I parked near their walkway sign and once I ventured through, it's such a lovely walk up to the restaurant with a bridge over water with fountains and tons of blooms everywhere. Once inside, I was met with a bright, crisp dining room that was clean and comfortable. We started with cocktails and I got their version of a Manhattan, the hog-hattan. It's made with Whistlepig 6 year and came out on the rocks. Manhattans not served up are kinda a pet peeve of mine--but this one? Truly and honestly one of the best Manhattans of my life. The server did not steer me wrong. It was exquisite. For my dinner, my dining companion and I opted for a deal they had that allowed you a starter and main for a reasonable price. I got the kale salad for my starter which was bursting with flavor--chopped kale, brussels sprouts, butternut squash, chevre, and a bright citrus-y vinaigrette--what's not to love? For my main, I got their Mahi Mahi which was also perfectly executed. It was served over a bed of rice and asparagus with chopped mango and a sauce (not sure what kind but balanced the dish perfectly) on top. I would have a hard time not ordering this dish again. It was craveable. Our server was lovely and provided wonderful recommendations for both myself and my dining companion. No notes! Get to it!

I read it was a little tricky to find, because it sits in the middle of a little resort. It's a great walk over a little bridge that crosses over a pond. It resembles a seaside restaurant with lots of seating inside and outside. I sat at the bar and was enthusiastically greeted by the bartender. I asked for her recommendations and I went with the hogfish sandwich. Luckily, she told me I could get it grilled and blackened instead of fried. I could tell they knew how to cook fish because it came out perfectly. Most would probably think it was undercooked, but that's how fish should be cooked. I appreciated this attention to detail and thought it was delicious.

We left with what appears to be numerous sand flea bites covering our feet, legs, and arms. I personally have well over 100 bites, and the discomfort has continued to make the past several days of our vacation miserable. We were actively slapping and killing the fleas while sitting at the restaurant, and other guests around us were also commenting on them. I understand that I'm visiting from out of town and may not have known what to expect from dining directly on the sand. However, I have a serious concern with Turtle Club actively promoting the experience of "digging your feet in the sand" without clearly warning guests about the potential for sand fleas or explaining whether the area is regularly treated or maintained to prevent this issue. Is this something Turtle Club routinely experiences? Are the outdoor dining areas treated for insects? If this is a known issue, guests deserve to be made aware before choosing to dine outside. Unfortunately, as much as we enjoyed the food and sunset, the outdoor dining experience was simply not worth the consequences we've dealt with afterward. For future guests: bring bug spray and be prepared, or consider sitting inside. I wish we had known before choosing the outdoor experience. Turtle Club, I hope you take this feedback seriously and consider doing more to protect and properly inform your guests.

I did not initially see any crab but when I used the camera light in my phone I spotted a few white slivers of crab. Less than 1/2 ounce in total. The garlic bread was solid. Thought about sending my meal back it but it was either both dishes or neither and we decided to just let it go. I think sticking with the standard menu options is the way to go. We will still return though!

Absolutely fantastic dining experience at J. Alexander's! On my first visit, I ordered the steak special, which came out a bit undercooked. However, the staff promptly took it back and prepared a new steak that was perfect. Since then, I've dined at the bar a few more times, and the food has been consistently good. It was baked, topped with a Parmesan crust, incredibly tender, and full of flavor. In his book, it was a 10/10. I'm currently pregnant and was craving steak, so I ordered the ribeye well done (normally I prefer medium rare) with mashed potatoes. The mashed potatoes were delicious, but unfortunately my steak wasn't cooked to the requested temperature and had to be sent back. Earlier in the meal, Executive Chef Kevin had stopped by our table to introduce himself and welcome us. When I mentioned the issue to Candice, she immediately took care of it, and Chef Kevin personally returned with an apology. I appreciated the effort and excellent customer service. While the steak still wasn't quite what I was hoping for, it didn't take away from the overall experience. To finish the meal, I asked Candice to surprise me with dessert, and she did not disappoint! The German Chocolate Upside-Down Cake is a must-try. The warm chocolate cake was absolutely delicious and the perfect ending to our celebration. Overall, I would definitely return, although I'd probably try a different entrée next time. The caesar was on point and honestly the best dish of the afternoon. The Oysters Rockefeller was cold instead of piping hot and bubbling as one would expect. As entrees we had the Fish and Chips and the BLT, both were good although not outstanding. Ambiance is very nice with a Chihuly lamp in the entrance way and elevated tavern feel. Cheers!

The crabcake was very fishy tasting, and the Caesar salad had sardines on it (usually you're asked if you want them). Yuck. We had 3 drinks between us and the bill came to $80+ with tip. Thought that was a bit pricey as we were there for under an hour and it was HH. Maybe we will try the ones in Naples, with the hopes that the crowd will be younger, too. Much older crowd and feel at this location.

As most of our dining experiences over the last 12 years in Naples, Russell was also very personable, very professional and it was great talking with him in between trips to the table. The inside had large perimeter booths to accommodate larger party sizes and very comfortable tables and chairs for 2-4 guests. I loved the lighting features and moody finished throughout. We started with the Margarita Flatbread appetizer we got free for signing up for their rewards program. It was the perfect size to share and tasted very fresh. We also couldn't pass up trying The Breadwinner cocktail which was their sweeter old fashioned. For entrees, we each got the Smash Burger as its on special for $10 on Wednesdays (for rewards members)! The burgers were thicker than I was expecting but everything tasted so fresh. I really enjoyed their Special Sauce to go with it and fries were nice and crispy. This is a great option for elevated American food and the menu offers something for everyone! Tip: Sign up for their rewards program before visiting to get a free appetizer to enjoy!

The dinner comes with soup or salad with inexpensive prices. The cup of pasta e fadioli was excellent.
