So I went to a different place. but this week I decided to give it another shot. while I feel like the massage that the gentleman gave me was good, everything else was just very mediocre. I've been to Ivy's several times and typically don't have any issues, but the last couple of experiences have left me disappointed. Last time I went (a couple months ago), I went as a walk-in and asked for a regular polish basic pedicure. I was appreciative that they fit me in without an appointment given how busy it was, but what I thought was going to be a quick stop ended up taking almost an hour and a half. The lady I had (not sure what her name is) made several comments trying to convince me to upgrade to gel, which is expected, but it felt borderline condescending? To top it off, after she seemingly finished but before doing a top coat, she told me to wait and that she would be back. The nail tech working next to me soon came over to do my top coat and left, not saying a word the entire time. After waiting about 20 more minutes in case the original lady was actually coming back, I had to flag down the girl at the front desk to ask if I could go. My original lady was in the middle of giving someone else a manicure and yelled that yes, I could go. I understand they're wanting to be efficient, but I would've appreciated some notification, or don't tell me you'll be back and then never actually come. I also happened to be in a rush that day, so it bothered me more than it probably should have. Overall however the pedicure job itself was good and I was happy with my nails. My most recent visit I went for a gel pedicure and ended up getting the woman who had silently done my top coat at my prior visit. Unfortunately, she did a pretty shoddy cut of my nails (didn't round out or file the edges), and cut so close that later that day my nail ended up separating a little from my toe. She also ended up hitting my cuticle with the drill file and made me bleed. I was scared when she started trimming off my cuticles, and sure enough I ended up wincing several times. Needless to say, I was walking around in pain for the next two days. The paint job itself was a little disappointing. My cut was crooked on some toes and she had painted a little too close to the cuticles, and I honestly wondered if I could've done a better job myself. And when she finished up and left, she had spilled water on my shoes and I had to go walk barefoot to the sink to dry them off with paper towels. Overall vibe is casual, clean. The owner is super friendly and in the past has done a really good job making sure his customers are satisfied. I think my last two experiences were just unusually bad. This location is super close to my house and is so convenient, I'm sure I'll be back, but I need to start asking for names so I can request (or ask to avoid) certain nail techs. I would give them 5 stars for my prior experiences, but my last couple visits lowers it to 3 overall. read more

I've been coming here regularly for years for pedicures and nails, even through the pandemic (though not as often). My experience has almost always been good despite there always being a 20-30 minute wait past the time of my appt. time. I'm not sure why they continue to overbook. At my most recent visit, my appt was at 4pm, I got there 10 minutes early to give myself enough time to find a color for my pedicure. Due to overbooking I was not started until after 4:30. On top of this... my appt was suppose to be with a girl Michelle and instead they put me with Alex and said sorry they'd already assigned Michelle to someone else despite my appt being booked with her. The pedicure was rushed and I even upgraded to one of the higher packages. I had to keep giving Alex feedback during the whole service. I tried to tell him several times that he was shaping my nails wrong and cutting off too much. He even made me bleed. Normally I would not have had to critique the nail tech. The paraffin was put on and then almost immediately removed which is odd (as it usually is left on for a bit) and feels like I wasted an extra $5. Nail shaping and smoothing could use some improvement and my toe nails looked butchered and not at all the shape I requested. The paint job was rushed and sloppy. (I don't get to leave my daughter with my husband and relax very often, so this experience was honestly quite disappointing)...Then a couple minutes later the girl in the yellow came along thank god and was going to do the clear coat and asked if she could remove the polish and redo it. Then while she did that she re-filed and fixed them the best she could and did an awesome paint job. I asked her name and she told me it was Michelle. (Imagine my surprise as this is who my appt was suppose to be with in the first place) I've been coming here for 8 years and never had a bad experience. I was very disappointed. If I ever come back I will be making sure I get the Michelle. I'm super annoyed and upset because it was suppose to be relaxing and enjoyable instead I had to keep critiquing Alex the whole time and be on high alert. Seriously thankful for Michelle for coming along or I would have been even more upset. Even after leaving feedback directly to the owners via a feedback link sent to my phone during my appt, I never heard back from them. I have not been back and will not be back. Everyone stay far far away from this place. It's sad to say but it's gone way down hill since it changed Managment and ownership in the last year or so. I have gone to two of their places. The KW Nail & Spa, which is called Ivy Nails as well, and they have another location in American Fork. It is located right by Hobby Lobby, actually if I am not mistaking they have another one in Draper, UT. The one by Smith's Food and Drug is the one called KW Nails & Spa. They have a couple of very talented guys that work there but they charge so much more than anyone else. Besides that, as I would do my nails with one of them he would rush so much doing my nails that he wouldn't do them well enough to seal the acrilic in place. I would have to go to do my nails so often. He told me that I should do dipping powder instead to prevent lifting. Because the problem was with me and not with the way he was doing my nails. So I had to pay him to remove what I had on, and pay to put a new set on. After roughly two weeks when I went back to do my nails again he said, no more dipping powder, it was not choice, we need to go back to acrylic nails. So here we go again, paying him to remove the dipping set, and paying him for a brand new set. He had double booked me, he was in such a hurry to do my nail and someone else's, that as he was removing what he put in my mail before, that in one of my finger nails he damaged my nail bed. It hurt so much! I saw stars! Besides that I end up with green under a few of my nails. After that I went to the other Ivy nail, the one in AF. There I tried a couple different people. One lady that did a good job was transferred to a different store. Once I had an appt and I called them and I told them that I was delayed 10 to 15 minutes. When I got there the person that was going to do my nails with, was clearly working on someone else's nails for a long time. They tried to convince me that he was waiting for me, but there wasn't a chance that he was waiting for me, once they even said that the person they were working on kept changing their minds and having them change what they were doing. And when they were paying they complained about the price and had to have this major discount because they weren't going to pay as much they were charging. (By the way, they didn't do my nails) The owner works at the AF store, and she did my nails once. The whole entire time she was doing my nail she was on a video call with someone speaking her native language. Needless to say that she took forever to do my nails. She didn't even ask me what shape I wanted my nails like, she shaped my nails like hers. When I had an appt and they had assigned me to have my nails done with her, she wasn't in the store, so someone called her and she cancelled on me. She didn't want come to do my nails because they took too long to get done. They wanted to schedule me to a different day like a Monday, and I am pretty sure we were on a Friday. I just said, thank you and never went back. When I found a different place to do my nails, I met someone that used to work with them. The main reason they decided to move on, is because for the owners, making money is their main goal, and you can tell! read more

Not really they are very expensive and they need to stop rushing so much doing a set of nails and learn to do more quality. And if someone makes an appointment, then they expect to get in at the exact time they made their appointment for if you don't wanna do appointments then just say we only accept walk-ins but appointments should be upheld if somebody is coming in at 12 noon then they expect to be sitting in that chair at 12 noon Not wait 15 minutes for the nail tech to be done. They need to do better time management so no I would not recommend going to Ivy's nails and spa. It is not a spa and the nails are doing. They're rushing you through like you're a manufacturer and they have a quote at a meet or something. You're a human being and you should be treated like a human if you're paying for these nails then they need to take the time and do good quality work for those nails or don't expect us to pay for our nails we have to be able to like them and love them and we expect you to take your time on them. So this place was awful. My pedicure was terrible, and when I talked to the manager about it, she yelled at me. I came here on a recommendation from my aunt. My mom, my sister, and I all got the deluxe pedicure. The other technicians started on their pedicures at the same time, but mine started about five minutes later. I am now sitting here with them--their pedicures are still going, but mine has been finished for 10 minutes. I got a deluxe pedicure and the entire thing, from start to finish, was less than 25 minutes. The other two took 45 minutes--much longer massage, more careful cutting of nails, all of it. The kicker--my nail color is sloppy, and she didn't even wash all of the mask off my legs. I'm walking out of here in worse shape than when I came in. I won't be back. ETA: when I went to pay, they fought with me about how much to pay and told me it was my fault -- that my nails were just really easy, so that's why it went so fast. They also told me that I was lying about how long mine lasted, so ‍. This was literally the worst, most stressful pedicure experience I've ever had. read more

I came in last Saturday, after googling closest nail salon. I brought my two daughters, and myself. We came around 10 AM. This place was JUMPING! Every pedi chair was taken and some mani tables. I was greeted by a lady who asked me if I had an appointment. Which I didn't. We discussed making one, and we booked an appointment for us 3 at 12:30. I had said I wanted mani/pedis for all of us. Somewhere in the confusion, when she quoted me 30 mins. I figured it was for one service. We ended up going shopping and came back as 12:15 and they told us that we would wait. So we went across the parking lot had lunch and came back. At 12:32. We waited till one to take us back. They were super busy. They forgot about my youngest daughter. But squeezed her in, and offer her gel for $15. But they just gave her gel polish. Nothing else. My older daughter they kept moving her from table to table. The lady who did mine was quick and efficient. Nothing spectacular. She was in deep conversation in a hush tone, in another language. I just watched fixer upper while she worked cause she wasn't paying attention to me. We left at 1:50. I paid them cash. $25 each for two gel manis and $15 for a gel polish for under 12. Side note. While it doesn't bother me, if your going for a relaxing atmosphere, they are super busy, kids walking back and forth, and 2 tvs going. read more

Okay first of all, I came here because all of the nail salons in Salt Lake City county is unfortunately closed due to the pandemic. I wish I read the reviews before making the 30 minute drive to this awful salon. Girl, let me tell you! The customer service....NONE! My nail technician, Kim, was alright. I'm talkative so I get that people aren't as sociable as me and there's probably a language barrier, so I get it....no complaints there. My main complaint is that I felt like she rushed through my manicure and pedicure. My toe nails, she cut them way too short! Another thing, I got my eyebrows waxed and the wax was too hot! She burned my eyelid!!!! I was a little upset but too kind to show my frustration. As I was waiting for my friend to finish her nails, there was this elderly woman who needed help with the ATM in there. (They only accept cash and checks. Lowkey dumb but it's whatever I guess) THERE WAS A FULL STAFF THERE WHO DID NOT EVEN BUDGE TO HELP THIS WOMAN! So I took the initiative to help this woman who was struggling to use the ATM because she didn't speak English and she kept getting an error receipt. Like no one in the staff even came to help her. I was like dang, they really don't want to get paid huh? Lol but anyways, I helped her. If you were there on 4/25/2020 around 9:30am-10:30am, then you saw me help this woman when the damn staff members just stared. Anyways.....please don't be desperate like me during this pandemic and drive to Lehi from SLC. Save your time, gas, AND money! Even though, I still left Kim a tip. Great nail salon. Just had my first pedicure here. They promptly brought me back and got started. They place a liner in the whirlpool which helps somewhat with the sanitation. Use bagged tools and new products to clean your feet. I had the classic pedicure $30 and it comes with the paraffin wax treatment. Which I liked that they poured the wax in the bag instead of dipping your feet into the wax. The 2 girls that painted my toes did a great job. I did gel polish which was $14 extra and a design $5 extra and French tip $5 more. Overall I would go back but I wished they would have spent more time scrubbing my heels. Listen to me, I've gotten my nails done for quite some time now and have bounced around from place to place- so I know quality nails when I see it. I've been coming to KW Nails for about a year now and Hong has always done my nails soo well! I don't let anyone else do them but him! He makes them exactly how I want them and better! I usually get coffin shaped nails and lots of length and every time I leave, my nails are always perfectly shaped and very well painted/ manicured.. KW is lucky to have a nail tech like him!! I have also heard great things about Lynn and Ivy but have never scheduled with them before. Seriously, your nails will be pricey no matter where you go, but at least get more bang for your buck with Hong at KW. This is my new set from today. read more

I had reservations for seven pedicures. When we walked in there was only three chairs available. Half of our party had to wait 20 minutes. What's the point of an appointment you may ask? NOTHING! I pointed out to the lady giving me a pedicure the level of service I wanted. She disregarded what I asked for and did the most expensive one on the list. I asked her several times if this is the one I had asked for and she kept saying yes. At the end she said it would be $50. What poor service! My mom and I had an appointment for mani pedis that had been booked for over two days and we only received pedicures. They completely forgot about our manicures and asked us to wait. My mom couldn't and had to leave but I waited for 30 minutes and still did not receive any service. Do not come here if you are expecting to be done in an hour or less! Additionally, I notice that the floors were dirty. There were nail clippings everywhere and a full acrylic nail on the floor next to my chair. Kinda gross. read more

I'll admit that at first I was irritated when I showed up for my 3:00 pm appt and was not seated for 25 min but the ambiance, the care and attention I received during my acrylic nail fill and pedicure, including the gentleness of the nail filing and callous removal, the wonderful foot massage, the cleanliness of the place and the nail polish selection all won me over. My daughter has been exclusively been going here since we moved 2 years ago. After many time of paint peeling early or nails not done as asked(we over looked), today was the last straw. She went in for a fill. She was wanting a lot of length taken off in addition to the fill. In addition to not listening (again) about the length she wanted, she was told AFTER all was done that the guy that did it last time (from the same salon) does a bad job and his nails typically crack. So because of the subpar product she was given last time, she was told that this "fill" was basically a new set. AND he was charging her EXTRA to fix the last guys bad job. So she now has nails that she paid way too much for that she hates. Worst fucking experience at a nail salon will never go back. My manicure took 5 minutes... disgusting tools, cut me cause he was trying to clean my cuticles so quickly, did cuticles, filed super fast, put acetone on my nails and then just polish. Told me to sit and wait (figured he'd be back to at LEAST put cuticle oil on or lotion) came back 10 minutes later and said "I need you to get up I need this station." Didn't even brush off the access dust from my nails. If I could give it a 0 I would but unfortunately I have to give it at least a 1 star. We love this place. My wife has been going for over a year and now I go when I need to as well. We will Not go anywhere else. The owner, Lily, is amazing and tries to make sure everything is always perfect. Her store is always clean and the employees are great. I highly recommend K.W.
