I am an IT who does a little bit of everything. From fellow employees, I've seen a few repairs come through this shop and most all have been inferior replacements. I manage hundreds of iPhones for the company, have replaced dozens of screens myself through the years for them and everyone else, and have dealt with shops like this one as well as with Apple directly. I have had to re-repair the repairs done by this shop on a few occasions as well. The latest one due to a cable not being put together properly on an iPhone 7 and pressing on the back of the screen causing auroras and discoloration. This shop's "fix" for it was to remove some parts from the iphone to reduce internal pressures and they sent the user on their way with the parts in a baggy. The user came to me and related what happened and handed me a bag of shielding parts that this shop removed and said couldn't be put back in. I opened up the phone again, and found the problem. I then adjusted and put the screen ribbon cable in the correct location (in a gap that was designed for it to sit) where it doesn't press on the screen, and then I put it all together and it works fine now with all the parts back inside.
I decided to leave a review after many such stories coming my way from this shop, and this one was just laziness of not taking the extra time to do it right.
All this to say, go to the apple store if your phone is still under warranty - and possibly still if it's not under warranty. If you get it repaired at iphix, your warranty will no longer be good if you have any other issues with your phone. The Apple store is just over $100 to get it fixed properly and that price is solid and you may end up just getting a new phone out of the deal on occasions too. (albeit, the apple store has horrible wait times and a ridiculous reservation system that doesn't speed anything up. I wish they would revamp their scheduling system.)
Anyway.. hope this helps you consumers. And iphix, I wish you the best of luck with your business and encourage you guys do what's necessary to do things right by all of your customers. I realize yelp is a platform for ranting, and i know you guys have repaired many devices successfully or you would not be in business, but the better you treat customers, the better your reviews will be here, and the more people yelp will push your way. People listen to Yelp -as frustrating as it is for business owners. ..And, until i start hearing good reports about you guys and proper warranty and follow through, I will continue to tell everyone to not go to you guys for repairs. For a $3-$30 part, take care of your customers and they will take care of you. read more
