I was recommended to Joann from a friend who met her husband through Joann's matchmaking. I still was very skeptical about Matchmaking. But after wasting time online and with men who weren't really looking for long term relationships, I was willing to try anything When I first met Joann I had quite the list of who I wanted to meet. I've never had a problem meeting attractive men but just couldn't find the right one. Joann is kind but very direct about getting real about who I should be with. Frankly I was a bit put out that she thought she knew more than me. So I didn't budge. And afterwards I didn't hear from Joann for some time. I was surprised as I thought I would be flooded with dates. But it isn't online dating and by the time she called I had more bad dates and short term relationships and was much more open. I met two men, both were great but one was just a bit different from all the others. He isn't someone I would have picked online but it seems he was the right one for me. We are engaged and I couldn't be happier. Hard to focus at work! Even our pets get along ;-) I recommend Joann's Matchmaking to everyone. I've come to know her well and knows she really cares about what she does. And she doesn't take every man who wants to hire her, she does more than just set up dates. I reached out in 2023 after seeing a post online indicating they need more 50+ women desiring long term relationships leading to marriage and women can submit an application at no cost for their services. I am over 60, educated, business professional, outgoing and have not had luck in the past with online dating apps. I desire a long term relationship leading to marriage. I immediately received a response from Lisa Marie wanting me to complete an application with photos. Lisa Marie informed me that my application was accepted and asked for more photos. I was excited to start my new adventure since this company had good success ratings and were mentioned in Phoenix magazine and other publications. Well I had not heard anything after 6 months from submitting my profile/photos. I reached back out to Lisa Marie 6 wanting to know why I have not had any matches/responses from them and was informed that the majority of their clients are dormant for the summer and things will be picking up when they return in the fall. I asked for my profile to update with current pics and noticed that of the 10 pics I provided, they only posted 2 of them and in my opinion were not the best of the 10 I provided. I updated my profile with newer photos and changed some of the profile verbiage hoping this round would be more successful. I received confirmation that they received and updated my profile in their system and it's been over 2 years and no correspondence, conversations or potential matches. I even inquired on the what the cost would be to join if this would increase my chances and received no response. Very frustrating. A friend also submitted her profile shortly after I submitted mine with zero success. She also offered to join the paid membership and received no response as well. read more

To sum up the experience it was a waste of time, she did not listen. The match needs to go both ways, she talks to you like she knows what you want better then you. Both my friend and I were newly single and decided to give this a chance thinking we might meet men who we had more in common with and were serious about a relationship. My friend's experience was not good. She tried to set her up with men who had/wanted kids despite my friend telling her multiple times kids were a deal breaker. She completely refused the dates and is now happily married to a man who does not want kids. My experience was awful. I went to her office for the interview, and I regret not walking out. I am 5"5 and weight between 125/135, toned no gut, workout 3/4 times a week and usually wear a size 2, 4, or 6 depending on brand sizing. I have hips and boobs and curves like normal. Her comment (para phrased) during the interview was it's OK that you're not thin that's not all guys want. First, she is supposed to be matching people as they are not changing people. Second, that comment on my body was absolutely unacceptable you should never say that. you never know what someone has been through. I was an elite athlete in a sport from age 7-20 where a lot of girls have eating disorders because of pressure from coaches. A comment like that can still damage someone who has recovered. Especially when a person has worked hard to not cry over a 1lb gain and maintain a normal weight. At my worst I was down to around 95lbs, very unhealthy. Despite the horrid impression I still went on a date with the guy she set me up with, I didn't want to miss out on meeting him. He was sweet and cute but I just had no interest and I told her that. She called to set up a second date a few weeks later. In that few weeks I had met my now husband through a friend and we were just talking getting to know each other as friends but I knew there was something there. Joann would not relent I felt I was getting pressured by a used car salesman. I stupidly agreed because I hadn't actually started dating my husband yet, and to get her off my back. I felt bad for the guy because it was a waste of his time, and the guys have to pay which was probably part of the reason for the high-pressure tactic. Two goods thing that came from this is I realized I am strong, and I am recovered from the eating disorders they don't define me anymore. Three years prior a comment like that would have triggered my eating disorder again The other good this is I my friend and I both had a Good -Luck Chuck situation and met our wonderful husbands' weeks after the horrible match making experience. read more

Joann will ghost you just like the men do. I worked with her several years ago and should have wrote this review then. She expects a lot when working with her and while I was happy to comply, when I had questions she'd rarely answer them or address them directly. The final straw was a lawyer she introduced me to. She has protocols she expects to be followed after each date yet the same courtesy is not extended to the woman (or at least not to me.) I did my part as she asked and reported back to her. I also had questions of my own I wanted to address with her and they went unanswered. She never bothered to respond. The guy fell off the face of the earth and so did she. Then I received a message from him three weeks later proposing a second date. She follows up with a message as well. I couldn't believe it. Zero communication and then they come back around three weeks later with some lame explanation that he was traveling for work and couldn't manage to pick up the phone or send a quick 3 second text in the course of 21 days. It was discourteous and rude. I was done. She puts on a facade that the only men she works with are high value, quality men but not all of them are. Fast forward and out of no where she reaches out to me earlier this week with a short text and asks if I'm single. I replied to her and again... radio silence... no response. It's very unprofessional behavior and there's definitely a vibe there that she's doing you a favor. My experience working with her was not a pleasant one. read more

Joann is a truly fabulous person. I worked with her for a year and a half before she found my HUSBAND! I really loved how she coached and guided me through the matchmaking process, making things so much more carefree and less intimidating. I usually wait a few month before I write a mediocre comment to make sure i am not emotional about it. I came across Joann's website last year. I filled an application and sent it to her. The website said that it may take a very long time till I hear back from her and I should be patient and not give up. To my surprise shortly after I sent the application she got back to me and wanted to schedule a meeting. I was very happy that I didn't have to wait long. I read the instruction, it was all about being punctual and not wasting her time, etc, etc. It all made sense. I am a very punctual person so i didn't even need to worry about that. My appointment was at 3pm. Just to make sure I am not going to be late, I left extra early and ended up being there 25 min before my appointment. The office was not very easy to find, but i found it and told the receptionist my name and she told me to wait and Joann is going to come and get me. I grabbed a magazine and tried to keep myself busy till my appointment time. I could hear her talking to a client. I occasionally looked at the clock. it was 5min after and no sign of her, I still could hear her taking, 15 minutes passed 3pm and she still didn't come to get me after a few more minutes i started to get annoyed. I was thinking my time should be as important as her, she emphasized so much on timing in her protocol, she should respect other peoples time as her own. anyway, she walked out 18 min passed 3pm. looked at me in the lobby and then looked at the receptionist and said , i didn't know she was hear, receptionist looked at her computer, then at her and shrug her shoulder with a puzzled look. What really bothered me at that point was that she didn't even acknowledged that she was late and she didn't apologized for that. anyway, she started to interview me and after every answer i gave her she told me that i have to compromise... she told me to compromise for height, age, religion, race, profession, education, pets, and kids. When we got to the kids part I drew the line and said Joann, i do not want to date anyone who has kids. I know it won't work for me. i would not compromise for that. She told me that the man i am looking for pretty much doesn't exist. At least not in Arizona,she told me i am living in the wrong state and I have to move out of state or make all those compromises. I was thinking if i wanted to do all those compromises i didn't have to meet with her, i would leave my house and have a boyfriend in 5 seconds!!! (Yes, it may sound too cocky but I am actually a very attractive and educated women) anyways, her service did not work for me at all, however it completely took my hope away and made me think that I will never find an ideal man. shortly after, i met Mark on a dating site. He is a good looking man, has a great profession, very well educated, never married before, no kids, no pets, Caucasian and a couple of years younger than me. Not only he has everything I wanted in a man but much more to offer. I am very happy, we are dating for about 8 month now and everything is going great. I hope this review is helpful. This woman is not a matchmaker. She will give you hope and then you will never hear from her again. I met with Joann in January and she told me of three men that could be a match for me and to think it over and let her know if I was interested. After a few days I tried to call her and left her messages. After two weeks and multiple attempts to try to contact her I finally received an email saying that the matches she had for me were currently dating other women and she would let me know if things changed. Since the website says it may take months for her to find a match for you, I waited and now 6 months later I have never heard from her again. She will treat you like all the men on dating sites I was trying to avoid by going to her and ghost you. Do not waste your time! read more
