Her enthusiasm and joyful personality made it an incredibly fun, informative and productive experience!! We both went in, very dubious about our pottery abilities, but she was patient and so helpful that we both made many pieces that came out so much better than we expected. Unfortunately our time restraints couldn't let us finish our pieces, but Laura finished and fired our pieces and happily shipped them to us. We were delighted and surprised to see how beautiful they all were when we unpacked them. I'd highly recommend her classes to anyone in the area, or traveling to the area!! You won't regret it!!

Would definitely recommend this place if you're looking for a nice gift for someone or some great nut butters!

My company has ordered from Barkertown a number of times. With the exception of Missy (the…read moreproprietor) totally forgetting about one of our orders, everything has been really great. Her clothes are often really great off the rack, and she does custom stuff as well. Custom takes a while, but her clothes are arguably of the best quality available in the colonial/revolutionary market. I have also worn a suit of hers as a tour guide for years, and it has held up better than any other 18th century clothing I've used. Missy can be a bit difficult at times, and is kind of eccentric, but her product pretty much justifies any difficulties.

Not a a great experience as when the items arrived, they were too large for the room. I agree my fault however to charge us $850.00 to return and restock was too high in my opiniion. However afterwards a salesperson with some design experience came to the house we did buy a Lancer couch and chair . That was almost 3 years ago. On the side my husband sits (he weighs about 180 lbs) I notice recently was squeaking and sinking. I change the cushions around regularly. When I called Hardings about the issue, receptionist said that Lancer furniture was no long in business. She said she would have someone call me. I immediately called to see if Lancer and no they are indeed still in business but not a dealer at Hardings. The customer service representative at Lancer was able to find our order with them through Hardings with particulars (date of purchase and that it was still under warranty bought in December of 2022, delivered in January 2023). And they did carry the spring to repair the sofa. Calling Harding back I did reprimand the receptionist about saying Lancer was no longer in business. Two days later Cher called who I believe is a member of the Harding family. She sent their repairman Tom out to look at the piece and he fixed the spring and suggested my husband sit in the middle of the couch. Really! For the service call we were charge $135.00. Paid the bill and said we would no longer buy anything with them annd asked them to remove our name from their multiple mailing ads. By the way the carpet did not stand up to their recommendation. Buyer beware. Many other places to get good quality furniture and hopefully a decent and honest store.
