menu. The decor reminds me of camp in the 1970's. Very rustic and outdoorsy, which is okay but not what I wanted.

The first thing I noticed when I walked through the door was the pie case. It was "seat yourself," so I decided to sit at the counter. I was acknowledged and waited on right away. They have menus, but I didn't really need one because of the lighted display boards on the wall above the counter. Originally, I was going to order ice cream but decided on a slice of coconut cream pie and a cup of coffee. Not many people were ordering coffee, so I got a fresh pot. The pie crust was flaky while the filling was rich and creamy. My only regret is that I didn't have enough room to order a slice of peach crumb pie, too. Young's features the piecrete which is a slice of pie blended with soft-serve ice cream. Some of the pie is reserved for the topping. (I will definitely have to try one of those!) Also, on my "to-try" list is the chicken basket. The chicken is given a saltwater rinse (brining), before being breaded and cooked in a pressure fryer. While chicken is what they are famous for, I would say it's their friendly, top-notch service that accounts for their repeat business and longevity. Not many restaurants have been in business for over 70 years! If your travels take you to Valley Park, this place is a must stop. Be sure to check out the photos and memorabilia. Special thanks to the owner, Grant, for giving me additional history and information about Young's. I look forward to going there again.

I've been here many times over the years and the food is always delicious. For the age of the building, the restaurant stays super clean. You first walk in to a pie case, full dining room to seat yourself and a diner bar to order and sit at. Since the last time I've been here they've updated their menu boards to digital, cool! I ordered a smash burger with cheese and hush puppies. I love their basic hush puppies! He ordered a double smash cheeseburger and the new jalapeño mac n cheese bites with ranch. They asked if we wanted to keep a tab open, yes! We'll be back for ice cream. The burger was savory and simple. The hush puppies were crisp, flavorful, but a consistent breading inside. Jalapeño mac n cheese bites were served with ranch had a stronger jalapeño flavor but was rich, creaming, crunchy, and delicious. All food was brought to your table with smiles. For dessert he got the coconut cream pie. I didn't see him stop to breathe. My favorite ice cream topping is their cherry chip dip put in the concretes. Unfortunately, they were out! I went simple and got a small cup of soft serve classic vanilla. So. Good. This family owned business is a great lunch or dinner stop for treats or to pass time with friends.

We were seated with our wonderful server, Nina (I believe). She was friendly, chatty, and very knowledgeable about the menu and restaurant itself. It had a little heat, but it wasn't overwhelming. My dad unfortunately had a mix-up with his drink, but once we let Nina know, she happily made him the right one. It was also delicious! I was honestly surprised at how busy it was when we arrived at 4pm on a Thursday. I wasn't expecting that kind of crowd, but thankfully I had made a reservation, so we were able to get seated right away. As much as I would've loved to sit on the patio, it didn't look like anything was available, although if you can snag a patio table, I'd definitely recommend it. Inside was packed, with quite a few larger groups as well. Our table was right in the middle of the restaurant, so we had a good view of everything going on. It was loud, but in a fun, lively way. Our server was really friendly and quick. She checked in on us often and gave some helpful recommendations. We ordered drinks and a couple of apps to share, and she left us a full bottle of cold water, which was such a nice touch. We got the pretzel monkey bread, french fries (the best) and the artichoke bean dip. We weren't planning to stay for dinner, just wanted some snacks. The food came out fast and honestly looked too good to wait on. I loved the monkey bread, the pretzel bites had a great crisp to them, and the sauces they served with it were really good. The bean dip was good too, just not as much my thing since I'm not a big fan of dill, so I left most of that for everyone else. Once we wrapped up, we were able to split the check and head out pretty quickly. I really appreciate places that still make it easy to split checks, and even more when you can just pay right at the table with those handheld POS devices.
