The testing and installation took some time, but is was winter. Installation went well and I was happy with the result. They had a router I could purchase and they would set up (not included). The router quit working 2 months later. They told me to contact the company (Ubiquiti--Aircube). The troubleshoot community had similar issues with no resolutions. Trying to contact support, the product is no longer listed. Calling Intermax again, they refused to take back the faulty router. DO NOT buy a router through this company. Buy a router through a company that stands behind their sales. Update: a couple of weeks later Intermax apologized and offered a free replacement. They are working to fix this issue. I am happy with their service and their customer service follow up. read more

I can't reach anyone on the phone (stupid AI interface [WHY?] and waiting 30 minutes on hold without speaking to anyone yet?) I give up....So, they were the only ones who could give us semi-decent service 4 years ago, never really reliable running 5G from a cell tower was intermittent, NEVER a great value either, they kept promising fiber. WELL, Ziply came in with 5GB FIBER fiber optic cable about two years ago and we relegated Intermax to $$$$ backup. Now, I can't even reach them to talk about service or billing. Don't bother trying to call them to reach customer service. I'm going to send them an email to cancel service I guess. read more

Be sure you carefully read their " contract" after we did it was a firm no for us. They have all the rights.. you.. not so much. I'll wait for Ziply fiber optics or get Starlink. . I will say the phone people are very nice but not able to answer questions when challenged. But worth the low price once you know the whole story. read more

Service was great UNTIL I CANCELLED IT! Intermax stole $104.61 from me! They charged me $69 for an entire month of internet service and I had cancelled it in March 19, 2025 & they failed to refund any of my money. Then they falsely claimed I owed ANOTHER $35.61. Intermax took the $35.61 out of my bank account WITHOUT MY AUTHORIZATION! Plus they lied on my billing ledger stating they sent me a refund of $33 & some change from March 25, 2025 and THAT'S A LIE! WORST INTERNET COMPANY IN KOOTENAI COUNTY, IDAHO! read more

Until I cancelled my service I was happy, but then they charged me for an extra month of service and claimed that they had a 30 cancellation policy which I had never seen or signed. So I got hosed for $90.00 for a month of service I did not receive, will never use them again! read more

Since we live remotely we have limited options for internet. Intermax seemed like the best choice. I ordered the fastest plan they offered via microwave. We've now been with them for like 3 years. If you use it during off hours it works decent for watching Netflix, Hulu, etc. however in the evening from 7am -9:30pm it pretty much doesn't work at all. Once in a while it works ok for Netflix (at low resolutions). I wouldn't recommend these guys unless you do t have any other choice or you are just using it during the day time. read more

There have been a couple of times that I had to change the due date and payment method and this was done without any hesitation. I love doing business with a local company and plan to stay with Intermax no matter what "great deal" some other big corporation offers me. I live in a remote area and Intermax is the best of a list of really bad options. That's not saying much. If I had a choice, i'd jump on it. We've been customers for nearly a decade. They routinely throttle our bandwidth. They claim they don't but, gradually over time our bandwidth will degrade. We got down to .5 Mbps recently. It was not a time of day issue, .5 Mbps any time of day. That's unusable. Called 'service' and they claimed it was a tree on my property that had grown up and blocked the antenna. They diagnosed this over the phone! We have no trees on that side of the house. They scheduled service TWO WEEKS OUT and promised to bill us to re-position our antenna. On the day of service our speed returned. Just like magic. How? someone at Intermax turned our bandwidth back up to the 4Mbps that we pay for. Next year, we'll play this stupid game again. If you have another choice, take it. read more

We lost our Intermax internet service and called Intermax twice. Both times they told us it was not a problem with their service. I spent several hours with several other service representatives going through other reasons for our lack of service and all these people thought it was a internet service provider issue. I called Intermax a 3rd time and they agreed to come out but told me I'd be charged if I was wrong. They could not come out for several days. When they finally arrived they realized it was a problem with their installation and repaired it. I asked for a rebate on the loss of internet access (approx. $2.50/day) and I was told they don't warranty their equipment or installations and don't rebate for their problems. I explained that, therefore, if the customer is wrong the customer pays and if Intermax is wrong the customer pays anyway and that this didn't seem to be a fair and equitable business model. I called the office and was told they would review the situation and get back to me the next day but 4 business days later I'm still waiting for a response. Not exactly a fairminded, customer oriented business as far as I can tell. read more
