I'm not usually super picky, because I know most nail techs don't care and just want the cash and for me to go away ... I get that. But, today, Julie talked me into getting gel polish for $10 extra. When I got home I realized the shape was lumpy, the polish didn't cover the nail, and the free edge wasn't painted at all. For $10 extra I expected attention to detail. I went back to see if Julie could touch them up. She screamed at me for about 2 minutes. She said I shoulda looked at them before I walked out. She's right. . I should have. This place isn't great. If I could give negative stars I would. This place is a hole in the wall near the Roxborough Shoprite. I just needed my brows, lip, and chin waxed, but I couldn't bring myself to go through with it. When I walked in with my friend, they barely acknowledge our presence. Eventually one lady flippantly says "What you want done?" I told her face waxing. They tell me to wait. 5-10 minutes later she says "come on" and leads me to a tiny area right behind the register/check-in. The room was DISGUSTING. 1. There were FLIES buzzing all over this tiny space. 2. The sheets and towels on the cot where you lay down for waxing had stains ALLLLLL over them. 3. There was piles of crap on top of the cot, like it was used for storage. 4. The wax looked used and COMPLETELY UNSANITARY. IT LOOKED LIKE A DAMN INTERNMENT CAMP. (Not being funny or insensitive here.) It looked like something straight out of the darkest parts of history. All that was missing was a bucket of group diarrhea in the corner. I walked into that room and walked RIGHT OUT. My friend and I exited immediately, and some woman (the owner, I assume) followed us out and asked "You don't want eyebrows done?" I straight up told her "No! It's disgusting in there and dirty. Absolutely not. I CANNOT do it." She had the audacity to look as though she was surprised. Don't go here unless you want some kind of face disease or body fungus. I was sick to my stomach. The filth in this place is atrocious. Never. Again. Sick. read more

*BEWARE OF THIS PLACE!!** Ivy Nails (aka Victoria's Secret Nail & Spa on google) Never coming back again and reporting them to the Better Business Bureau. Not only are they rude - they lie about putting gel color in empty REGULAR nail polish bottles so you will pay triple for gel even if you dont want it. That's the equivalent of a bar illegally pouring well liquor into premium bottles. the place empty all the time due to horrible customer service. And the few people in there are co-workers doing each others nails. Go to the new wonderful Modish Nails around the corner (Target center) they do have an hour wait but call & make an appointment that's because the owners are super nice, honest, clean & even give you wine / water/ tea for the same price. read more

I went here on 2 different days, and they were both terrible experiences. DO NOT COME HERE TO GET YOUR EYEBROWS DONE! The lady, which I guess is the owner, does a terrible job. She made my left eyebrow look very choppy, uneven, and crooked. I had to fill it in myself everyday until it started growing back. I only went back because their pedicures where nice, and I got that done on the same day she decided to mess up my eyebrows. My last and final experience was when they told me they had a client coming and wouldn't be able to give me my pedicure. I would have been okay with that, but I didn't think a client needed two people working on her simultaneously. Maybe they put more effort into their work if they know who you are, I don't know. Ivy Nails and the girls are not only friendly and accomodating but they make your time spent there an enjoyable one. They also offer complimentary eyebrow/lip waxing accompanying services provided. My daughter and I get our nails done every other Saturday. We decided to try this place since it's close to our house. We walked in and it was a few minutes before we were acknowledged and then they proceeded to tell us it was about 5-10 minutes of a wait. So we waited, and waited, and waited for another 20 minutes. I asked again how long and one of the girls who works there snapped at me and repeated 5-10 minutes. After going to the Salon again on Friday afternoon, i wanted to raise my opinion of this salon after another wonderful powder manicure.

Where do I start!! I went for a mani and pedi with gel polish and it was the worst service ever. My pedi took 15 minutes and I don't think she even cut half of my cuticles. My toe polish started chipping the next week. I can usually go 3 weeks with a good pedicure. My manicure was horrible a few days later it looked like I didn't even have a manicure. So this was my second time going to Ivy Nails but my first time going for acrylic. My goal was to get the stiletto acrylic nails in black matte. When I was seated after WAITING 25 MINUTES, and I requested the stilettos and she had no idea what I was talking about and after I explained, she said it was going to cost $5 extra. When she was done she said that she wouldn´t charge me the extra money because I was pretty. When I saw my nails they were basically just rounded at the ends instead of square. Despite this, my acrylics didn´t come off for an entire month. When I went to Natural Nails on Domino Ln. they came off within 3 days of application. I´m not sure if I´ll be returning seeing as the service doesn´t seem to be that good elsewhere either. read more

I am a bit conflicted about this review because the ladies at Ivy Nails are very friendly and courteous. However, after only one day, my gel manicure looks like it didn't cure properly and will scratch/lift soon. Everything looked good when I picked out a color, however, by the time it was applied, the gel polish looked like it had been diluted the point where it had turned sheer. I also had to leave my hands in the UV station for longer than I've ever had to at any other salon. I complained that the color looked a bit washed out/sheer on my nails but they looked at me like I was crazy. They also charge an extra dollar if you pay with a credit card - no matter how much or little the service costs. I wish I could give a better review but I'm not very happy with the quality of the gel polish used. I'll probably go elsewhere next time. read more
