Best steaks and Prime Rib in Salisbury/Lexington! Definitely go here for a Birthday, Anniversary or Special Occasion. Love Ivan's!

Beer And Cheese Soup Served In A Bouille

If I could give Ivan's 6/5 stars I would. We have dined at this restaurant on numerous occasions, each being just as memorable as the last. The food here is always delicious, consistent, and the service is great. We always come back for the beer cheese soup but are more than pleased with our entrees whenever we eat. I couldn't recommend Ivan's enough for your next celebration, or just a night out to eat!

Palate cleanser. Lemon lime sorbet. Absolutely wonderful.

O my Word !!! Mushrooms Amazing. French onion soup, one of the best I have ever had. I have eaten prime rib in at least 6 different states across America. Hands down the best prime rib I have ever had. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant has a very western rustic style beautifully decorated.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Service was fantastic and super friendly. Just the way I like it. So glad we decided to eat here. It will now become a part of our yearly tradition of coming up to the high rock lake area.

Stumbled into this restaurant when traveling in North Carolina... loved the place, old school look and feel, pretty solid menu and great friendly "fancy" service. I ordered the prime rib, 14 oz. Very delectable! They serve lemon sorbet between courses. Dessert was also very nice. Was a great "small town" experience that I recommend for anyone around the area.

We had a wonderful meal for our Anniversary! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Quiet and upscale ambiance with attentive service.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Our server, Jensen was great, friendly and met all our needs with a smile. Drinks, appetizers and dinner all came out in a timely fashion. The filet was perfect! Best we've ever eaten. We both liked the onion soup and Maryland crab cake was a good as I've had in Baltimore. Save room for dessert, the NY cheesecake and Tuxedo cheesecake were amazing and the prefect end to a great meal. Looking forward to having dinner at Ivan's again!

We finally made it here. After months of talking about it and planning with friends, dinner finally happened. It was Saturday and Ivan's opens at 5. They do take reservations but I've been told if you are there when they open, you can usually get a table. We got there at 5:10 and the place was already willing up. But we did get a booth for the 5 of us. Ivan's definitely is a more upscale place than what I am used to but comfortable attire is acceptable. You don't need to dress to the 9's. The hostess was sweet and polite and showed us to our booth. Our server was cheerful and very helpful. She gave us menus and the wine list. We all got ice water and she also brought a big basket of fresh rolls and butter. Excellent ! 10/10 on the crusty rolls. Ivan's is NOT cheap so just be prepared. Ivan's is known for their steaks and prime rib. Although they do offer salmon, chicken, ribs and the like. I'll speak for my family and our food experience. My oldest daughter ordered the Cajun chicken, baked potato and broccoli. My wife ordered the salmon, baked potato and veggie medley. I ordered the 10oz prime rib, medium with veggie medley. We all got salad as well. The salads came first and they were very fresh. Not even a hint of old lettuce. Very good. Ivan's also offers a palate-cleansing sorbet after your salad before the entree comes. Pretty nice. My daughter was disappointed in the chicken. Two small boneless breasts with seasoning on it. She said the chicken was dry. I told her it was a steak place but alas, she ordered what she wanted to. Potato and broccoli were good. 5/10 on the chicken. Wife loved her salmon and the rest of her meal. 10/10. My prime rib was EXCELLENT and served with a creamy horseradish sauce. Outstanding. Although I ordered it medium, it was a bit on the rare side but the taste was superb. Would definitely get it again. Between the rooms, salad and main meal, nobody had room for dessert. Ivan's is an excellent place to get a special meal. On our budget, this is a once, MAYBE twice a year place for us. We treated our two friends to their dinner. For the five of us, plus $30 tip, the bill came to $198. With the exception of the chicken, all the food was outstanding. The chicken is the reason for 4 stars instead of 5. This place is well worth a visit for a special occasion or if you are blessed with a healthy wallet. We I'll go back. But my wallet needs to recharge first.

Great food, cool country atmosphere. A good place if you are looking for steak. Something outside of all the chain restaurants.

Impeccable food and service. Every time! It's an old school steakhouse with modern American steakhouse cuisine. One of my favorites!

Our server, I forget her name, was the epitome of hospitality and service. She anticipated our needs (refills, to go containers etc) - chatted about the history or the restaurant and town - providing suggestions not just for dinner but attractions on our way to our destination. She was just so very cool. The food was great - I opted for Greek Spaghetti. Different than I've had before but enjoyed it all the same. It was like the flavor was liquid or broth form, pooled at the bottom of the dish. Another version I had was dry, like Pesto. Anyway - when I figured out all the goodness was at the bottom of the plate - it was all over from there. Mixed it up a little. Toss in a little crushed red peppers for taste. Then inhaled it all until it was all gone. The al dente noodles. Charred chicken. All just right. The service for me made it an excellent experience. Food was good and I enjoyed it enough that if I'm ever in the area again, I'd definitely stop in - but not before trying other places first. But if I lived in the area, I'd be a regular.

Absolutely fantastic find. Salisbury really needed a restaurant like this! The server was great,…read morereally taking pride in what she does. Incredibly informative about the menu, friendly, thorough, and completely elevated the experience. I can't remember her name but she said she just celebrated her one year anniversary working there. The chef, Kyle, came to our table to discuss a food allergy of someone in our party and came back multiple times to talk to us. He was GREAT, and we could really tell he was experienced and loves what he does. What we got: Milk Bread - 100/10.... I could've eaten the whole thing myself. I would love to get ahold of this recipe... and the homemade butter. Oysters - 10/10 I was reluctant because of the past reviews, but they were outstanding. Some of the best oysters I've ever had in my life. Had a Bloody Mary seasoning. Chicken wing special - 100/10 wow and wow. I could've also eaten all six of these by myself. I held back ordering a second round. Tomahawk steak - 10/10 the flavor on this was unlike anything I have ever tasted before. Perfectly cooked and worth the price. The creamed spinach side that comes with the steak was also glorious. The potatoes that came with it were not my favorite, but they did the job. Cabbage special - 100/10 this may have been my favorite thing we ate all night. Unfortunately, the portion was not that big and I really wish there were more for the price. . It was outstanding. Panna cotta dessert - 8/10 I'm not a big dessert person so this was nice because it was not overly sweet and very light. The overall experience was wonderful. It was relaxed, we did not feel rushed. Atmosphere 10 out of 10. Service 10 out of 10. Food 9.999 out of 10. Steep price tag, but it was well worth it and we can't wait to come back when we visit again next year.

On a couple…read moredifferent occasions servers mentioned the owners don't like tables ordering kid steak meals/extra plates. And it seems the servers get pressured from management on this and it negatively shows to families with children who come to this location. And if you ask for an extra plate to share all sorts of negative emotions are displayed from servers. This has happened on multiple occasions. With young kids who do not eat much anyway, not sure why this location wants to pick battles with families with kids. All of this doesn't just flow from the servers, it comes from the management/owner(s) who instead of finding a way to balance margins and customer service, they sacrifice customer service for minimal margin gain by directing their staff and probably reprimanding them for these kinds of situations. We have visited multiple other longhorns over the years and this is the only one that displays a noticeable stinginess and negative attitude with extra plates and kid's meal orders. All other longhorns have provided excellent service when we order the same thing at any other longhorn we go to and have no complaints; the Salisbury location however today decided to seemingly cut one of our kids meal steaks in half and serve one steak as two on separate kids meals. Our server today was sweet and very nice until we ordered, then a noticeable shift took place in the tone and atmosphere, and the staff seemed to try and "get back" at us by providing us with the tiniest steaks possible, literally half the size of a normal kid's steak we have ever received in the years we have been going to Longhorn and getting kids meals. With 3 young kids all over 2 years old present; ordering 2 kids meals and an extra plate with our family of 5 should not be met with this kind of disgruntlement from staff. This kind of stinginess flows from the higher ups at this location and it shows. And of all the days to deliver a passive aggressive retaliation on kids meals to my kids, they chose Father's Day. We will not be returning to this location as it is not family friendly. So now, losing customers and revenue over this pettiness doesn't seem so good for the margins anymore does it?

I could barely cut my ribeye (doubtful it was a ribeye- the texture alone was completely off).
