My experience has been similar to D'arcy M. but worse. After paying nearly $5K for 6 months, with a bonus extension of another 6 months, I was presented with ZERO match options. That doesn't mean I had date options but turned them down. That means after a full year, ZERO possible matches were presented to me. After a year had passed and my contract was supposed to be up, there was no communication whatsoever. Not even a formal "your contract is up -- sorry we couldn't help!" Nothing. So I contacted the owner Emily and asked for a refund. I realized I had signed a contract, agreeing that Caliber Matchmakers do not guarantee results, but I couldn't believe she'd feel her company had delivered any sort of good faith ROI after a full year. Emily was nice, but wouldn't give me any sort of refund, instead offering me another 6 months extension, with a new matchmaker--the lead matchmaker. I talked to the new matchmaker, who was also very nice. I told her I wanted to avoid another matchless experience, and that if what I was looking for was too restrictive, I wanted her honest feedback and we could collaborate on how to get better results. After a couple months, I was presented with my first, and as it turns out, my ONLY match option. I went on the date, but it didn't work out. That was July 2024, after signing a contract with Caliber in November 2022. And then that was it. I kept checking in once a month with my matchmaker, but no new match options. Then she stopped responding completely at the end of October 2024. I reached out to Emily the owner again and finally heard back from her on December 12, 2024. She told me my matchmaker had been having some personal issues that had affected her availability. So she offered to reassign me to yet ANOTHER matchmaker instead of a refund, if that was OK with me. It was not OK with me. I told her it felt like gross negligence and I wanted a full refund. She never responded. Ghosted. So, if you're keeping score, that's over two years of my life wasted, with only ONE match option presented to me in those two years. With only a very bare minimum amount of communication/service and only when I dragged it out of them. All for nearly $5K. I'd be inclined to call Caliber Match a scam, but I feel like even a scam would've tried a little harder. It looks like Emily sometimes responds to these bad reviews. Caliber Match SCAMMED me out of nearly $5,000. They did not deliver what they promised. They took advantage of someone that was looking for help with finding decent dates. I was NEVER matched with ANY dates and after several months of waiting for them to do what they said they would, I reached out to the owner Emily (via LinkedIn) asking for help. I did not get any resolution or their guaranteed refund. She told me that we were still in the 6 month period and they would extend it for me. Extend for what?!? They clearly had no way of providing me matches in Oregon and were not going to. I reported them to the Better Business Bureau and it went nowhere. Going to add my experience to that of many others here. BUYER BEWARE. I worked with Caliber for approximately 8 months - hard to say exactly as it was a bit on and off and communication was so bad I never knew when or if they working for me. The team ONLY communicates if clients reach out first and even then it can take over a week for a response. I too was threatened with litigation. And thousands of dollars over months of time got me presented with one possible 'match' - a gentleman in Scottsdale (where the company is located but I am not) that was not interested in any long distance dating. Making it a non starter even if we had wanted to meet. A waste of time, money, stress and hope. In my opinion - the company is a scam. Total scam. Took my money and did absolutely NOTHING. I had to continually call for updates. I got a few calls back in the first couple of months then just "ghosted". I sent countless emails to my "designated matchmaker" Jessica who stopped returning my calls. I tried contacted Emily who signs her emails as Owner/Founder/CEO and spoke to her one time. She promised to get back to me. NOTHING. I followed up with COUNTLESS emails to both Emily and Jessica and got ZERO response. The first match in AZ was not at match as they presented someone severely overweight with 10 year old photos. They could not find me anyone in Arizona, so i extended to CO, CA & NV. They found me one in LA which was not a match. I then agreed to talk with someone from VA and also said let's try Atlanta as i was going there for a trip and provided 2 from there. That is what was provided! They gave me some others in other far away states. I came to them as they said they would find in my local area, they did not! I expanded and still nothing, so they went to far away states. It doesn't matter at this point my $6700 is gone and Emily is delusional on the service she provided. Please please please save your money. This is a sham and I feel so bad for anyone who pays 4-10 thousand to get set up on a couple dates that don't match qualifications. I ended up meeting a gal who works for a service identical to this one and when I told her I signed up for caliber I was so excited and she just immediately told me I'd made a mistake, she couldn't have been more correct. It was too late by then. My experience in a nutshell 1 date, 2 matches neither of which were even in the ballpark, down 5,000 dollars and when you ask for any sort of compensation or adjustment they are incredibly off putting and not at all understanding/accommodating. I understand how it feels to have little precious time and I know why you're considering this service, but whatever hopelessness you may feel about dating now this will make you feel worse. I wish I had done my research but I'll admit I was looking for hope that there was more out there than bumble and this is not it. I have read a number of their reviews and I'm sure mine is nothing new but I am almost one year into my 6 month contract with 6 month automatic renewal "and we will work with you till we find a match". It was for unlimited matches. I have been presented with ZERO matches. I have reached out and been told they are interviewing gentlemen; I have then been told my contract was on hold so they were just starting (note this was after I was told they were interviewing gentlemen); was told they were interviewing and it had to be a both-ways match; was told the contract started late so they had just started interviewing matches (4 or 5 months after telling me they were actively interviewing). As others have said they seem to customer shame--I have not turned down matches for distance, qualifications, etc--I HAVE NOT BEEN GIVEN ANY MATCHES. Now this process involved "pre-qualification" so I submitted pics and bio--had they said you are a terrible ogre, we will not be able to help, I would not have paid the money. Instead they said you will have so many matches! (I can give context but 5 foot 1, blonde/blue eyes, 110 pounds, successful career...ie, I'm not an ogre) I reached out to say perhaps my geography was tough and they could expand search and they were surprised to even learn what my geography was. I went into this completely doubtful hoping they could prove me wrong and they proved they are predatory thieves. Again--I'm disgusted by the client shaming and I have every email I sent and received, so can share context when they say that I was a "difficult client". It is not difficult to ask for progress reports. (Which were not really received.) My only asks were: are there any updates? Can I expand my geography? If this doesn't work because of age/location can I get my money back (7 or so months in). I have filed a complaint with the BBB after asking the company several times to discuss a good resolution for both (ie, if I am not geographically suitable, let's just be done--though I went through pre-screening, so should have figured that out). I think it is despicable for these people to prey on men or women claiming to do something when the don't and here: corker is, I'm a single mother of 4 and was really hoping this would help but instead I lost money I could have used to do something with my daughters--trusting people who are liars. Similar encounter. They lure you in by saying what you want to hear, only to fall silent afterward. They discuss local recruiters and suggest that the surrounding population will result in suitable matches for you. However, when inquiries are made, they claim they need to contact the owner. Do not use them. They will not take responsibility for anything. Please check reviews, the BBB, etc before signing up. The sales pitch was aggressive and they blamed the clients. Most recently the owner Emily said she was traveling during a pandemic which is why she didn't contact me, then it was issue with her email. They did not have a sensible or coherent strategy for Covid and the business never addressed its clients. Because they do not care. You get the idea. They will say -I have this in email - that the non disparagement clause in the contract is why they don't have positive reviews. And why do t they take credit cards like other legitimate businesses? So you have to file in court. She actually told me to have my lawyer contact her directly before I even brought up legal recourse. Lol. Anyone with any knowledge knows lawyers talk to other lawyers not the business owner. Another threat tactic. Look at their responses to other clients. They just argue and never say they care about their work or clients. They only care about taking your money and then avoiding you so buyer please beware. Learn from our mistakes. So you see the response - no responsibility. Jessica actually told me I could get my money back if I only went on one date. The third match they weren't going to send me - but I asked to see it. So that doesn't really make much sense. She puts up only what supports her claims. They can respond however they want but before I signed up I saw a negative BBB review and they just made the person sound "crazy". You can decide for yourself - freedom of speech allows myself and others to post my experience with them. Simple as that. And there are many negative reviews. Not just mine. Of course I am posting - I want others to know. That's the whole point of this. I have many positive reviews on Yelp so again - decide for yourself. But they are hard on the sales and then pretty much ignore you unless you bother them. As far as the first match - I went out 2 times and he turned out to be really inappropriate. I signed a contract with them, in September 2017. It is March 2018 and I have yet to receive ONE match. The first time I reached out to them, in December, I was told "they had interviewed a few gentlemen and non turned out to be mutual matches." The second time, in January, I was told they had interviewed many potential matches but "these men do not want to start a relationship with someone in (my city) and have to deal with the traffic on a consistent basis." When has a man declined meeting an attractive, professional woman on the off chance that IF something were to develop, they might have to deal with traffic? Caliber Match certainly knew my address when I signed the contract. If they thought my location (50 miles from San Diego, Orange County, San Bernardino, and Palm Springs) was going to be such a problem, they had the opportunity and would have been wise to share that with me in the beginning.After all, isn't this their business? I believe I actually brought up the location issue, prior to contract signing, and was told, contrarily, it was quite convenient, that I was rather centrally located between several cities with many prospects. I travel approximately 100 miles round trip for work every day. I have family in San Diego and am there every weekend. If you live in Southern California, you drive, and simply work "traffic" into your travel time. It's hardly a unique concept and yet of "all the men interviewed" traffic was their number one concern? Spoke with one of their sales persons. She couldn't have been older than Twenty five. She promised love, but when pressed, she said "I cant be responsible for peoples marriage" When I asked her if she had any "matchmakers" in Syracuse, she said yes, when I asked how many she said "I dont have access to that database" When I told her there was nothing good about them online, they said "its a very private thing" To which I said, you could get people to write under their first name if they were truly happy with you. To top it all off, they said their service would be $5000-$7000 with no guarantees or requirement to perform. Their pitch script is very good, but it seems they do not care about their deliverables. Would not recommend this service to anyone. This service costs thousands of dollars and there is a no refund policy in their contract, so basically all the risk is on you as the consumer and none on them as the business, even if they don't find you ANY matches. They supposedly have scouts in the area of your preferred search radius/area you live to ensure they can give you quality matches BEFORE they take you on as a client. Then a few months into your contract, suddenly there are no matches even though they claim before taking you on they can do a good job for you. Again, no refund policy in the contract even if they don't hold up their end of the bargain! While they are very friendly on the phone and don't use a high pressure sales pitch to get you to sign a contract, they are unorganized and hard to get a hold of once you are under contract, which makes sense because why would they want to talk with you once you start questioning their work? I was under promised one quality match per month, while being told they don't want to commit to more but that they hope to over deliver. After 8 months I was only matched with 4 people. Only was interested in meeting 3 of them and only went on a second date with 1 of them. I understand matchmaking is hard thing to do, and as such the costs are quite high but these results are pitiful. I would have had better results standing on the street corner offering $500 to anyone who would go out to dinner with me. Do not give these people a dime, they're bad at this. A very shady business practice. I had agreed to a deal with them which included what I was looking for in a match and the price. Two days after the verbal agreement, they retracted their offer. They also think it's okay to match you with people who only "visit" the area you want a match, the matches don't need to reside in your geographical area. Terrible service overall. I rarely got the feeling that the reps. were genuinely interested in matching me up and so I wasn't surprised after only 4 matches that my 'time' had expired... I had to constantly reach out to them to ask for updates until I realized I couldn't, officially, count on the service/support. I came across the company through a post on FB and I wasn't sure what it was all about at first. I had a look at the website www.calibermatch.com and realized that it was a matchmaking company. I have seen the show, Millionaire Matchmaker, so I figured it would be simililar and it sort caught my interest. I am single. I live in Scottsdale - the worst place to date ever, and so I thought, why not? When you go on the site you can see that they offer a few different services or programs: Become a client, become a potential match, and coaching. I guess the coaching is for people who just need a little extra help with their dating skills. I chose to be matched with a client. I am in no hurry to find someone but thought it would be fun to be set up with a guy - that has already gone through a background check lol! Anyway, I filled out the Matchme profile that they have and submitted a request. Like 2 or 3 days later I recieved an email with my personality type and my best match personality type. It was an interesting read. There were also a few more questions to answer and submit. Okay, did that. Next thing I got was a personal email from Emily, the owner and Head matchmaker, and she thanked me for filling out the profile and informed me that pending a background check I was part of the club or whatever it is. There is a fee involved. Less than $100 but that covers the initial personality typing - which I believe is done by her or at least a person, the background check and coaching. That gives me three months of membership and I also get VIP invites to singles mixers and wine tastings and such hosted by them at no cost. I passed the background check, obviously ;-) and then Emily invited me to chat with her and Nicole, her partner matchmaker for coffee at Starbucks. That was the kicker for me, she took time out of her schedule to sit down and chat and get to know more about me and seemed sincerely happy to be there. AND she paid for the coffee! This is the reason I wrote this review. She is super fun and friendly and went way beyond what I ever expected. I don't know what the events will be like, but I look forward to them.
