I browsed around for a while to see if someone would eventually ask if I needed help, but no one did. There were two white women shopping in the store, and I noticed the employees were actively assisting them. I'm African American, and I was standing nearby browsing on my own. There was also another gentleman who was assisting one of the customers, and at no point did anyone step away for even a moment to acknowledge me or ask if I needed help. I understand employees may be helping other customers, but a simple "Hi, we'll be with you shortly" goes a long way. As a African American customer, being the only person in the store who wasn't acknowledged while white customers were being assisted made me uncomfortable and left me questioning why I was treated differently. I ultimately left without purchasing anything. Customer service and making every customer feel welcome matters, and unfortunately, I did not feel welcomed during my visit.

On this day, I bought a 18 inch fuel line and it was seven dollars which these days I thought was pretty reasonable. They do have a rewards program like everybody else service is always friendly. The inventory was a little "picked over," according to the owner, but I found quite a few things I wanted. The items are definitely on trend (lots of pretty tangerine-colored items this season!), but not fashion-victim-y, and although the store definitely caters to a younger crowd, I'm in my early 40s, and I found quite a few things I thought were appropriate for me. She also carries cute accessories. Everything is VERY reasonably priced, more expensive than Forever 21, but a lot less than Anthropologie. My cute top was $42, and the Yosi Samra flats I love are less than $70, I think. I can see this store doing very well with people who want to add a little something to their wardrobe with zing and verve, but don't want to spend scads of money on the latest fashion.
