    https://www.fingerlakespremierproperties.com/rentals/solitude I rented the property above and found it to be falsely described in the website advertisement. The photographs on their website are old and do not show the state of disrepair that the property is in. There are also untrue facts in the description such as zero stairs to enter property (there are several and some are not built to code). Stairs to lake advertised as 39 when there are actually 53. The stairs to the lake are dangerously supported or not supported at all. The rails on the patio are held up by both plastic and metal chains. We were unable to use the patio at all as it is so crooked you can't sit safely in a chair on it without tipping. Outdated pictures on the website fail to show this property's true condition. The house was also not clean, had unpleasant odors, a/c inadequate, mildew in hot tub, rotted wood throughout. Owner told us to just run the a/c 24/7 and keep windows open to deal with the odors. 2 of the skylights over the dining area leaked every time it rained. Some of the advertised parking areas were over an 1/8 of a mile up a steep incline. Because we did not receive what was rented to us, we left early without compensation from the company. They sent their technicians out to see the issues and they agreed with all of our complaints and even found more. Nothing could be done to correct these during our stay. FLPP told us we could leave the 2nd day and get our money back, but we had no where to go and several guests were scheduled to fly in throughout our stay. They would not relocate us. In hindsight, I looked at the reviews for Finger Lakes Premier Properties and found that there are many renters with the same issues. They should not be allowed to continue taking customers' money through fraudulent advertising. Many more photos can be provided if requested.

The owner confirmed availability and referred me to the rental agency to make the actual reservation. I both called and sent an email through their website. It took 3 days to get a response from the rental agency. The website says "We strive to respond to all inquires by the close of the next business day", which I already thought was too long a wait. On the 4th day I received all cost info and was told a message was left with the owner for confirmation of availability. That same morning I had an email from the owner answering a question I had and there was no mention of any change in availability. On the 5th day, after inquiring via email, I received notice from the rental agent that the owner had rented to someone else. She then said the best way to rent is to go through her and not the owner, which is what I had done 5 days earlier! In one of our last email conversations, Kathy (agent) apologized for her delay in responding as she had been in the hospital. While I wish her well, how can an office of this type make it through a summer rental period with one employee? I have to assume she is the only person working as I always got the answering machine when I called and no one appears to have been covering for her while in the hospital. What's sad is this company is owned by a local real estate company whose name is recognized in this area. Maybe they could have covered while Kathy was in the hospital? I first emailed this review to the owner's. I've not heard back from them. At no point in any of my rental experiences has it ever taken longer than a day to complete a reservation. To wait 5, only to have yanked from under me is not acceptable in my book.

The day we were to arrive we were told not all beds were made up, linens were supposed to be provided as per the contract. We also found out the beach area we enjoyed last year was off limits, the beach access was actually on the other side that they owned and to access it you have to duck under a low hanging willow tree and it's muddy. I text them when I found this out and asked them to call me and got ignored. The week was fine and after we left we got an email about 3 days later completely nit picking everything about our stay. They ended up charging us $300 for going over the number of renters allowed. Contract states north cottage 6, south cottage 8. We had 5 in north and 7 in south, 12 TOTAL, 4 of which were small children. They claim he made me a deal because of the number of renters. I rented both cottages for the purpose of having extended family. Tried calling and texting and again got ignored. His wife emailed but wanted to talk to him because I set this rental up with him not her. We were also charged for a board on the dock because the boat I rented pulled out a screw on the mooring whip. There was a charge to clean the grill down below because there was grease and they claimed it took a half hour to clean. Cleaning charge for south cottage. I feel like we went over both cottages pretty well and the place was ready to rent. We cleaned, wiped everything down and are pretty fussy ourselves. Would not go back.

All the cabins has been recently updated and felt very clean. Mattresses were pretty good especially for camping. The cabins come stocked with paper towel, coffee, mugs, coffee pot, dish and hand soap, tp, garbage bags, sponge and first aid kit. You do still have to bring basically all your stuff as if you were camping. The pool has 2 canopy areas with picnic tables underneath. The pool is only open when the lifeguard is on duty which is a bummer but understandable. There is a short walk to the water where the canoeing/boating/docks are. It is a walk back up a hill but it's not too horrible. The groundskeeper also keeps some livestock onsite which our 2 year loved. She got to hold some baby chicks and we saw sheep roaming free. Nearby places to check out include wineries (obviously) Shtayburn Dairy, FLX Weinery and climbing bines brewery. This place is very affordable and the amenities are a great deal for the price, where else can you stay this cheap on Seneca Lake?

The location is beautiful with Keuka Lake on one side for a great view. If the view is important to you during your stay, be sure to ask for a room on that side of the hotel. The rooms are pretty much standard for a hotel like this. Nothing special but nice, enough room and a nice bathroom with a roomy shower. Too bad many hotels are not providing a bar of soap anymore. It's now bottles on the wall. I still prefer a real bar. The bar/restaurant is small but very nice. We didn't try the food but we saw a number of dishes being served and they looked good.

I still don't understand. Why would they allow scheduling online and then forget you?

Then I found Connect-A-Service; these guys were able to do just about anything from cleanups to plumbing, electrical, yard care and property management. I hardly ever had to make a trip over there anymore. They made it all possible, I could never have done it without them. Always, they quickly responded to any of my requests, and took care of any issues very fast. Connect-A-Service even took over the sale of the house once I decided to sell. My last tenant moved, they fixed the house, including a basement renovation and got it on the market super fast. It sold quickly. Once again, everything was taken care of and I never even had to make a trip to Penn Yan. Outstanding! Thank you a thousand times!
