Towels, toiletries, linens, WiFi and a TV was included. Communication between owner and us was prompt. The property is gated - the cottage was clean upon arrival. The location was convenient to Cornell University and Ithaca college. The grocery store was also very close by. And the property was quiet and bed was comfortable. They do allow pets for an additional fee - so we took our 2 dogs. 2. Picture on Air BnB were deceiving. Only 1-2 cottages have the view that were depicted online. The Anticipated view was the main attribute that attracted us to this property. The Stone cottage has only a view of the home the owners live in. 3. There is no kitchen. We anticipated a small kitchenette and we got a dorm style refrigerate and microwave, a non functioning hot plate, and a kettle. There is no kitchen sink so we were left to wash the dishes with paper towels and our hands in the bath tub or bathroom sink because there were no sponges or items to clean dishes. There is no counter space. Minimal dishes were provided but we questioned how clean they were. 4. Bathroom and bathing - if you are traveling with a new significant other this is not the place for you. Plan on an uncomfortable bathroom experience. The toilet has a partitioned wall without a ceiling. Basically everything you do is heard loud and clear. The shower and bathroom sink is open to the rest of the living space. 5. There is a patio with community grill. No grilling utensils were provided but the grill was adequate. We enjoyed the patio space however the space is community so you may have to coordinate your cooking and dining time. We were fortunate to not have to share while we stayed here. 6. The "pond" and the grounds in general. Poor upkeep! The grass was not cute. Garbage bins filled to the brim. Owners dogs have free rein of the property but were not aggressive. It wasn't uncommon for the chickens to be outside of the coup either. We anticipated the dogs being able to swim in the pond as it was advertised as a beautiful feature of the property. The pond likely not taken care of in quite some time. There was tons of algae present. It was overgrown with weeds and the "porch swing" by the pond was rusted and moldy - again advertised as a nice peaceful way to spend your evening. 7. Location - this was much further from the lakes and wineries than anticipated - if you want to do a wine trail - plan on a good 30 minute drive to the first winery on the west side of the lake. 8. Overall a disappointing trip. We drove over 5 hours to stay here based on how it was advertised.

I'm so glad we were able to get to know Tony and Gina this year and look forward to returning for the 2017 season. There are also quite a few restaurants within a 20 minute drive that are open through dinner time; Tony and Gina are quite knowledgeable and are always willing to provide recommendations, and they also have binders in every guest room full of area dining options, which includes hours and days open (and info on wineries too!)

Though I did a last minute booking, she gave us three rooms to choose from. We had a great time. It's so peaceful here. If you are one of those people who needs Hilton or Hyatt welcoming and all luxury that 5 star boring hotels offer, you probably should not be staying here. However, if you are looking for a quiet, peaceful, warm, romantic place to stay-you will feel yourself home. And her awesome family style breakfast on a lovely patio with astonishing views of the Lake will make your stay even more romantic. We also enjoyed her hot tube on a chilly evening after spending an evening in Ithaca. Thank you Diana!

DO NOT STAY HERE. Visit trip adviser for full review…read more Much of our time was spent outside of the Airbnb, as the temperature indoors was too hot midday. Over 24 hours after our arrival, we still had not been provided with a garbage bag or can. When we complained to Diane about the service and accommodations she said "you should be grateful for the gift you received". She also asked us if we'd like to just leave, without a refund. We told her we would be staying, that we were still unhappy, and that we still needed that garbage bag. She also told us that we would need to clean the kitchen before we left, the kitchen that was dirty when we arrived. I let her know that all of the dishes had been present upon arrival. She had the nerve to call the kitchen "well used" in her review of us. That kitchen was dirty, but it was in that state when we arrived and I would be leaving it as I had found it. We ate every meal out, nothing was prepared in that kitchen. As the weekend went on, we were in need of additional toilet paper. Cumulatively, we had received 1 roll for 5 women, with a Friday through Monday stay. I sent Diane a message requesting toilet paper at 9AM and again at 3:45PM. Sometime after 4PM she replied, letting us know that additional toilet paper could be found in the room connected to the first small room. We used a butterknife to pop the eye and hook lock on that door, as this is the door that only locked from the outside and we didn't have access to. On our last evening there, we returned to the Villa around 10PM. Upon entering, the smell of dirty dog was pungent. No dogs had been seen. We made our way to bed. At 3AM we were woken up by the sounds of the voices of other guests. These guests were utilizing the common room located just outside our divider, they were also using every single light in the room. Much to my dismay, my shutter door doesn't really block light or sound, so I laid awake in my bed made of wicker. The guests returned to their rooms around 4:30AM. At 6AM we were woken up again, this time by the barks of the dirty dog in the room at the end of the hall. In summary, we were duped. We spent $1,750 for 3-nights at this location. $250 of that was a cleaning fee, something surely not happening at the Cayuga Lake Inn. We were treated like garbage and made to feel unwelcome. I will never recommend this location to a single person I know. I have no doubts that this used to be a beautiful location, but it is horribly maintained. Diane's knick-knacks and open books line every surface in the rooms. You can write messages in the layers of dust on the tables. If you're reading this Diane, your common room table says "Hi, Diane!" I'd love for you to go check. Wipe it while you're there, you can use the paper towels we brought from home. Stay away from the Cayuga Lake Inn. Beware of outdated positive reviews. There is no one working at this location except Diane, and she sucks.

The whole place was immaculate, and I have to commend them on a tremendous job on the renovations to the property; you wouldn't believe the farmhouse was built in 1847! And last but certainly not least, the breakfasts Mary serves up are as wonderful as other reviews have mentioned. Some bed & breakfasts drop the ball on the whole "breakfast" part of "B&B," but that's definitely not the case at the Apex Inn! It was our first trip to the Finger Lakes, but after this experience, we'll definitely be coming back and look forward to booking the Apex Inn again! Thanks again for everything, Mary and John!

This was the week before the nearby colleges graduation so the whole Finger Lakes region was relatively quiet which resulted in a chill experience for us. This BnB consists of 2 houses. We chose a room in the second house. it was very quiant. Given that this was the quiet week, we had the entire house to ourselves even though it would have been fun if there were other guests around to interact with. Nonetheless, the hosts very gracious and made us feel at home by interacting with us during breakfasts and dinner. They genuinely wanted to get to know their guests and vice versa. The black Labrador Gus was also super friendly. We got the package that includes a 4-hour wine tour car service and an exclusive dinner for 2 prepared by Wally himself, on top of the daily breakfast that's included in the standard room rate. The highlight of our stay was Wally's culinary skills. He is a world-class chef in our opinion. He made the best omelette I've had in my life. Since we got the dinner package, every detail of the 4-course meal was discussed and customized with us prior to our stay. I would recommend Glass Magnolia to anyone visiting the region. Even if you are not into wines, Wally's cooking alone is worth the stay.
