I have been here before and come back because the menu, food quality and service are always good. I like "hot fish" which they have a nice variety of. I had the grilled Mediterranean salmon dinner with a salad and baked potato. They have a nice house made green goddess dressing that's very tasty. I had a couple of glasses of Pinot Grigio with my meal that was a nice touch. We also had the hot fudge lava Bundt cake w ice cream to split. It was tasty. The decor is fun.... This little gem in a strip mall has a country feel to it but delicious fresh cooked food. We had a burger and buffalo chicken sandwich and no complaints. Finally got to try this place for the first time, can't believe I didn't get the fish but as great as the steak was I'm coming back to try the fish! I had a steak sandwich with added garlic cheese bread, my to go service was on time and still warm. Very pleased with this dinner. The inside is a nice restaurant, very humble waiting and dinning area with nice decorations throughout. The parking lot is large, has no problems finding a spot close. Unfortunate because we had one good experience here a few weeks ago but tonight was terrible. When the sever came to clear our appetizer plates and asked if he could bring us anything else (after we had already ordered our entrees) I knew we were in trouble. So we told him that we had not had our food yet. He went to refill our drinks (and he took our cups away to fill and bring back which is lazy) then he told us that our ticket was next so our food would be up soon but I knew the truth. I knew he had totally forgotten to put in our entrees so I let my party know - we should assume our orders just went in. Sure enough, about 20 minutes later our food came out. Total time for entrees was about an hour. Dinner was 45 min after appetizer. Then the small portions and salad were shocking. The $15 Chicken Caesar comes with 3 small strips of grilled chicken over what is clearly lettuce, croutons, and parm from a bag kit from the grocery store that you would make at home and two small cups of dressing for you to apply yourself even though this is a ceaser salad at a seafood place. My son's burger was shockingly small and there were maybe 10 French fries on the plate. It was a decent burger and my wife's fish was decent too but her sides were also shockingly, almost humorously small portions. Strange place. I don't think we will be back. read more

Arrived for a late lunch and I sat at the bar. I asked the waitress what their best lunch item was and she recommended the walleyed platter. It was delicious. I received a large slice of fish. The waitress said they make their own breading and cook it fresh daily and the walleye was delicious. The walleye platter comes with two sides. I chose the green beans with potatoes and onions. I was looking for fresh fruit for my other side but the only fruit they had was applesauce so I chose the fries. The green beans were fresh and cooked just rice and seasoned well. The fries were a mixture of hot fresh fries and mildly warm fries. My waitress gave me excellent service. The inside of this restaurant reminded me of a hunting cabin and an older small town diner. I was just trying to have drinks and dinner, and had to listen to the guy from the kitchen who was clearly intoxicated yelling at my server and the bartender throughout the course of the evening about how other people are paid more than him. It was Friday night and there were 3 of us and we did not have a reservation and Lazy River Grill was our third and final stop. We got in and it was nice and cool in there! (One of our first stops needs an HVAC visit ASAP!) I used to live near here and I hadn't been in at least 14 years? It looks the same and the menu is the same but in a good way! My dinner dates ordered a salad, a Walleye special, and I got the Country Bacon & Bleu Burger with Fries. I was hungry and tired and I have to say this was great! I like a charbroiled burger and I love bacon and blue cheese. I requested the fries crispy and that's how I got them. I love the spreadable cheese and crackers they put on the table. I really like their food, especially the walleye platter. It is the best fish that I've ever eaten I used to love their coleslaw. However it seems the flavor is a bit different nowadays. First time at this place although Ive heard of it here and there over the years. Nothing fancy, quite rustic. Walleye was delightful, and fries were too. Only downer was this "flavorsmith" ketchup with the openable lid, which makes it POSSIBLE to refill the ketchup even if they don't use this disgusting mom and pop tactic. Lazy River is usually one of my favorite places! Food is amazing and usually service is on point. Came in for lunch on Tues and the service was not anything like I have experienced. Some guy (assuming the manager) took our drink order and eventually our food order as well. We had a server come eventually but she basically only came to bring the check. We go here often. The Walleye is tremendously tender. They have a Special on Sunday and Monday evening a Walleye Special. You get two sides for $16.99. They have other fish and seafood. Only have been to this business to get soup or wings for pick up. The inside is dark and cozy. They have an outside patio which looks nice to sit on. I have gotten the gumbo from here and was not super pleased. It had too much okra in it and it was a clear broth. Certainly want what you think of when you want gumbo. Decided to do local tonight and haven't been here in years. It was very crowded but we managed to get seated. Amanda dropped off the menus, told us the special, and went and got us our drinks. We were there to grab a bite and catch an NFL game. It wasn't too loud where we had to yell at each other. Amanda made sure I drinks arrived on time and waters were full. Our dishes came out rather quickly. I had the Tilapia sandwich and my better had the chicken club sandwich. Both looked good. The club sandwich turned out to be the better choice. My Tilapia really didn't taste anything more than ... well, nothing really. Out of curiosity I googled Tilapia and learned it was a generic term. I found out that cooks and I are thinking the same on this fish: "Chefs hate it because it doesn't taste like fish." Also, the slaw was rather bland. Found this restaurant through Yelp and found it to be pretty good. We were seated pretty quickly. The decor of the restaurant is definitely fishing and the overall restaurant was a bit dark. I had the shore dinner, which was a mild fish with a light, crispy coating, along with a salad and green beans. The salad was good, with fresh greens and a great house (green goddess) dressing which was very flavorful. The salad came with a small container of their cheese along with crackers. The cheese was so good, we bought some to bring home. Hubby had the chicken club which he said was a solid 4. All of the ingredients were good, the meal was hot and it came out in a timely manner. Waitress was friendly, but had a habit of looking away into the distance whenever I asked questions. She was pretty quick though and service was good. This a very nice restaurant but we did not have the best experience. We went on a Saturday around 3 the place was not busy. It took almost 15min for our appetizer to arrive which was spinach and artichoke. Food arrived literally 45min after we ordered. I understand people are short staffed but come on. As the restaurant became more busy the food started to arrive to the other tables faster than ours did. I'm sorry but waiting for wings, a burger and one more plate should not take 45min. read more

Ordered the walleye dinner. Was excellent, baked potato was fresh not pre-made. While we loved the deep fried walleye would love to have a grilled version available. This restaurant has been around for a long time, making quality meals year after year. You wouldn't know it looking at the outside, but it has a cozy cabin feel on the inside. The menu is wide, but if you like eating freshwater fish you need to get the walleye or the basa. These fish can be prepared a variety of ways, and I enjoyed the fried walleye on my most recent visit. We had a party of 9 so we made reservations which was a nice feature. We sat near the hostess station and overheard several people saying they had reservations as well. A good thing, because on the Saturday evening we were there the restaurant was pretty full. Everyone in our party enjoyed their meal and the kids even got ice cream at the end of their meals. A good time had by all. read more

First visit went off without a hitch. As did the second. It seems like a nice place, the food is good, the service is nice, the atmosphere is, also, nice. I'll not go into too much detail, you'll just have to try it yourself. I will say, though, that the walleye dinner is quite good. The portion is of a good size, the breading is not too heavy. The only downfall are the prices. This might just be one of the main reasons the Lazy River Grill won't be a regular hangout. read more
