What a fabulous find! We were on our way on the hwy headed south and saw the Ann River. Since my…read morename is Ann, we decided to make a u-turn and take a picture. Now facing north we saw the sign for the Ann River Winery. We stopped into the tasting room and found a happy crowd of folks there and a very friendly and helpful lady, who turned out to be the owner. It was "Cheesecake Sunday" so of course we had to try the cheesecake with our flights of wine. Very good cheesecake with the topping of our choice! They had a large selection of wines and we ended up buying a couple bottles as well as some merchandise. We had a very fun experience and loved hearing the story about origins of the winery. I highly recommend this winery!

My brother and I decided to hit up all the places listed on the East Central Craft Beverage Trail so we could take notes for places to recommend at our family VRBO up there. We both tend to favor gourmet foodies and foreign red wine; but also really enjoy most of the local breweries and distilleries popping up in MN. We opted for 2 flights of the 6 samples for $6.50 (nice price!!) and compared notes with each other. While we both tend to not really go for white wines, the winner for us ended up being none other than Painted Lady, which was very much a white wine. The wines were better than some of the MN wineries that I've had (keep in mind, I have been a foreign red wine only kind of gal for years- so that is a high bar to meet!). There were a few that were a bit too sweet/syrupy but over all, I was pleased with the tasting and would even consider ordering a few by the glass. Random tidbit- they allow you to snow shoe or cross country ski by the vineyard if you'd like!

We made a stop here for some wine and to enjoy the beauty on Sunday, and it was an amazing time. We…read morewere seated right away and our server was Jenna. We tried a few different flights of wine and flat breads and enjoyed the beautiful view of the vineyard. The place is truly breathtaking, and at the time, they had live music playing outside. Jenna made some very good recommendations and made sure we had everything we needed. ::Caution:: I still gave this place 5 stars because this has nothing to do with the service or the quality of the food or location, but we were picturing a nice, calm brunch, sipping on wine, not a Chuck E Cheese experience. Apparently, we were upgraded to the deluxe Chuck E Cheese package and were seated around lots of parents who decided to bring their young kids to a vineyard. The kids were running wild around tables and crying and screaming. Not one parent corrected their kids' behavior and just let them run around like free-range chickens. There were also people complaining that there were no non alcoholic drinks that they wanted at a vineyard. When I went inside there seemed to be no kids indoors. While another group could not control their kids and kept knocking things off the table, including glasses of wine. No one seemed to mind outdoors because most of the people had young kids, so be warned that this may be a possibility, so research your days before you go. Overall, if you remove the kids running wild and crying, the service was fantastic, the wine was good, lots of parking, the ambiance was incredible, and the food was good.

The atmosphere was cozy and charming, and it was the perfect spot to unwind with a great glass of wine. We're already looking forward to coming back during the winter months (as long as they're open!) because this place just has that special vibe that makes you want to return again and again.

One of two wineries that were visited on a day trip to Taylor's Falls…read moreThis place has a rustic setting but a cute outdoor area where dogs are welcome and they do have live music Food- they have pizzas on site and various wines Not to be unfair but I'm not really a fan of our local MN wines, very sweet for me but there is usually one I find that I can sip on here They also offer glamping tents in the vineyards those look super cute and more info can be found on their website Service has been fine- you go inside to order at the counter and take your wines to your seating area

When we arrived the signs were a bit confusing as to where to go, we ended up pulling up to the house at the top of a hill but were given instructions to drive around the building past the bathrooms. When we got there there were carts to help us load and tote our stuff up to the camp site. There were multiple paths up to our site which was nice. The first night we decided to eat at the winery. We ordered a pizza, got a bottle of the sweet red wine and they had board games we could play as we waited for the pizza to cook. They wood fire Heggies pizza. We got a chicken Alfredo one which was really good, we ended up getting a second one. They had $10 wine slushies. Cath the bartender put us on to mixing the flavors. Both were really good and began our fav/go to drink for the weekend. Also Cath had great customer service and was there all weekend which was nice! She was great. We stayed at site 3 and it was a decent size, had a smaller 2 person bench/table, fire pit and was very well shaded. When it rained we didn't get too flooded out which was nice. The rest of the experience was mostly on us to make, during the day we took a walk and explored the vineyard. They had a few grapes growing, they also have yurts you can rent which is nice if you want to go full glamp. They were spacious and kind of had their own areas which in the vineyard. I will say there was a larger staying down by the yurts and we could hear them most of the night up in the woods where we were. Also live music at the tasting room/courtyard on Saturdays. They started around 12:30pm and went late into the evening. We could hear the music from our campsite which was nice. It rained that night so it started outside then they moved the music inside. Something to do though. They do have a coffee room that is open 24hrs which is nice. They sell snacks and stuff in there as well. Generally it was a good first experience/intro to camping despite it being a cold, rainy, summer weekend but I'd do it again.

The vineyard landscape is BEAUTIFUL and makes for the perfect relaxing night or afternoon. The refreshing white wine pictured was delicious and perfect for a warm day outside. The flatbread was exactly what you'd expect for a light winery snack, but super reasonably priced which I appreciate! Definitely bring a DD so you can take advantage of their awesome bottle pricing instead of just ordering by the glass! Their social media is also worth checking out because they host so many fun events like yoga, concerts, private events, and more. Such a peaceful atmosphere with great vibes all around. I went on a Sunday around 1pm and it was very chill with plenty of seating options under a pergola, picnic tables by the vines, etc. lots of different choices as well as inside by the bar. There are 2 bars on property, 1 inside and 1 by the events center. I'm assuming you can rent the place out for weddings and currently they are under construction in the parking lot. I ordered a caprese salad with chicken. It was just okay. It came in a chipotle "like" bowl and the chicken was minced. The menu said thick slices of heirloom tomatoes but they ended up being cherry tomatoes and the mozzarella was light on the portion. More salad than anything else and was drizzled with balsamic. I don't think it was worth $19 but if I'm paying for convenience, I get it. Just let your customers know that it's cherry tomatoes and not heirloom tomatoes when they are ordering. This is how the menu item reads: Thick slices of heirloom tomatoes, fresh basil, and torn mozzarella on top of greens, dressed with balsamic glaze. I opted for a non alcoholic beverage - root beer which was delightful but next time I'm getting the rose. The staff is friendly and helpful. Will definitely be back to order something different on the food menu.

We stopped in on a Saturday afternoon for wine tasting…read more First, the venue is beautiful with a nice spacious area for dining, a large bar for wine tasting and a large outdoor patio with views of the vineyard. In the main dining area, there is a stage for bands. We walked up to the bar which was full but found a spot to squeeze in. The wine tasting area had several wine servers behind the bar. We waited for quite some time before a wine server greeted us and asked us what we were interested in tasting. We asked what was offered as far as wine tastings as it appeared there were a couple of different wine tasting events taking place. She looked at us with confusion and asked what we were interested in tasting. We read about the cheese and wine pairing so we said we would do that. We asked about each of the wines and she put the wine & cheese sign with descriptions in front of us and asked what we wanted to do. She couldn't really explain the wine herself. Again, confused why she is asking that since it's 5 wines with a 5 cheese pairing, We said we will just go down the list. She brought us complimentary wine glasses and poured the first wine. She also handed us cheese on toothpicks we all had to figure out how to grab from her fingers. Perhaps a plate or napkin? We waited for about 15 minutes before she came back and she looked at us and said no one is helping you? We thought she would but I guess not. We proceeded down the list, jumbling the cheese on toothpicks, and waited for the next tasting but we were forgotten once again. It took a while but we made it through the tasting. I'm a red wine person but the red wines were sour in my opinion. I realize this is WI and not CA or France so obviously the wine is different. We did buy a couple of bottles of their Pony which is a Rose as well as the ale Crescent. We wanted to purchase a couple of the different cheese that we tasted but they didn't have any to purchase. The venue is beautiful and a great place for events. The wine servers definitely need training in how to service guests and learn about the wine. Also, no one wants to eat out of someone's hands. At least provide napkins they can hand the food to the wine taster with a napkin. .
