$125 to hem five pair of pants & they took about a month. They did good. Just slow and expensive.. so do with that as you will.

*I'm a dude if that matters to anyone reading this* I came…read morein there yesterday and it was my first time ever having a shirt tailored. It was such an easy process. I like that you can see the people that will work on your item in the front when you walk in. The works seemed cheerful and happy as well which makes me feel that they are paid well. That makes me reassured that they will do a great job if I walk in somewhere and the staff seems content and happy. Over the phone I was quoted $25 to alter 1 button down shirt. I understand that is a rough estimate. Maybe less maybe more. Especially depending on when you read this review and go in to get measured and given a quote. I was given a 1 month lead time before they'd have it done. No worries by me. Them being busy made me feel that I made the right choice by going there if they're so booked out. I left my shirts there with them. And look forward to updating this review when I see them again at the end of Sept to see how it turned out and what my true cost will be. Great people though. I also like that some of them spoke Spanish. It was cool to listen to them chat and laugh while working. I met the owner of the place and she was super friendly too! She was the one that made the measurements and as busy as they are I never felt rushed by her. She was super friendly just like the rest of the people that work there.

Do not take anything to these people. We turned in a dress on a tuesday to get a slight alter.By…read moresaturday, it still was not ready.I called to get the dress. They wanted to charge me an extra twenty dollars for an early fee.And then they wound up, not even altering the dress, very unprofessional people.I live in conway. They had me take the dress to little rock location.Definitely not to my convenience. When I live in conway, they were not eager to help at all!! Turned in the dress on Tuesday needed the dress by noon, Saturday and they had not even touched the dress. When I called them at 10 AM on Saturday and then had the nerve to want an extra $20 for a rush. How is it a rush when they got the dress Tuesday? Make it make sense. I definitely do not.I repeat, do not recommend these people to anybody!!!!!

I posted this exact review on google and I felt like it should be posted here As well...ok here it…read moregoes... Attention Brides and Brides to be.... Who in the world gave this place 5 stars???!!!! . I made the mistake of bringing my wedding dress here for a hem, bustle, and for cups to be added to the dress...... I brought my dress in, tried it on and she pinned everything in place. In regards to the bustle, she told me she didnt know how to do it, and that I should just carry my train over my arm. I should of left then, but she quoted me a decent price for what she could do so I just decided to let her do it and take it somewhere else after. She told me it would take a month to do everything. A month later, (60 days before my wedding). She called me and told me that everything was ready. I told her that I would come the following Saturday and she told me her business hours are from 10-2. I came on Saturday but her door was locked. I called and no one picked up. I waited in my car outside her house from 11 to 1. I kept calling and knocking on her door the entire time. I do not live in Little Rock and Saturday is the only time I have to take care of this. Why in the world would the door be locked during business hours? No sign. No explanation of why the door was locked. It was just locked. At 1:30. I gave up. I decided to just leave a voicemail and come another day. As I left the voicemail, she interrupted and picked up the phone. Told me she was inside and to come in At this point I was pretty irritated but was relieved that I could come and get my dress today.... But guess what... I put the dress on, the cups were sewn in place, but the hem wasnt done....YEP... NOT DONE! She told me that it would take another month to do the hem and that it would cost more money than what she quoted me originally. She did a great job on the cups, but her timing ....AWFUL. I politely paid for the cups she sewn in and left. Oh and did I mention that it was pouring down raining the entire day....the icing on this crap cake Ladies..learn from my mistakes. I should of kept driving when I realized that this "business" is done out of her duplex. No ma'am. No thank you. Not with my Wedding Dress. Maybe some with slacks or a shirt, but that's it.

Just to warn you, Barbie's is one of those odd local businesses located in her very own home. If…read moreit weren't for looking up alteration places online, I would've never come across it. It's in the residential part of Beechwood, a little bit past up Kavanaugh. Going there, you oddly feel like you're going to visit a friend. Parking is a little weird; be sure not to park in the driveway because it's her neighbor's. Anyhow, to the point. Barbie is a sweet grandma who could easily be your own. She does a fantastic job altering gowns and has been praised for her work on weddings by local magazines. Barbie has 20 plus years of experiencing sewing clothes, so things will get done the right way. She's very attentive to the respected piece being worked on, but she doesn't come without a hefty price. Even simple alterations like hemming a pair of pants costs up to ten dollars. And that's just something simple. A friend of mine had a dress taken in and that wasn't cheap, either. A plus side is that she runs her own business, so you might be able to negotiate prices with her. It wouldn't hurt. Be careful when it comes to deadlines, though. Barbie isn't very good with finishing things in a timely manner, unless you give her a specific day you need something. If not, you might have to wait awhile before your pieces get finished. Think of her as your grandma who's great, but she might just sometimes forget about things. She'd be good for: complicated alterations weddings, expensive gowns I wouldn't recommend: simple alterations like hemming a pair of pants or getting a skirt or dress shortened.
