I later spoke with Al at their office and went over plans and my options and he was very forthcoming with information and very professional. Our tech was also very kind, respectful of our property and knowledgeable. The installation was quick and clean, and the tech was patient with me while i checked to ensure all our devices were working. We did loose internet recently, but the next day I called for some help, my call was answered quickly by Janet....I believe. She was professional and have clear instructions on what to do( we also messed with the router and made things a little worse) but she identified the issue (power outage at the tower) we rebooted the router signal from the tower to the router and everything was fixed. I apparently had a SSD card go bad I was told at first it was a mechanical drive, I told them to go ahead and replace the bad card, I had three of them after all. When they got back to me later it was confirmed the SSD card went bad which was really bad because that card had the windows operating system on it. It was implied that all of my disk drives were bad and needed to be replaced I told them to do what was necessary. The SSD was replaced and they pulled both of my hard drives and added another SSD for no apparent reason because my mechanical drives were just fine, worse they were going to dispose of them without transferring my files!! I could have lost years of files for NO reason. I made them give me my drives (thankfully) because they saved nothing that was on my computer. When I got home and realized how bad it was (and still is windows 11 sucks) I reinstalled both drives yanked one of their replacements. Since then I have wasted 10 hours trying to restore my computer and my files. NOT happy!! I know from past experience that it will take 2 months to find and fix all of the bugs and have all of my files running again. Why in the Hell were my functional drive pulled and not synced up with the new SSD drive? I am frustrated and dreading the hours more work that lays ahead.

It's been since 2004 when I built my last computer from scratch. So, I thought I'd do a quick RAM…read moreswap on two PC towers that were the same brand and close to the same model. That's where I went wrong, but where Mike at CDA Computer Repairs did right. These two towers are our primary systems. One has ALL of our pictures, that's over 20 years of memories. All of our kids pictures. Everything. So, it's imperative we get them running. Mike knew just what to do and jumped all over it. He had them done by the end of the day and was in contact with me for everything. He charges a very, very, competitive shop rate of $65 an hour, and even charges by the half hour which is something I've never seen a shop do. It's really great customer service! Something I admire, and is a "good to know" about how he runs his business, he is out of the door at closing. That's it. All calls go to voicemail and texts get read in the morning. Home is home and business is business. I admire that, a lot. Additionally, he takes recyclables. I dropped off an old Dell, and a network switch I had from my shop, and he took them in to refurbish. I'd rather see them go to his bottom line than see them in a land fill.

I went in to FedEx overnight a 3.6 lb box. It's the same size I've been sending at other locations…read moremultiple times this year. The most I've ever paid was $210 for Saturday delivery. Upscale mail quoted me $340 to arrive by 4:30, $360 to arrive by noon. I was shocked and questioned it, but was told all costs everywhere had gone up. There also isn't a way to put in my FedEx account number anymore, it's all under their own. I paid the ungodly amount and later looked up the cost on the FedEx site using the same info from my receipt and the cost was $206 to arrive by 8 am, $155 to arrive later. I called back to ask them to double check the rate and was told it was correct. I asked why in the world the markup was double and was told that only the owner has access to what the rates are so he couldn't answer. He was not rude in any way, so I do not fault the employee, but the store itself is an absolute rip off. I send these packages multiple times each year and usually drive to the valley. I decided to drive to this place which was slightly closer and it's a small business, so thought I'd support them. I'm fine with a markup and making a profit but this was an absolute rip off and I told them I'd never come back. If you don't mind shelling out a ridiculous amount of money for something you can go elsewhere for less, cool. This is your place. However I will never set foot in there again.
