We browsed with clear intent to purchase for nearly 20 minutes and were treated as though we were invisible. What we did receive was surveillance. An employee followed us at a distance the entire time -- not to help, but to watch. Then a regular customer walked in. The transformation was immediate. Multiple employees rushed to greet him, addressed him as "Doctor," asked about his weekend plans, and provided the attentive, personalized service that had apparently been unavailable to us moments earlier. For context: my husband is also a physician. The difference? They didn't know that. Luxury retail isn't about recognizing certain titles or catering to familiar faces. It's about consistency, professionalism, and making every customer feel welcome. What we witnessed was selective hospitality -- enthusiastic deference for the "right" person, suspicion and indifference for the rest. That isn't upscale. It's exclusionary. We won't be returning, and we'll gladly spend our money at Mr. Wicks who understands respect should not be conditional.

With a look that let me know we cannot ever do business again. I had plenty of cloth made by many good and hard-working tailors overseas and state side, but this is the norm for people of my culture to assume we do not have enough money or are thuggish too much to probably afford her cloths.
