The bride and groom had to pull out of having the reception at the Silo. Management turned from kind and helpful to rude and disrespectful. He defiantly showed his true colors. We were not allowed to use the inn during the ceremony which made it hard to keep tradition for the bride and groom not to see each other before walking the isle and the bride and groom were charged twice. It was childish behavior of management and unprofessional. I was vary disappointed, but the ceremony was beautiful. The chairs and arch where set up when we got to the site, but we never saw anyone one from management to answer questions for congratulate the bride and groom. I would be carful working with the Silo for any event, but if you are a tough cookie I think you will like the Silo ceremony site.

Diane, the owner of Carriage House Qulits was a terrific coach who gave us the history of crazy quilts and helped each of us become confident stitchers! She is going to finish the edges for us as none of us are as skilled as she is. We can't say enough about how welcoming she was to our group of nine that ranged in age from 4 to 74!

Breakfast offerings change daily and she uses the freshest ingredients; I'm super picky and every option sounded scrumptious. It was hard to choose just one! HIGHLY recommend the Gazebo room; it is a standalone room situated towards the back of the property and is very private and romantic. The decor is simple, yet elegant. It includes an oversized jet tub, spacious bedroom and bathroom and mini fridge. There is also a fireplace in the room and is stocked with lavender toiletries. My boyfriend and I appreciated the attention to detail in this room. We will absolutely be back! Madeline and Ken were happy to recommend activities and restaurants as well. There is a lot to do in the area and I cannot wait to visit in the fall. Parking off-street, wi-fi, delicious cookies and juice served in the evenings, beautiful grounds and the list goes on. Bonus points: they can also offer French toast in a gluten free variation. My wife opted for the Potato Pile, which was a plate with a pile of potatoes, dressed, along with their homemade kimchi, and eggs. The potatoes were great. The cafe partners with local farms to serve up great produce.

They know their true Cajun seasoning. The oysters at the next table looked great, too, but we had missed the happy hour special. Of course we added an appetizer of fried green tomatoes with a bright somewhat-spicy New Orleans version of remoulade. This time (Jul 2026) was like our visit a couple of years ago. The menu was rather short, and we didnt see many middle-of-the-road or ordinary comfort-food offerings. Their local sourdough bread appetizer was fresh and nicely flavored, and we chose the fresh olive oil side just because it's so luscious. We could have had chive-butter. The marinated olives were flavorful and a little spicy. Their NY-cheese board had a tasty selection of soft and hard cheeses. The salads had choices of a chutney-paneer based mix, which was refreshingly creative. And we liked the Farmstand berry-cherry goat-cheese almond salad. These were all appealing. Chickpea salad or stew, tofu or salmon over steamed veggies, or smoked-trout open-face tartine sandwich, each sounded good, but we didnt bite. None of the mains called to us. I guess we just felt that none of those menu items screamed out we-gotta-come-to-this-restaurant. The food tasted like just homemade and fresh, but not exceptional. I ordered the tofu green curry and the man ordered the Moosewood burger. Neither dish was hot upon arrival at the table - more like lukewarm. The man says the burger wasn't particularly flavorful, although the roasted potatoes it came with were very good. The curry was flavorful and spicy, although the curry sauce was on the thin side. We didn't order appetizers (other than the olives) or dessert, so I can't comment on either. The service was friendly and efficient. When I mentioned that the food hadn't been served hot, the server removed two of our drinks from the bill as compensation, which was appreciated. I would give it another try before leaving Ithaca, but my expectations will be tempered on a second trip.
