JB Alberto Deluxe Thin Crust Pizza
    Shih C.

Family ordered JB's for a relaxing Friday night dinner. We had a thin crust and Friday perch dinner special. I enjoyed the fried perch. It was seasoned well and delicious. The pizza was as well. The person who took my order was friendly and kind. Our dinner was delivered on time as promised.

I'm not sure how I stumbled across this place, but I had them bookmarked and then they'd recently got a good amount of social media buzz going on so I decided to drop by. They're an hour away from my home so that's another reason why it took me awhile to get up this way. Monday night about 830/9pm I stopped by not realizing they were take out only. Bummer! Anywho, I ordered a small sausage/pepperoni well done, and extra sauce. (Asked for dark cheese) We also ordered a small deep dish sausage well done pizza. The guy tells us 45mins to prepare the deep dish. Ok, fine. So we leave and return at 10pm. We open the pizza in the car and the cheese is NOT well done. They loss 2 stars right there. Its a simple request/instruction. Smh. The 2 pies were fresh/hot, but they weren't anything to write home about. Someone said Domino's was better. Ehhh, I wouldn't drive back, and if I was in the area I wouldn't want it. 1 and done for us.

The past few orders I placed have been disappointing. I ordered a half pound burger but barely got a quarter pound. It was dry and not at all like the burgers I ordered in the past. So far I've never been disappointed with my orders (lasagna, mostaccioli, barbecue beef sandwiches). I don't know if they have a new chef and this is what to expect

Today I was tired for work so I decided to order from my favorite restaurant I thought was my favorite and then my order came dried out chicken burnt bread disgusting this is not what I expect out of this restaurant especially since I've ordered for them multiple times for pizzas and then they sent me this unacceptable. I'm not happy with them. Totally disgusted about what they sent to me since I've always order them and expect it so much more I guess I'll be looking for a new place because this is not acceptable

Still a great place for local delivery! No need for door dash or uber eats! The best specials!

Pizza and italian beef are amazing! Thin crust is rated # l in the USA! Their italian beef is amazing! Carryout only.

Okay, I haven't tried the pizza yet, I've only eaten the Italian Beef with melted provolone cheese which is pretty darn good. I come here because they're open late. The last time I went the line was out the door of this delivery/take out only spot. I was greeted by a couple of nice ladies behind the counter. I ordered the Italian Beef with provolone and a couple of au jus on the side. Since I had to travel with it, I don't won't an overly soggy sandwich. I forgot to get hot giardiniera but luckily I had some at home. I got home and it was still nice and warm. I added the au jus and dipped my sandwich. The meat was tender and flavorful. The fries were hand cut and cooked well, fluffy and well salted.

    Fries were extremely thick

Easily top five best pizzas Chicago. Sort of expensive but you will be fully satisfied given the size of the slices or bigger pizzas. Great balance of flavor yet nothing is overpowering. Pizzas seem to be made to order & were piping hot. I wish they were closer to downtown though. Took me damn near a half hour to get here & damn near an hour to get home with a 20 min prep time in between. Menu was extensive to say the least, burgers, shrimp, pasta, wings. I'll definitely return but I'd honestly need to be way up north to do so.

    Pizza slices.

My fiancé and I came in for a slice and it was cold and stale. The cheese didn't have any kind of pull and was coagulated.

Ordered rib dinner. Meat was dry, had a stale flavor, just old. Fried mushrooms were rubbery.

The restaurant is not busy at all. We were seated right away. Our server was nice and attentive. We ordered pizza and pasta. Pepperoni and Whipped Ricotta Pizza - cooked perfectly, fresh ingredients and delicious! Served hot! Short Rib Pappardelle - to die for! This is very tasty, the pasta is cooked al dente. The short rib sauce is ssosooo delicious! We sat by the bar overlooking the open kitchen. It was nice to see the chef make the pizza and make the pasta. Normally I hate those kinds of large group dinners, but this was the perfect spot for it. The service was absolutely wonderful. I don't know how our server stayed so cool and calm with a group that size. We got a variety of things. EVERYTHING was amazing. If you have seen any of my other reviews, I always get a meatball when I'm at a place that has them. They almost never live up to my expectation. But this place has the new gold standard for a meatball. It was everything you want. It is fork tender, full of flavor, no chewy ground up bits. The pizzas were authentic and thin. With fabulous house made red sauce that wasn't too thick and overwhelming. The flavor was A+ The cocktails were so good! All made from scratch with love. The ambiance was cozy and comfortable. Perfect for a group or a date. They have a full bar, and also great seating with perfect lighting. This is a new favorite for me in the city.

Boneless Chicken Vesavio, 4/5: My only complaint it the butt ends of the chicken was dry and tough. Otherwise, the sauce is very good, it's savory almost like porridge. The peas surprisingly added nice flavor to it. Wish all the potatoes were crispy tho! Burrata Lasagna, 3.9/5: Good but wouldn't get it again. TBD tastes similar to frozen lasagna. The bar was full when we arrived, but the host told us that spots at the bar open up rather quickly. This proved to be true, so I am so glad we waited for a few minutes. However, I wouldn't recommend this happy hour for a group of more than 2 because offerings are available at the bar only, and I suspect it would be hard to get four seats together.
