I walked right in, sat right down on a late Thursday afternoon into a nail salon I had never been to and had no personal references for which is how I usually find my nail spots. I looked in my area for a good manicure and this place came up...why? I have no idea. The lady did a good job with painting and doing my cuticles, but that is standard for any manicure. No massage (if you want to count 30 seconds of rubbing lotion on my hands, No exaggeration of that time frame) no anything else....for $25. I always leave a tip so I don't appear rude, but this was just bad and I should have left no tip at all, I was overcharged to begin with. If they charge $12/15 for what I got I could have been ok, but $25 for doing the BARE MINIMUM. The shop itself looks dirty and my translation on my phone showed they were gossiping about all of us in the shop. I'm sad to leave this review because I have come here for years and always enjoyed my services. However, I have recently finished school as a nail tech and realize now that there are several issues happening within the salon. I'm writing today because the sidewall of my toenail was clipped out without consent, causing what will be an ingrown toenail. On Sunday, my big toes were clipped at an angle, causing an infection. Last night, when the pus started to form, I decided that I would be contacting the salon this morning. When I did the woman, I spoke to told me that she would let the male nail tech know not to cut out anyone's ingrown toenails without consent.. Cutting out ingrown toenails is not the job of a nail tech, but rather that of a podiatrist. Nobody, but a doctor should take an ingrown toenail out. Which I explained to her, And I'm sure she already knows Because we all take the same training. Not to mention, my toenail was not ingrown before, but it will be now due to how it was clipped. It's not a simple problem of its sore for a couple days but it will take MONTHS to grow out and I may still need to follow up with a podiatrist at a later time to correct this mistake. I called my mother and told her that we will not be visiting the salon anymore And told me that she doesn't visit the salon anymore for the last several months because they also clipped her toenails and caused an ingrown toenail to grow in place. If my mother had gotten the infection that I have, she could've lost her foot since she is diabetic. All of this to say, I don't believe that healthy and clean practices are happening during pedicures. Offering a discount or a free pedicure does not make up for the damage that's done and I will not be going back to redeem the offered free pedicure. read more

This salon is 5 stars. I feel the need to provide a second review for Ivy Nails since it has been a few years since I first started getting my nails done here and did my first review. I just saw a couple of the strangest reviews by others. Someone said something about it being dirty - that is 100% untrue. One of the biggest reasons I started going to Ivy is because they are one of the cleanest salons I have been to. Anne remodeled a couple of years ago so everything is new plus her standards for cleanliness are very high. Disposable plastic barriers in the pedicure stations and the tools are all sterilized and in clean packs for each client. Everyone that works there is very nice, efficient and does a great job. They are friendly and make you feel like family, especially once you are regular. I completely disagree with the couple 1 star reviews. Either they reviewed the wrong salon or it had to have been some strange one-off thing that happened on their visit that does not properly reflect the consistent experience that my friends and I have had here. read more

I went to Ivy Nails today. I had an appointment for 4:30. I show up at 4:30 and am told it's a 15 minute wait. I was a tad bit irritated at that, but I understand that sometimes that's just the way it is. I showed the nail artist a picture and asked her for the exact same color, a ombré type style. I showed her an acrylic nail photo, but I told her that I didn't want acrylics because my nails are long enough. First of all, she said it would look best with dip. Which I told her I had never had and would try. Then she filed all of the length off of my nails. And the paint was not exactly like the picture. I'm sure she tried her best, but if she didn't completely understand how to do an ombré, she should have asked someone else. In the end I paid 55 dollars for a manicure.. they do not have their prices posted, and prices have increased "because of COVID". Overall, not completely dissatisfied. But I don't think I will go back there if I want something specific. Oh! And I didn't get my favorite part, the massage. As for COVID times. They sat everyone right next to each other. No chair in between. I watched a couple people leave, and they did not sanitize anything before other people sat down. They did not wear gloves so their hands are touching your hands, bare. BUT when you walk in, they do ask you to wash your hands and everyone was wearing masks. read more

I have been going here for probably a year now and they always do a really good job and it's clean as well! The people are really friendly and are always open to doing designs and i have found they really care and listen to what you have to say. My friends and i tried a different salon this morning just because and idk if maybe i'm just a super perfectionist but i thought they were SO ugly they were all uneven and chunky and lumpy and lopsided as you can see in the photos. I genuinely could not stand having those on my hands any longer so i went to Ivy nails (where i usually go) and Anne was happy to fix my nails. She shaped them super nicely and i was so relieved and she told me it was important to her to do great work on all her clients which i thought was really nice! I got my nails done by dan & he was literally the best! He made sure that he removed my old set carefully & when doing my nails he paid very close attention to little details that needed to be fixed. Yes I'm a guy who like a Pedicure after my wife brought me to get one with a lady she has followed fir years near her work. However that is in Olympia and I don't work that direction and we live in South Hill. After trying several different places that were good I tried this place and would say it's an little better than the others. I've never understood however that you can call to schedule an appointment and then when you arrive it seems they never check or seem to verify you were the appointment? Either way I had a good experience here. My only warning to going here is that the parking is tight so I would recommend a car and not large vehicles. My sister called 2 days before and scheduled an appointment for 6pm for a mani and pedi. We got there at 6 and they were slammed but managed to get us seated pretty fast. My feet were soaking for about 45 minutes before they even got to me (mind you they close at 7) then they decided to ask me to come back the next day to get my mani. I told them no so they had someone come do my gel mani while the girl was finishing up my pedicure. Although she did a great job with it, it was beyond rushed and they didn't treat us very well. I could go on and on about how rude they were to us too but don't want to bore anyone. Moral of the story, don't go here!! Keep your money and go elsewhere. Also there were 2 other girls there that had an appointment at 6 for a mani (all they wanted was a color change) and they also didn't get seated until about 6:50. Pretty sure the girl that did their nails gave them some sort of discount, me on the other hand paid full price and got made to feel like a jerk because I told them I wanted my nails done that night because we were headed out of town the next day. Just moved to Spanaway and I hate having to look for a new nail salon and was lucky to see such positive reviews here. The first time I came, I got a pedicure and the guy who did was amazing! I also got a manicure + gel nails and the girl who did it is seriously AMAZING! Since my first time, I have been back to change my nail color and again, great service. The one thing that annoys me is the other girl who I think works there? The both times I went, she did nothing and was semi-rude. Other than that, LOVE this place!
