as I'm approaching 60 years old, I went with It's Just Lunch because I was told that they had a large database of men who were in my age range, and socioeconomic background. Instead, I had three dates with men who were in my age range, but did not share my values, beliefs, orfuture goals. Most importantly, I was looking for somebody to travel the country in the world with. Each person I speak to is ruder and more unprofessional than the last! My 1st date was not even a current, paying client. He was a client 12 years before and had that old of a profile as well. It took me about one month to get a supervisor on the phone and she informed me that there were absolutely no refunds to be given, under any circumstances. I was given a new "dating coordinator," as the 1st one was extremely rude and hung up on me twice. Welp...where do I begin? First of all, even though I gave IJL 3 stars, my story does have a happy ending. :) My experience with IJL started out as a positive one with an awesome sales gal by the name of Michelle. Her positive energy and exuberance for what I was about to embark on was so infectious and got me very pumped and excited to sign up! She told me about a few prospects she already had in the pipeline to send me out with once I signed up and paid the money...which if you are a member you know isn't cheap! Once I did sign up and was assigned a Coordinator, those prospects were never to be spoken of again, and were simply used as bait to get me to pay the money...Super sales technique! My first Coordinator Jas, was THE WORST!!! So rude and condescending to me, much like Aimee's experience. After paying all that money and being treated that way, I knew there was no way in heck I could put up with her for one more second. So, I contacted the corporate office and requested a new coordinator ASAP! My next coordinator, Laquana was better. I also worked with Princess, who was ok too. Long story short, I met who would be my future Husband on my 3rd date with IJL. :) We had a tremendous connection on our first date and even planned a second date before our first was over. Literally the day after this date with my now Husband, IJL called to send me out on a date with another gentleman..which would be my last introduction that would fulfill their obligation of our contract. I told them I wanted to pursue things with my now Husband, and didn't want to go on that date quite yet. They proceeded to tell me it was too soon for me to make that judgement call. None the less I insisted and turned down that date, which was the best decision I have ever made! My Husband and I had our first date on June 5th, 2017, he proposed to me on February 12, 2018 and we got married on June 2nd, 2018. Yes, thank you IJL for this forever introduction. However, we were very disheartened by the fact that IJL did not even know about our success story, as I received calls from them trying to sell me on a summer special they had going on just a couple of months ago. A real bummer and they really need to get it together because that is just unacceptable. No follow ups after I declined that date with the 4th gentleman. My first thought was...wow they must be just killing it and don't need another success story for their companies stats. Based on the reviews I'm reading...they could definitely use more success stories! My Husband and I also learned through our experience with IJL that some members don't pay, which doesn't seem right at all! So, yes thank you IJL for the best introduction of my life, but you really need to step up your game in the Customer service department and be consistent with what you are charging for this service, as it should be equal for everyone who is seriously looking to find their life partner. This service is a scam. They bait you into signing up by telling you they have many girls that fit what you are looking for. Once you pay, they say, oh those girls are no longer available. They ask you specifically what you are looking for and what you are not looking for and then introduce you to girls that don't fit your criteria. They lie and don't even listen to what you want. Yep, 0 stars should be an option for this company. Is anyone interested in a class action lawsuit? They were handed a hefty fine in NY for their unethical business practices. Women pay, men don't. Their shallow swamp if full of toads. Their employees are downright rude and condescending. I wish I had taken the time to do the research and due diligence before giving these people my hard earned money. They even have their own version of Yelp they send you to, called ConsumerAffairs - another scam. It's basically their company and their girlfriends who write these bogus reviews describing how awesome their services are. Has been 6 months and I've had 2 dates - one I declined but they convinced me to accept despite nothing in common - BUST, second, think this is probably the same guy Joy wrote about. 12 year old pics, non paying customer, whom I think would have been happy sitting at home on his couch with his TV dinner. I don't even know where to start. I signed up for IJL on my father's insistence as I am a hardworking single woman in my late twenties who lives happily alone, but hey let's make Dad happy. I want to be clear about why I used this service, as it is different for others- I get too many matches via online dating apps, and I don't have the time or patience to weed through and find those I will actually have a connection with. Turns out, though, IJL is just more of a headache and frustration point. The cost was $5k for 12 months or 14 dates. Don't be fooled by the initial welcome/intake call, this is the only person in the 12 months who is focused on getting to know you, and she's gone after that call. After you are in the program, you get an Executive Matchmaker, who is supposed to be your go-to contact person. One would imagine they should get to know the client a little better and understand who they are and their personality, but in fact I am already on my 6th? matchmaker after being in the program for about 10 months. You get switched and tossed around like a hot potato and it's been ridiculous finding who is supposed to help me. I get a VM from a lady saying she is my new Matchmaker, I give her a call back the next week and she repeatedly tells me I must have misheard the VM (even though this thing call voice transcribing exists on Apple, so I apparently can't read either), and that I am wrong. She finally admits that I am right, and next week I have a different matchmaker. The matches they present you are based on a basic subset of qualifiers (I don't notice this consistently), then hobbies. I can't tell you how many guys I share hobbies with, since I like outdoor activities and watching/playing sports, but who I am and my personality doesn't play into a match potential ever. Then there is the massive amount of time it takes to actually get to the date itself. I think most of my dates (only 4 so far...) have been 3-6 weeks out for no valid reason. They don't give you reminders at all, make sure you keep your calendar up to date. When I got to a new matchmaker, I was accidentally put on a 2-month hold b/c he "missed" one of my reply emails, but then never admitted to it. A few weeks ago I went on a date with a guy. (The locations of these dates do NOT coordinate with where either of you live, be prepared to drive). Turns out he doesn't even live in Phoenix, he's just here often for work. So my preferences I clearly laid out in starting this program (I do NOT want a long distance relationship nor to date in other cities) drastically missed the ball here. I was presented a match this week as my next date, the details started sounding familiar, then I had asked if my feedback from the last date was taken into consideration here. I want more of a macho man, alpha male (all I've gone on dates with are men I would definitely wear the pants with) and he told me, "well he's not arrogant, and he's a lawyer so I bet he can get aggressive" (how is that how you interpret that?) Bad answer, but I said to send it over and I'll look. But then the email comes, and it's someone I've already been on a date with and did not want to see again. Are you kidding? I have so many negative experiences I could write about, but ultimately it comes down to the service having no value and the customer experience. The service has been awful awful awful and the dates haven't amounted to anyone I am interested in. After the initial two conversations from the "sales representatives" being professional all other interactions have been rude and unprofessional on the part of the supposed "matchmakers". I went on my first "date" after paying $2800.00 to find out they "matched" me with a client of theirs from 10 years prior who had no interest in even being there. I was led to believe that I would be sent on dates with others who were truly interested in dating and finding their partner. IJL asks for feedback after your date but my advisor could have cared less about what I took the time to write. A million thank you's to my matchmaking team! After a year and a half of dating, my boyfriend proposed last night! If it wasn't for it's just lunch, we would have never met- even though we probably crossed paths a hundred times around town. I had done It's Just Lunch about 5 years ago and was pretty disappointed. But I went as a +1 to a wedding and the bridal party mentioned Its Just Lunch a couple times, but nonchalantly, in the speeches. I ended up asking the bride to share her story with me. She had met her husband on her 4th date and the rest is history. She said she knew before she even got to the date that they were going to hit it off from looking into his eyes in the picture and their similar backgrounds. I was blown away that she saw a picture- I went to all my dates blindly. She said she saw pictures of all of her dates and even turned down a couple because she is "picky". About three months later, somebody called me from the company. I almost said I wasn't interested, but heard her out. Everything that made it a bad experience was changed to make it better. I ended up taking the chance and buying another membership. And now it's my turn to say the rest is history! Good job It's Just Lunch on listening to your clients and making it so easy and enjoyable. Someone recommended this company to me, so I decided to check them out. They asked me for $4,500 for 12 dates! That is a lot of money, but here's where they totally lost me. They claim to screen people, but they don't do a real screening as far as I'm concerned. After pressing them for their screening process, they admitted they basically match your face to your license off a picture to see if you are who you say you are. In my opinion that is not a screening. You want almost 5k from me, but you won't sport the few bucks to pull a background check? So for all that money you could be setting me up with a pedophile? All I'm saying is, you'll have to offer me more before you get that much money out of me... read more

I signed up for It's Just Lunch services a year ago with a very optimistic attitude. My experience begin with the first date canceling and IJL did not set up another date until over a month later after I contacted several people within the company and attempted to cancel. My contract stated I would be set up on 10 dates within that year and was only set up with 7. I would not be upset if even one of those dates had the potential of blossoming into something. After each date you are each asked to provide feedback. I provided feedback and what I was looking for and every time, I was set up with the same type of guy that I shared no common interests. It was also stated in my contract that I would have a session with a dating coach 6 months into my membership. A coach did not contact me until 2 weeks before my membership ended. I have reached out to IJL to address these concerns with no response back. If you are considering signing up, know that you will not see a picture of the individual they are setting you up with and you will be given very little information on the person. As I mentioned, I had to attempt to cancel early on in order to get any dates lined up and they still were not able to set me up on 10 dates within a years time. I wasted $2500 on what I though was a reputable company & a good investment for my future. Do your research before spending your hard-earned cash. read more

First, I come from a smaller market, so I may have a unique experience; however, I feel strongly enough to warn the fellow consumers about only part of the bad experiences I had staring shortly after day one: - Misrepresentation during initial sale call - Failure to disclose actions taken on the account - Refusal to communicate in writing - Multiple emails sent to me for the wrong person or with the wrong name - High pressure tactics in creating an unnecessary sense of urgency followed by silence for weeks or months from the company - Failure for employees to address specific issues - Refusal to escalate concerns upon demand - Employees failing to return calls or emails - Employees with poor communication skills/reading from scripts - One particular "Dating Director" was downright rude. - High turnover with "Dating Directors" leading to errors, false promises, and inconsistency - Email "form letter" responses which did not address the issue - Matching seemed to be based on who is available rather than anything to do with my interests or profile. - Matches which were clearly not within my profile . - The illusion that feedback to the Dating Director was being consider; however, later told that feedback would not change my profile - The lack of authority for employees to address grievances or concerns - False statements that my "profile" could not be changed - When a supervisor did agree to address the grievance, they quickly become reachable. - Supervisors stated that phone call conversations would be followed up by an email documenting the conversation. This did not happen. I will say the concept is great. But it didn't work for me, at all. That part aside, the business practice feels more like a timeshare sales, and that treatment had lead to this review. I strongly urge you not to use this service. read more

Worst experience ever. The match maker was rude, yelled and would scold me for calling or emailing her. Set up on one date in 6 months and the person did not meet any of the things I said I was looking for. No one called me after for feedback, as I was told they would. TERRIBLE customer service. Asked for a new match maker and was told they would reach out to me and no one called for months. No one would return my calls or emails. Would not let me speak to a manager, was told over and over 'management will be emailed on your behalf.' When I asked for a new match maker because mine had been rude to me I was told, 'you don't know what rude is! I'll show you rude.' I encourage you to not waste your money. I spent 2800$ to be verbally abused and go one one bad date. read more

This is honestly the worst experience I have ever had. I feel like I was sold one thing and received the exact opposite. For 4 months I was with one "dating coach" and I went on 1 date. I was matched with 4 other people that didn't even meet the requirements that I asked for. After repeatedly expressing my dissatisfaction I was told I was going to get a new dating coach to get a new perspective and they would reach out shortly to introduce themselves. I heard nothing for 1 month. Today I received a call and when I was again expressing my dissatisfaction and letting them know that I just want a refund of my money because it was the WORST experience I have ever had and what poor customer service I experienced I was told there was no way that I can get a refund and I don't know what good customer service is. I was offended as customer service is my specialty. And then I asked for a managers name and phone number to elevate my HORRIBLE experience I was told that doesn't happen and that they would elevate the situation. I was widowed two years ago and finally ready to "date" again - after 35 years since being on the dating scene, which apparently made me vulnerable to the sales pitch. I have been on one "intro" and had very little in common with the fellow. There has been 10 weeks of complete silence from IJL - interrupted ONLY by my attempts to get a prorated refund. I did finally get to speak with Debbie, a manager, who offered to assign a new dating director - but flatly told me I would not get a refund. That dating director did not call until I emailed Debbie 3 days later asking what was going on...that was 2 1/2 weeks ago. Complete silence. Total ripoff. read more

Its Just Lunch is a complete scam..They sweet talk you into how they qualify your matches....I am working with an office out of Miami and I am located in Scottsdale they do not know the city or people at all....Some of the matches are not active members of IJL...Profile of the matches were old and the people have changed....My match maker went dark for 3 months.....Their guarantee is they will give you so many matches for your $2800.00...Then they slap anyone on the date with you...Once you figure that out and start declining matches due to the lack of qualification they count your declines as a match....The business model is a short term game..collect your money and then on to the next one.....If you request to discuss with management they will not give you a name or number...Took me a month to track down the manager of the franchise.....I can not believe how this company is still in business or is allowed to operate....will be taking this up with the BBB... read more

My two dating coordinators, Jas and Stephanie, have introduced me to two ladies - both of whom were enjoyable, compatible, and attractive. It's Just Lunch has always been responsive to my questions and concerns, and has honored every one of their commitments to me.
