[extended] I was in the process of building my first computer, I was fairly nervous as I had been saving up for all the parts, and didn't want to turn it into a brick. I had gotten all of my components, and was in the process of testing it out. The fans spun up the lights turn on, but no signal was coming from my video card, put in the post speaker to see what the issue is, yet I wasn't hearing anything. I tried everything I could find, but nothing was working. I came to the realization that the motherboard is probably DOA, so I sent it back, waited another two weeks, got a new one, put it together, and the same exact problem occurred; GREAT. I had one of my friends test a few parts, but they were inconclusive. I finally arrived were you are today, looking at computer repair services on yelp. When I arrived I was pretty unsure of the place, the only other computer repair store I've used before was geek squad, and was very dissatisfied with their customer service and price gouging. I explained my problem and they went through the normal laundry list of common solutions. The technician I spoke to was extremely personable, and tested out what he could right then and there, but he couldn't find any issue. I handed over the computer parts and case, and waiting to hear the bad news. I was either out $60 for a new motherboard or $120 for a new processor. I got a call the next day from the technician who was working on my computer that they got it up and running. I had to call back to make sure I heard right. When I walked in after work, the technician told me what went wrong, and then showed me my computer. I was thrilled that they put the entire computer together for me. I was only expecting them to tell me what was wrong, but I was even happier when they gave me the price which was extremely reasonable. I took it in to get fixed and I got lucky because they had the replacement part in stock.
