The owners were incredibly kind and knowledgeable about local culture, culinary offerings, and sightseeing. They provided excellent recommendations for local cider and navigating the nearby gorge in Buttermilk Falls State Park. The breakfast bar was charming and featured local Ithaca favorites, like granola from Wide Awake bakery, coffee from Oak and Crow, Ithaca Milk yogurt, and local NYS honey and maple syrup. The room was beautiful, featuring a giant glass window to watch migratory birds and other wildlife. The decor was modern, yet the room had a vintage feel. The entire property was elegant with a retro touch. We loved all the outdoor seating, as well as the outdoor fire pits. We look forward to staying again on our next trip to Ithaca!

$120 for rinky-dink Mountain really!? Even if the lodge was updated, even if there was more…read morevertical, it still wouldn't be worth $120. Not only that it says on the website $59 on Tuesdays, but not on a holiday. Presidents' Day is a one day holiday, so how's the whole week a holiday season. I don't care if schools are off they should not be reneging on their promises of $59 day pass passes. We came expecting to pay that price. I complained to at least three people. Nobody offered me any recourse. Not only that they've gone cashless which excludes people who don't have credit cards. Plus, you can only buy tickets online so there's no way around to even talk to. They have some guys wandering around a jackets that can help you process their overpriced tickets, but no booth no manager no nothing. It's icy, crappy and I'm not coming back ever. I'd rather ski somewhere else if I'm gonna pay this kind of money. If you're gonna ski a small central to Western New York mountain; keep heading west to the skiing over by Buffalo the snow but better anyway.

As a complete beginner, I was a bit of a physical hazard on the slopes - picture me sliding down the hill in sheer terror (stopped in the middle and had a panic attack), sometimes sitting (laying is more accurate) in the snow, utterly immobilized by my unwieldy penguin-like flippers. Despite my less-than-graceful attempts, I miraculously managed to avoid any serious collisions. Though I'm obviously not ready to tackle the intimidating black diamond runs (seriously scary), I genuinely enjoyed my time at Greek Peak. From the get-go, Greek Peak made a positive impression. The resort itself is beautiful, with stunning snow-covered landscapes and a well-maintained facility. The staff were incredibly friendly and patient, offering help when I was stuck in between a crevice :,) Perhaps any mountain resort would do the same but it was fun and everything went smoothly!

We have mixed reviews of our stay last night at the Cook Mansion. First off... we had to second…read moreguess ourselves when driving in. The home itself is quite lovely and stately. However, there was no attention to detail with weed filled borders and no flowers or mums in the lovely urns gracing the front (unused) entrance. Our host Kris was very welcoming and gracious...Quite a conversationalist and made us feel at home. The interior of the home, had large common rooms, and was clean. It is in desperate need of area rugs, more furniture, wall decor, flowers... anything to add warmth. The room in which we stayed had a comfortable bed and huge bathroom. Both very clean. However, staying at more B & B's than we can count, we were disappointed with the following: 1- A HUGE black plastic bag covered the waste can in our bathroom. I know that sounds petty, but we're in a B & B...not a Motel 6. There was no floor mat when exiting the shower so egress was onto the linoleum. 2- The windows were not only painted shut, but nailed shut. So, no fresh air. (Kris did provide a fan for our use). Most importantly there was no speedy escape route if there was (God forbid) a fire outside in the hall. (Fellow guess we met at breakfasts verbalized the same concern(s). 3- Breakfast was quite disappointing. Scrambled eggs, hash browns and Canadian bacon. All served in chafing dishes in the new, large kitchen. Again... this is fine, however, in a B & B, the breakfast is usually a looked forward to 'event'. Numerous boxes of Entemann's pastries were also available. Plastic utensils were set out, along with plastic cups for juice. Even though there was real silverware, glasses, etc., plastic was set out. Serving ourselves was perfectly fine, there was just no attention to detail. Large containers of sugar, powdered cream, etc., were set on the counters instead of lovely servers. It's the little things that make a B & B. So, all that being said we will not return. Although it is clean, right next to the lovely falls and within minutes of Watkins Glen.

Market - Cheese, hot sauces, produce, ice, and sandwiches. - No Wi-Fi - BUGS - bring A LOT of bug spray. The bugs will crowd around your door while you're inside at night. If you have to leave while it's dark, we learned the trick of turning the lights off at first, letting most of the bugs leave the door, then running out! Had an absolutely wonderful time at these cabins!…read more My group of 15 enjoyed their stay at the Rustic Log Cabins. We rented out all four of the cabins, which meant we did not have to share the bathrooms with other groups and we were able to be a little louder than what you would expect at a state park camping grounds. I brought my dog on the wine tour and she had a blast as well. The cabins were pet friendly, and Jackie was so kind, telling me to be careful around the road (route 414) because a lot of people speed/whip right by. Cabins: The cabins were very quaint. My group went camping at a state park last year and had a blast. A lot of people thought the cabin would be too much, but they were perfect. We all had enough room to sleep on a bed, had electricity to charge our phones, and refrigerators to keep our beverages and leftover food from lunch and dinner cold. Each cabin had their own picnic table and bonfire. We just made one bonfire and moved a table over to accommodate all the people we had. There were stoves in the cabins, but we did not use them. There was firewood provided, which was very nice. Communication: Jackie was very easy to contact. We made our reservations two months in advance, and we kept in contact until the day of our arrival. She sent me a reminder in the mail, stating the remaining balance on a little brochure that stated more information about the cabins. I contacted her five days before our reservation confirming our arrival time and she promptly responded. When we arrived the day of our reservation, the cabins were clean and ready to go. She met us at the cabins and gave us a lot of suggestions as to where to go around the area. I would definitely recommend staying at these cabins if you are looking for a happy medium between camping and a hotel. My group loves the outdoors, so being able to have a bonfire and watch the stars at night was simply perfect!
