1. We found this location on air bnb. The pictures were beautiful and serene. The owners live on…read morethe property and have 4/5 other cottages they rent out. The cost was 295$ per night. Towels, toiletries, linens, WiFi and a TV was included. Communication between owner and us was prompt. The property is gated - the cottage was clean upon arrival. The location was convenient to Cornell University and Ithaca college. The grocery store was also very close by. And the property was quiet and bed was comfortable. They do allow pets for an additional fee - so we took our 2 dogs. 2. Picture on Air BnB were deceiving. Only 1-2 cottages have the view that were depicted online. The Anticipated view was the main attribute that attracted us to this property. The Stone cottage has only a view of the home the owners live in. 3. There is no kitchen. We anticipated a small kitchenette and we got a dorm style refrigerate and microwave, a non functioning hot plate, and a kettle. There is no kitchen sink so we were left to wash the dishes with paper towels and our hands in the bath tub or bathroom sink because there were no sponges or items to clean dishes. There is no counter space. Minimal dishes were provided but we questioned how clean they were. 4. Bathroom and bathing - if you are traveling with a new significant other this is not the place for you. Plan on an uncomfortable bathroom experience. The toilet has a partitioned wall without a ceiling. Basically everything you do is heard loud and clear. The shower and bathroom sink is open to the rest of the living space. 5. There is a patio with community grill. No grilling utensils were provided but the grill was adequate. We enjoyed the patio space however the space is community so you may have to coordinate your cooking and dining time. We were fortunate to not have to share while we stayed here. 6. The "pond" and the grounds in general. Poor upkeep! The grass was not cute. Garbage bins filled to the brim. Owners dogs have free rein of the property but were not aggressive. It wasn't uncommon for the chickens to be outside of the coup either. We anticipated the dogs being able to swim in the pond as it was advertised as a beautiful feature of the property. The pond likely not taken care of in quite some time. There was tons of algae present. It was overgrown with weeds and the "porch swing" by the pond was rusted and moldy - again advertised as a nice peaceful way to spend your evening. 7. Location - this was much further from the lakes and wineries than anticipated - if you want to do a wine trail - plan on a good 30 minute drive to the first winery on the west side of the lake. 8. Overall a disappointing trip. We drove over 5 hours to stay here based on how it was advertised.

We got a tour of the house upon arrival - there are some common areas for hanging out and relaxing, a lovely porch, tea and little munchy things for snacks. There is a shelf with books and puzzles for indoor chill-time. The property is absolutely beautiful and peaceful. We stayed in Suite 4 and loved it. There are even outlets on both sides of the bed (useful for cpap machines!). We had tons of pillows, soft blankets, both heating and cooling in the room, bottles of water, a Keurig in the hallway for tea and coffee, honestly everything I could have hoped for. Breakfast is a cold continental-style but I was impressed with it. I had bagels and cream cheese with fresh berries and a lovely cup of coffee. There were so many choices! They have cereal, yogurt, and even dairy-free milk available. The kitchen cabinets and drawers are clearly labeled so it's easy to find utensils and plates. The hosts thought of everything! The house is located along a fairly busy road so you can hear the traffic out on the porch (personally I find it a calming sound). There are approximately a million very loud bugs outdoors at nighttime due to the proximity to the forest. The windows are great and I could hardly hear any of that from inside - just peace and quiet. Bonus - the location is just a few minutes from the state park with lovely waterfalls and a few minutes the other direction from several cute restaurants in the town. Summary - I loved everything about my stay here and would very happily stay again.

This was the week before the nearby colleges graduation so the whole Finger Lakes region was relatively quiet which resulted in a chill experience for us. This BnB consists of 2 houses. We chose a room in the second house. it was very quiant. Given that this was the quiet week, we had the entire house to ourselves even though it would have been fun if there were other guests around to interact with. Nonetheless, the hosts very gracious and made us feel at home by interacting with us during breakfasts and dinner. They genuinely wanted to get to know their guests and vice versa. The black Labrador Gus was also super friendly. We got the package that includes a 4-hour wine tour car service and an exclusive dinner for 2 prepared by Wally himself, on top of the daily breakfast that's included in the standard room rate. The highlight of our stay was Wally's culinary skills. He is a world-class chef in our opinion. He made the best omelette I've had in my life. Since we got the dinner package, every detail of the 4-course meal was discussed and customized with us prior to our stay. I would recommend Glass Magnolia to anyone visiting the region. Even if you are not into wines, Wally's cooking alone is worth the stay.

The cabin is warm and cozy, but also has an open feel to it. Everything you think of was provided. The decor was perfect and made the cabin feel like a home. My oldest daughter really liked the moose antlers! It is tucked away in the hills but it is easy to find and get back on the main roads. The location it a short drive to so many places. On our stay we went to the Corning museum of glass, and the Rockwell Museum. It was about a 40 minute drive west. The owner Liz provides a booklet of places to go and things to do and see. There are trails to hike. We didn't get to this time cause of all the snow. But will be coming back to do it in the summer. After all our walking in Cortland the hot tub outside in the winter time was a dream! My kids really loved the hot tub as well. There is a full kitchen, and bath. We didn't want for anything. The house was really really dirty! Quite a few of the kitchen appliances were defective. There was…read morean abundance of dishes and glass wear. Advertised as having a game room - there was a single foosball table in one room. The hot tub was unusable as it was also dirty. There was WiFi but it did not work in the upstairs bedrooms or outside. Many upstairs air conditioning units did not work. The bathrooms probably haven't been cleaned in years. Plenty of towels and clean sheets. One positive was the outdoor area. The grounds are very nice and plenty of seating. However, there are quite a few spotlights on all night which shine through the bedrooms on the garage side of the house. Definitely not appropriate for a formal gathering considering the amount of dirty areas.
