Breakfast offerings change daily and she uses the freshest ingredients; I'm super picky and every option sounded scrumptious. It was hard to choose just one! HIGHLY recommend the Gazebo room; it is a standalone room situated towards the back of the property and is very private and romantic. The decor is simple, yet elegant. It includes an oversized jet tub, spacious bedroom and bathroom and mini fridge. There is also a fireplace in the room and is stocked with lavender toiletries. My boyfriend and I appreciated the attention to detail in this room. We will absolutely be back! Madeline and Ken were happy to recommend activities and restaurants as well. There is a lot to do in the area and I cannot wait to visit in the fall. Parking off-street, wi-fi, delicious cookies and juice served in the evenings, beautiful grounds and the list goes on. You will NOT be disappointed with this lovely bed and breakfast.

    1. We found this location on air bnb. The pictures were beautiful and serene. The owners live on…read morethe property and have 4/5 other cottages they rent out. The cost was 295$ per night. Towels, toiletries, linens, WiFi and a TV was included. Communication between owner and us was prompt. The property is gated - the cottage was clean upon arrival. The location was convenient to Cornell University and Ithaca college. The grocery store was also very close by. And the property was quiet and bed was comfortable. They do allow pets for an additional fee - so we took our 2 dogs. 2. Picture on Air BnB were deceiving. Only 1-2 cottages have the view that were depicted online. The Anticipated view was the main attribute that attracted us to this property. The Stone cottage has only a view of the home the owners live in. 3. There is no kitchen. We anticipated a small kitchenette and we got a dorm style refrigerate and microwave, a non functioning hot plate, and a kettle. There is no kitchen sink so we were left to wash the dishes with paper towels and our hands in the bath tub or bathroom sink because there were no sponges or items to clean dishes. There is no counter space. Minimal dishes were provided but we questioned how clean they were. 4. Bathroom and bathing - if you are traveling with a new significant other this is not the place for you. Plan on an uncomfortable bathroom experience. The toilet has a partitioned wall without a ceiling. Basically everything you do is heard loud and clear. The shower and bathroom sink is open to the rest of the living space. 5. There is a patio with community grill. No grilling utensils were provided but the grill was adequate. We enjoyed the patio space however the space is community so you may have to coordinate your cooking and dining time. We were fortunate to not have to share while we stayed here. 6. The "pond" and the grounds in general. Poor upkeep! The grass was not cute. Garbage bins filled to the brim. Owners dogs have free rein of the property but were not aggressive. It wasn't uncommon for the chickens to be outside of the coup either. We anticipated the dogs being able to swim in the pond as it was advertised as a beautiful feature of the property. The pond likely not taken care of in quite some time. There was tons of algae present. It was overgrown with weeds and the "porch swing" by the pond was rusted and moldy - again advertised as a nice peaceful way to spend your evening. 7. Location - this was much further from the lakes and wineries than anticipated - if you want to do a wine trail - plan on a good 30 minute drive to the first winery on the west side of the lake. 8. Overall a disappointing trip. We drove over 5 hours to stay here based on how it was advertised.

Check in isn't until 4 pm which was a pain as we were tired from traveling and wanted to settle in. I wish that they would change it to 2 o'clock. Every thing was excellent after that. Max greeted us and made us feel right at home. When he realized that we were interested in the history of the building , he shared it with us. loved hearing about Harriet Tubman & the Underground Railroad. Loved that they had photos of the original owner Daniel D Miner in his military uniform. The history books of the area were enjoyable to read. Our room was very comfortable with a gas fireplace . The noise canceling machine was a nice touch as our room was right by the road . I'm a extremely light sleeper but I slept so soundly both nights. The only thing that I wasn't thrilled about was the shared bathrooms. It was a inconvenience having to walk down the hall way in the middle of the night. If we had known that we would have stayed elsewhere, BUT I'm glad that we didn't know that as I loved the inn. The coffee in the main parlor was a nice touch & the breakfast I in the grand ball room was so nice . The young woman who made our French toast was a dear. I can't say enough about the staff. The Salt Point Brewery in the stable next door was great. Again, great staff, wonderful beer selection & good bar food all reasonable priced. We also highly recommend a trip up the road too Prison City Brewery which was fantastic. Cornell University and Montezuma National Wildlife Refuge up the road was great day trips. The original pub in the inn will be reopening this year so we look forward to returning.

Despite being so close to Collegetown, we felt like we were a million miles away -- everything was truly perfect and it was so hard leaving! This house is ENORMOUS - if I'm not mistaken there are 8 bedrooms, four of which have bathrooms ensuite which was perfect for our coupled off friends. The house is unbelievably charming -- a super old Victorian, but everything was in great working condition, the house was spotless (especially the beds + bedding which was pristine). We were able to cook in one night with all of the kitchenware which was so lovely, and ate out the other nights. This house is in PERFECT location for walking to both Ctown and the commons -- we even walked to the farmers market on Sunday. There is no lacking of outdoor seating - there's a front porch, a side screened in porch, and an unreal tiny deck overlooking the gorge, which is where I started each morning listening to the sound of rushing water. It was actual heaven. Pat and Shannon were wonderful and helpful and we can't wait to come back and stay here!
