AE makes classic and Americana-inspired styles that look sharp and last a long time. For business and smart casual wear, you will find something here that suits you. Shoes here are of the sewn, not glued variety. They are wardrobe investments that can be rebuilt several times over their lifetime. They are not inexpensive - $300-400 a pair is a fair ballpark. However, they run good sales several times a year that take $50-100 off those numbers, and the product is a significant step up from average. In addition, there is a limited selection of menswear - jackets, shirts, belts, accessories, leather goods. Some of these are offered in partnership with other well known labels such as Schott and William Wilson. My experience with the store was excellent. I had ordered a pair of boots online, before I realized there was now a retail location in town. They arrived, and appeared to be a previous return that had been accidentally re-shipped - they had obvious flaws. While looking up the return process online, I found the shop on President St. So, I took my boots there for their advice. Anup, the manager of the store, provided some of the best customer service I've had in recent memory. He cheerfully handled the exchange, the return shipping, and placed the replacement order while I browsed the rest of the store. He even took the time to verify my measurements and suggested a slight size adjustment, which worked out perfectly. It was also obvious that he was very enthusiastic about his business and product. So if you're looking for your first pair of genuinely good shoes, I can highly recommend Allen Edmonds. They provide excellent service, quality goods, and a reasonable price.

For ordinary humans, the purpose of trying clothes on in store like this is to get the fit right. After getting fit right, the staff put in an internet order (you don't walk out with what you tried). However, the store's stock is not really the same in terms of colors and size of pants as what is online, so the staff had to engage in a lot of guesswork and estimate to help me figure out the size of what to order. Ultimately that all failed. Even when it seemed very much like we got sizes correct (ie length, waist) in the Bonobos store, what was sent to my house had *no resemblance in size* to what fit into the store. I have no idea how that could be. Should you request another pant be sent out that's 2 inches shorter? Well, no. At this time (May 2023), Bonobos has a stock/supply problem, so when a pant is available in 30 inches, it's often not available in 32 or 28 in that same color. Too bad for the customer. The price tag of Bonobos pants is high. Add to that the price of a professional tailor to compensate for the problems of the store, and it's higher. Staff are cool, but right now the stores are set up to fail and it's not the staff's fault. But Bonobos has kind of set them up to fail, and that's what happened for me.

They have sales on top of their outlet prices as well but just keep an eye on what they serial is actually on sale such as fleeces instead of the entire store being on additional sale. I came by for a yoga class on a Sunday morning (bring your own mat!). This was hosted by Andrea and attendance was about 15 people and was a very pleasant peaceful start to the morning! Totally up my alley. When the Goddess Varsity hit my timeline, I damn near passed out! I sent a DM with a picture of the piece and was sent a quick reply back with a price quote, sizing options and hours of operation. SO easy! Frazier is about his business! Placed my order for pick up (because I'm nosey. And I wanted to see the shop and see what other things I might lust over!) and I was done. Well, almost. SMH My pick up time was during the snow storms. So, a Monday was pushed back to a Wednesday. Wed to Friday. SIIIIGH then to a Monday. Frazier was super accommodating and professional about it all.
